"Looks nice property , but very noise at night time . We stay #29. Extremely small . Basic breakfast , the best was the cheese Bread . The towels is very old . White ? No . They are almost grey and very bad quality . The employees are wonderful . Our sink was constantly dripping water and floor was wet the most the time . Very nice way to save some water . "I liked the guy in charge of the place and this place was very, very cheap, so one can not expect much. Further more, we are Danish, so maybe we are spoiled. Never the less, we booked for 18 people (two times 9 bed dorms). We called in advance to make sure we knew what to bring. We were instructed only to bring towels. When we arrived there were only mattresses for 12 people, pillows and linnen for 8. We could have brought that stuff, so it was dissapointing that we were not told when we called....

"The Pousada Brasil is a 6-7 minute walk to the main town square, and the owner/manager is very friendly and helpful. As with many pousadas, the hotel is a very traditional building with a little balcony, nice windows with shutters. The room was very spacious, with a walk-in closet, and views towards the street outside and historic centre, which I liked. "

"This is an "adult property", not a proper place to stay unless one is looking for a discrete place to have sex. I feel I was bamboozled into making this reservation and I doubt I will ever see my money back. For the record, it is a very long distance from the center of Ouro Preto. "

Come over and relax

"Perfect place for a taste of Minas Gerais. I write this in English because Brasilians already know of the splendor of this establishment. You will not find a more comfortable, rustic, beautiful hotel in this region. The breakfast with most of the food cooked on the wood stove makes things even more special. "

"Very stylish accommodation close to everything, very convenient and safe parking. You’re transported back in history with modern conveniences and beautiful view of the town. Staff speaks English which is be big reprieve from translator on cell phones. Breakfast is awesome and everything is organic, I haven’t eaten eggs with yellow orange yolks since I was a child! Thank you for the great stay "

"The photos of the double room are misleading. It appeared to have plenty of space with a nice view of the busy city sidewalks. Instead, our room was woefully small and was damp with a smell of mildew. Our view was an alleyway rather than overlooking the business of the people around town.The staff was friendly but not very helpful overall. We plan to visit this amazing town again but will skip staying here next time. "

"The stay there was generally great. Good view from the accommodation, quiet and good breakfast. Service is nice, and efficient through WhatsApp. Only one issue is the last night of my stay there are termites. I know that they are not harmful, but the wings and worms dropped on my baggage. I don’t know if there are efficient and sustainable way to avoid this or not. Guess it might be a common issue living in old buildings. Overall, Ouro Preto is so nice, worth coming and living for some time."

"Pousada do arcanjo is a gem! This beautiful colonial hotel is conveniently located near the historic section of Ouro Preto. The staff wear period costumes which is such a fun touch. They are super friendly and helpful. The cuisine in Minas Gerais is said to be the best in Brazil and the hotel’s full Brazilian breakfast (café colonial) is a shining example. There’s a lovely afternoon tea as well! My room was very comfortable. I can’t wait to visit again! "
