Imagine not being able to see any neighbors and stargazing the unobstructed sky while sitting on the deck or in the cabin. There is no traffic whatsoever because the road to the cabin goes no where else! The 4 acre pond is suitable for fishing. Enjoy the firepit and new gas grill. Take a hike. Plan a day trip to Branson, MO. Watch nature's majesty as it manifests itself during all seasons. There are several nearby rivers for floating or canoeing. You can eat at one of your favorite fast food restaurants if you must! Cabool has a Subway, DQ and Sonic. There are McDonalds in nearby towns, both about 15 miles! Cabool also has a Mexican Restaurant, Asian Diner, a grocery store and restaurant that Mennonites operate and cook for (even their hamburger buns are homemade!) and an old fashioned Cafe. Bring your family or just yourself to revive, rejuvenate and refresh your spirit. This is a perfect location to 'get away from it all’,explore, get back to nature, for storytelling and story making. No TV but there is a DVD player for movie watching.

This was the perfect getaway! We enjoyed hiking, fishing, and the treats that were provided. The cabin was clean and cozy and the view was spectacular.
This was our second time staying & of course, it was amazing! The location & view is so worth it! Sheila was so informative of the Christmas events going on in the town, which we loved. Love staying here & will be our spot every time we go visit family!
The cabin is set beautifully overlooking the lake. It feels private and secluded. The communication with the owner was quick and easy. Great location to pivot from.
Absolutely gorgeous scenery you can even enjoy from inside. We really enjoyed the peace and tranquility. Trails were well kept and easy to hike. We hope to be back again. Highly recommend!
This cabin was beautiful and wonderful place to spend our 7 year Anniversary ❤️ The bass were biting and the cicadas were singing 🎶 We were able to drive to Mammoth Spring which was only an hour away and able to see the Gateway Arch in St. Louis! As well as finding some pretty nice Antique stores!
Our girlfriend renuion (all senior age) found it's most wonderful retreat here. The setting and cabin provide everything needed for peaceful and quiet enjoyment. Our hosts were responsive and generous, making us feel welcome and comfortable. We would love the opportunity to return to this perfectly sweet place.
This cabin is the perfect blend of camping and a hotel stay. It’s great to finish a long day outside by the fire with a nice hot shower in a warm cabin.
The lake/ pond is beautiful and we saw a good amount of wildlife.
The owners are very friendly and responsive to anything you may need while you are there.
We will be staying here again for sure.
Our stay was more than perfect! The fishing was amazing! This will quickly become our normal stay when visiting family. I can’t wait until our next visit. The owner was amazing to work with. If it were any better I couldn’t stand myself!!
Very nice place too stay. I do wish the pond had better access around it. The fishing is perfect for little kids. All we caught were smallmouth 8-12 in. Which we caught plenty, but I was looking for big largemouth. The pond is very clean and healthy but unfortunately I believe the fish are stunted. The sign is, when all you catch is the same species and sizes. The pond has some awesome potential! Hosts were easy to work with. Overall it was a very nice place too stay.
The cabin is quaint and peaceful. The veiws are beautiful. Well stocked and very sufficient for our needs. Did a bit of fishing on the pond and caught some nice bass on the fly rod. We visited the area to drive the backroads and enjoy the fall colors.
We had a great stay. The cabin is off the beaten path and it allowed us to disconnect from the world for a couple of days with our dog. We enjoyed sitting outside by the fire and watching our dog swim in the lake. The boat was fun to paddle out in the early evening. We didn’t fish but they sure were jumping. My only negative experiences were a couple of bugs in the cabin, one in the sink and one in the room on one
Of the iPads. It’s a cabin, it’s to be expected. The cabin was immaculate. The other item was that ahead of the trip I was informed of damages left by prior visitors and it was also restated on a note on the counter. It made me feel uncomfortable to know this and made me a little apprehensive for the rest of the trip. Also, this cabin was recommended to me by a prior guest who spoke highly of the trip and then received a low rating for cleanliness, overall, and house rules and they did not get a reason why from the host. This also lessened my enjoyment because I knew they had such a great time and the review left them confused and again, left us afraid to truly enjoy the stay in a relaxed state.
The property was well maintained, and the perfect escape into the country. I made a mistake in the check in process and the hosts were extremely understanding and helpful with helping me get it straightened out. My wife, dog, baby and I had a great time, and we had a great time catching (and releasing) a ton of bass. The property offered so much to do, and so much entertainment for little ones. Can’t recommend this spot enough, and look forward to returning for another stay in the future.
Perfect place to relax and get back into nature! Plenty of fishing supplies, space for kids to play, lots of wildlife! A wodnerful getaway from the hustle and bustle of city lofe with schoolaged children. Will absolutely return!
