About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Tranquil Period Cottage On The Edge Of Tideswell, 5 mins stroll to centre.

Butterfield Cottage, couldn't be better placed for a self catering holiday for 6 in the Peak District National Park. It lies in the heart of the national park in a quiet spot on the edge of Tideswell, just a 5 minute stroll from shops, pubs and tearooms. Completely refurbished, it provides bright and airy accommodation. Stylishly decorated throughout in English country cottage style, with good quality furniture and antiques to create an extremely comfortable and relaxing environment complete with all the modern facilities required for a perfect self catering holiday. It has some of the best views in Tideswell across the dale and is not overlooked. The cottage has a lovely outdoor sitting and dining area to the front of the cottage and free Wi Fi. It's particularly suited to families with older children and groups getting together, and for those who enjoy walking, culture and outdoor pursuits.

Would Recommend!
Accommodation was clean, comfortable, within close walking distance to a few eateries and shops, and near Peak District favorites such as Chatsworth House and Bakewell. The children especially enjoyed the playground just across from the back garden. Our only disappointment was that the listing said there was a hot tub, but that must have been an error. All in all a great stay!

Nice cottage in lovely setting
Very nice cottage, much bigger than it looks from the outside. Charming setting too. The second shower room was very useful. All facilities and equipment you may need. Comfortable sofas and beds. Good communication from host. Tea and milk on arrival was very welcome.

Sweet Interlude
Our family was driving back from a trip to Scotland and then on to London, so this pretty cottage in Tideswell was a welcome and lovely 2 day stop over. The cottage was so nicely appointed and cozy. We loved the gardens and the walks into town. We highly recommend the Anchor Inn for the food and the friendly staff. The owner was super responsive to a question when we arrived. I cannot say enough nice things about the lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Wished we could have stayed a week!

Nice home on the outskirts of Tideswell
We chose this property purely because we wanted to be in Tideswell. It’s a nice house - nothing special, but with everything we needed. (Except for a tumble dryer, which the property description seemed to claim it had.) Small bedrooms, but comfortable. Although there are 2 bathrooms they are both upstairs - a downstairs WC would have been nice. The house is located at the top of town, so you are required to walk up a steep hill to get back every time you go into town. Overall, no complaints.

Picturesque Village, Excellent Cottage
We loved our time in the Peak District and Tideswell was the perfect base for us. This adorable cottage was a little hard to find, but friendly neighbors showed us the easy parking area near the back of cottage and all was well. The tranquil private view from the front patio was one of the big benefits. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Relaxing stay
We had a lovely two weeks here. Unfortunately the weather was not great but it didn’t stop us. The house is great, everything we needed. Plenty of seating. There was always parking available. The bedrooms are cosy and comfortable, everyone slept well and the showers were powerful and warm, which is not always the case in other places we have stayed! We visited Bakewell. Buxton (Buxton Caves are worth a visit), Alton Towers, Stoke. Matlock Bath and more. Met up with friends in Derby, plus walking and cycling. All in all we had a great time and didn’t want to come home.

Could be better
Initial appearance of the property was not very inviting and disappointing eg paint peeling and generally looked rundown .inside was clean but something had been put on the tables was very sticky.the kitchen was well equipped and easy to use The rear of the property was not very inviting as it appeared not to have not been swept for sometime The mattresses of the two front bedrooms were not great ! Sitting room comfortable. Appreciated occasional use of Boiler in evenings Best facility the patio for breakfast and dinner weather permitting

Cottage in Tideswell
This is a perfectly positioned property: near to a couple of village shops but you can also literally walk from the house out into the countryside. The view from the terrace out front is wonderful.

Great location
Enjoyed the Peak District from this central local. Be sure to enjoy the Mechants Yard for dinner and the Anchor Pub. Enjoyed the Tideswell Dale to Millers Dale trail and the Anglers Rest pub. Saw Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Lea Gardens 500 varieties of rhododendron, Longshaw trails, Bakewell, Castleton/Cavedale trail, and the beautiful wood carvings of John the Baptist Church there in Tideswell.

Gute Lage, schlechter Zustand
