The Kedleston Country House

4.0 star property
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (52)
"Really lovely nights stay in the Curzon Room. High ceilings, big comfy bed, well equipped and spacious. Bathroom had a lovely roll top bath and powerful rainfall shower. The whole building feels warm and cozy, well decorated and looked after. We didn’t eat dinner there but the breakfast was excellent. Quality produce used, attentive staff, great range of choices for a BnB all well cooked. Perfect poached eggs. I can see why this place won Four in a Bed. Would certainly return again. "

"This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!"

"Everything was excellent. My only concern was the very poor drive leading from Staden Lane: huge pot holes in a rough surface made this an unfriendly approach, one not appreciated by my car."

"The hotel is very tastefully decorated and modern the staff very helpful and friendly the food excellent and cost was very reasonable. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was right at the front off the hotel it did have modern double glazed windows but they were useless the traffic outside never stopped until after midnight and restarted around 4 am.I am quite a heavy sleeper but this had to be the worst night’s sleep I’ve experienced at a hotel, the bed looked lovely but we couldn’t turn over...

Ziz was the perfect host, what a lovely place the Sheriff Lodge is, close to town and 5 mins from a lovely nearby pub for an evening meal.
