A garage / entertainment room above garage and the landscape in back yard renovation. In the future someone could use the home and use of the 24 x 32 room for entertainment, pool, darts and entertainment. Once the concrete wall is placed for the yard increase, the parking lot and views will be awesome. Once the yard is done we will be builidng a bbq pit and sitting area for gatherings.

Willing to rent the whole home out per month. Inquire if you are interested for much better rate.

Home away from home...
This is a charming historic house in uptown Butte. Has been nicely restored and is very comfy. We needed a home away from home for the holidays as our house is torn apart right now. This fit our needs perfectly. Not crazy about the location but the views are amazing...Glad we have a 4-wheel drive truck to climb the steep ally and access off street parking. The host was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with.

Wonderful View
Just beautiful! Garage is a work in progress, so you may have to dodge workers during the day, but the place is gorgeous. One warning: low-riding vehicles will scrape going up to park.

Butte Vacation
This property was absolutely perfect for my family. Plenty of space to spread out, and the covered porch was my absolute favorite part of the home. It was very easy to communicate with the owner/manager. Right uptown Butte, so we had a beautiful view. Loved every part of our stay.

Love uptown
We were a family of seven and it was a great house for us. Fantastic views and it was great to be in the centre of uptown, so close to Park Street and all the other cultural sites of Butte.

We loved it!
Very nice, very clean place in a quiet neighborhood close to many attractions. The house was spotless when we arrived and easily accommodated the six people in our group. It's spacious and well equipped. Communication with the owner was great and we had an easy check in. The location is a little tricky to find depending on your GPS. Mine worked fine, but my dad had trouble with his. The house sits high on the hill overlooking Butte so the view is pretty nice. The roads around it are steep and would be a little tricky to go around the back if you have a vehicle with low ground clearance. Parking on the street out front would not be an issue though. There is construction going on behind the place but that didn't really affect our stay. Overall we had a great time, and we'll look to stay here again next time we're in town.

Nice stay with a promise of hope
The owner was quick to help with any questions. At first it was a bit confusing to check in. Reached out to owner and he was quick to call. Home was comfortable and easy to get awaited with. Location was a little hard to get to if you are not familiar with uptown Butte. Lots of kitchen items to use. Plenty of bedding and extra towels. Nice and updated rooms. But still felt authentic to the date of the history of Butte. Only down fall was technology. Must provide your own hotspot. If you don’t have the data please be prepared to not having internet or the ability to use the tvs. There is an apartment under the main floor. Never heard them and they are very respectful. Owner is working to upgrade the property and building a garage. With this going on there was limited parking and workers where onsite daily to complete the additional garage. Not as private as thought it would be. Suggest reach out prior to owner to get directions on how to reach the property

Terrible experience
When we arrived around 8:30-9:00pm in the evening, there was already a man staying there who was neither a VRBO guest nor the homeowner. He claimed he was a friend of the owners and was doing some construction in the backyard for him. The man was actively smoking marijuana and offered us some of it (which we declined) so the whole place smelled like weed and cigarettes. Needless to say, we had to find a different place to stay for the 2 nights. Luckily the Finlan had a room available. To date we have only received a partial refund and fully intend on getting the rest back one way or another. This caused us a major headache late at night and was by far the most bizarre experience I’ve ever had on VRBO. We ended up getting a suite at the Finlan for cheaper than this VRBO house.

Good, Bad, & Ugly
This is a complicated review because there were some good things about the stay and some bad things. It is clearly a work in progress and will probably be nice when done, so I will start with the good: A good location near uptown Butte and reasonably priced. The inside of the house was nicely remodeled and very clean. It really is a neat old house. The host responded promptly and helped change our dates when we had a conflict pop up. However, he did fail to disclose some things in a timely manner, as discussed below. The bad: The description was not entirely accurate. It listed two queen beds, one double bed, two twin beds and a futon. There were only two true beds in the house. A double bed downstairs and a queen bed upstairs. There was a futon in one of the downstairs bedrooms, with no real bed. Upstairs was a queen bed only, with no futon as listed. The other downstairs bedroom did have a double bed and a twin hide-a-bed. We had 5 in our group and the house was pretty full. Also, there were not nearly enough plates, utensils, etc. for 8 people. There was barely enough for the 5 of us. Not a major issue for us, but would not be enough for a bigger party. The ugly: When I reserved the house (granted 4 months in advance), Wifi was included and there was a nice backyard with a spot to pull a car in and unpack. When we got there, it had changed and neither of these things were available. There was no wifi, which was not a huge deal for us, but still a change we didn't know about. A bigger issue was the side/back yard was completely torn apart and un-useable and inaccessible. We did not know this until the day before our stay when we got the code to the door and it was too late to change. This also created a hazard because the front door key didn't work. You had to walk around to the back door to unlock the house. This took you through the construction zone where a large chunk of the walkway was missing. You had to step over a section of the broken walkway with about a 3-foot drop. All in all, the place worked for us as we were just happy to be spending some time in Montana and are very low maintenance. I do feel there were things that should have been disclosed prior to our stay and a more accurate description of the property, but we made it work.

Great stay
The stay in Butte was a great time for our kids and coaches. The only complaint we had was the parking and outside area of the house. It is under renovations. When it is finished this is an excellent place to stay and being so close to uptown Butte is a bonus. We walked to many places plus we were super close to the Montana Tech. The beds were comfortable for our 5 night stay and there was plenty of room for everyone. It was nice to have a full kitchen and 2 very nice bathrooms.

Former Mayor's Home
This property was adorable. Built in the 1900's we loved the all the character this home had. It has been updated very nicely. With that being said, there are a few suggestions that I have. There are no outlets in the downstairs bathroom, making getting ready difficult. There were exactly 5 towels, 5 bowls and 5 plates. This home says it accommodates up to 8 people. I'm not really sure how. There definitely needs to be more items in the home. It is also not stated there is someone living below you (she was very nice) and behind you on the property. I feel that should be shared. There is NO WIFI and the TV would not work without it. Again, this stuff should be noted for future guests. Overall, the house was adorable and well maintained though. These are a few suggestions that I have.

This is a shared house, with people downstairs. They were up pretty late and loud. It would be good information to put in the listing so people know before they go. That said, it was a good price and cool building and clean!

One big hiccup but all the rest was very good
Beautiful view especially at night. Thoroughly & well remodeled to preserve its historic feel. Price is very reasonable. Owner answered promptly. We were allowed early check in and it was clean. Nice, thick towels. Good location for getting downtown and historic tours. It needs to stock more glasses, bowls, and eating ware in general. The key code should perhaps be given when balance is paid and not morning of arrival. Had to use back door as owner suggested since front door is hard to use/open. Most critically: the # of beds on the online listing needs to be accurate - I have the screen shots showing its VRBO listing said that it sleeps 8, has 8 beds, & VRBO showed 8 separate beds when I booked (in the "Rooms & Beds" section of the listing). It then changed to less after I booked. In the end there were 4 beds & 1 cot, and will sleep 8 if you share beds. The owner's response when I pointed out the bed change in his listing was at first "I'm not one to be bothered" and offered to cancel us 2 days out. After wards he showed that he is willing to make the listing accurate. We brought air mattresses at the last minute. It also listed itself as 1 1/2 baths and it is truly 2 nice full baths. Listing needs to be corrected. Otherwise a good find!
