"Friendly staff and an amazing view from our balcony!"

"What a beautiful place to end our travels in Italy. The region of Abruzzo is stunning and the villa is well appointment and ideal for a large group to spread out. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with everything needed to prepare and enjoy meals indoors or a La fresco in the lovely gardens. We visited during Pasquetta and were so well taken care of by Silviu and his wife who own a little cafe and pizzeria in town, the pizza was some of the best we had. There is so much to see in the neighboring towns and we highly recommend the hike to see the Cascada di San Giovanni. Although we were visiting while the pool was not open we still were able to enjoy sitting on the lounge furniture to relax and take in the sunshine. We highly recommend staying here and wish we could have had a few more days to take in more of the sights of the area."

"When I see near perfect online reviews, I’m sometimes suspicious if they’re ‘real’ reviews. But after staying here I’m wondering why everyone didn’t give perfect reviews. “Wow!” This property is beautiful! The location, property, rooms, and service were all outstanding. Our stay was in mid-March and while there was still a wintery feel outside, the trees were starting to bud and we had amazing weather. It’s very peaceful at this location with beautiful views all around. The room was beautiful and had a rustic feel but was clean, well designed, well decorated, great use of space, and had modern amenities. The communities in the area are enjoyable and there are natural as well as historical attractions in the area. The previous two places we had stayed on our road trip vacation had horrible beds. We were so relieved to arrive and find a very comfortable and spacious bed that allowed us to get great sleep. My only complaint about the room is that the headboard and footboard of the bed were not actually attached to the frame holding the mattress. Because of this, if I accidentally touched either the headboard or footboard, it easily moved and squeaked a lot. Since I’m taller I had to try to place myself perfectly in the middle to avoid bumping with my head or feet while sleeping. They offer breakfast and dinner services. We only took them up on one day of breakfast since we were out exploring the area all the other times. We hope to be able to go back soon to stay here."

"The hotel is lovely and very clean and the staff including Franco who was extremely friendly and accommodating, and Chef Marco whose homemade pastas were so delicious. We had a beautiful terrace which overlooked beautiful scenery. On Sunday morning, we were serenaded with a cacophony of church bells ringing simultaneously. It was simply beautiful. Although my tastes are more modern, for those who appreciate antiques and old world ambiance, Grande Albergo Is perfect. "

"This hotel is a memorable trip back in time. Sextantio purchased and renovated 30 rooms in the village, each one with a different character, charm, and challenge. The rooms were restored with basic amenities, but it is easy to imagine the simple life people lived centuries ago. The atmosphere is reinforced with candlelight and fireplaces. Upon entering the historic dining room or the Cantinone, you may be motivated to take pictures prior to eating your sumptuous breakfast or relaxing with an afternoon drink. Although the evening meal was acceptable, be sure to check out other restaurants in the village that offer local menu options. Our family group was made up of senior citizens (70-80), so we experienced a few challenges during our stay. The cobblestone lanes can be slick, even when dry, so be sure to where sturdy shoes with hiking soles, and walk carefully. Parking is distant from the hotel complex, so ask for assistance when moving your luggage. The bathroom areas in some rooms are very small and minimally lit. Given this historic inconvenience, we weren’t motivated to shower. The village is still recovering from the earthquake of 2009, so cranes and construction crews provide a sobering reminder of the courage and commitment it takes to preserve ancient communities. The dramatic beauty of area mountains is attractive for hikers, but you’ll be sharing dirt roads with bikers as you seek solitude. This was a memorable stay overall, thanks to Sextantio. "
