3 wonderful weeks
We spent 3 weeks on this beautiful property, with our two kids and dog. The beds were very comfortable, the entertainment/ game room were a blast, the sauna was a bonus. The town of Burnsville was lovely. And the view was just amazing to wake up to everyday. It was a great place to call home for a couple weeks. Having the park nearby was lovely. For the cost of the property, They could certainly do with updating the patio furniture from broken wicker, and a plastic picnic table,to something a little nicer to enjoy that beautiful view more comfortably . The only thing I'd note, is everything we did, like hikes, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, breweries (except for the local),vineyards, and the ER were a 35-50 minute drive away. We we're restricted to hikes for young kids, so there may be some closer ones they were longer. We did the children's museum in Ashville, and the wildlife center outside Asheville which were both great things to do. Other people have commented, the drive up to the house is not for the faint hearted, but it's something you get used to quickly. We were there in summer, so our 2 wheel drive SUV was fine, but if it were icy or snowy, there no way we would have made it. Also, people have mentioned the neighbors dogs, they are a bit noisy, but it never bothered us much. It definitely wouldn't put us off staying again. The property managers were extremely receptive to any issues we had, there was a plumbing issue that they took care of in a very timely manner.

Exceeded All Expectations...
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Blackberry Ridge Lodge! The location was easy to reach at the top of the ridge with paved road to the driveway. The home was very comfortable for us and our two dogs. We enjoyed the spacious main level and outside deck where we would drink our coffee in the mornings. We felt very at home here and our dogs did too! Cane River Park at the bottom of Blackberry Ridge is a beautiful sports complex with dog park and walking trail along the Cane River that became our evening dog walk during our stay. We would then pick wild blackberries next to the river before driving back up to the house for the evening. While the rest of the country is feeling the July heat, we enjoyed low temps in the 60s and high temps in 70s at Blackberry Ridge Lodge. It was perfect! The property is close to lots of attractions. Downtown Burnsville has a quaint town square with lots of great restaurants and shops. Mount Mitchell State Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Crabtree Falls, Roan High Knob, Asheville, and Spruce Pine are all within reach easily from this property. Be sure to stop by Davis Farms nearby on Cane River School Rd to get some of their fresh produce during your stay. Pig & Grits is a popular breakfast and BBQ restaurant in Burnsville that has the best banana pudding! Mountain Time Mercantile in Burnsville has a huge inventory of products made by local artisans. There is so much to see and do in Burnsville. Thanks for making our visit feel like home!

The cabin was beautiful and tucked away among the trees providing plenty of privacy. The cozy fireplace in the living room welcome you to relax. The A frame deck allows for an amazing view during the day. At night the open deck gives the most spectacular view of the light show in the sky. We can't wait to stay again.

Great Cabin - So-So Location
My family of 3 reserved six nights. The cabin is lovely and well-appointed overall. Check-in was seamless and everything was clean. The cabin is not secluded as photos would imply. It is next door to another cabin whose owner has small dogs who bark when left outdoors. This and some nearby construction on another nearby cabin made it difficult (impossible) for us to enjoy the outdoor space, deck, etc. The manager did attempt to resolve this issue to the best of her ability. It should also be noted that the cabin has its entrances on the second level so stairs are a regular occurrence. Access was not a problem for us although steep. Not what we expected but we did have some lovely times in the surrounding areas and even saw snow in March!

Perfect
There’s too much to type! Everything about the stay was perfect! It was a pleasant surprise to find out we were at the top of the mountain! It was the very last house. Surrounding wooded area was beautiful to hike in and the nearby park was a great bonus! The local shopping and food in Burnsville was top notch. The only thing this cabin is missing is a hot tub, which I would normally say, this time of year wasn’t even necessary, but I am delighted to add that this location was 10° cooler than my home in coastal South Carolina and it was a welcoming change of climate!! While temperatures reach the high 90s here at home, lows were in the 50s there at night and the fire pit, although we didn’t use it because we really enjoyed the cool temperatures, was the perfect touch! Everyone we encountered was so friendly from the local general store to the brewery in town. The neighbors seemed very friendly as well, but they kept to themselves mostly.

Relaxing Stay
The property was as advertised! It was clean and had everything we needed for the week. The beds were comfortable and it was a nice setup for us and our two teens. The driveway didn’t bother us as we have a 4 wheel drive, and we went up and down every day we were at the cabin. There is a nice county park that we took advantage of everyday which allowed us to stay active with running and bodyweight exercises. Easy drives to multiple towns, as we went to Mars Hill due to our son in a basketball camp for the week during our stay.

Beautiful view, beautiful home
This home is 3 levels with the main living area on the 2nd floor (mentioning this as the home is not handicap accessible for those who may need it). The road up to the home is paved but VERY narrow and VERY steep. Thankfully during our 3 day stay we never met an oncoming vehicle as there would have been nowhere to pull off to let a car pass. Also, if visiting this home in the winter, 4 wheel drive would absolutely be necessary to make it up the steep incline. But if you want the gorgeous views, you have to climb to get to them. The home itself was beautiful with a wrap around porch and stunning views. The inside was very clean. The kitchen is stocked with just about everything needed to do your own cooking. The 2nd floor bathroom has a shower only, no tub. The bathroom on the 3rd floor (loft) has a tub/shower combo. It rained 2 days straight during our stay, unfortunately, but there were plenty of board games to play along with the ping pong table, foosball table, and darts on the first floor 'basement'. The home is located close to Burnsville. We ate at the Pig & Grits restaurant and the Hog Hollow Pizza restaurant, both really good. There is also an Ingles grocery store nearby. There are two homes close by so if complete seclusion from others is what you're looking for, this isn't it. But the gorgeous views and gorgeous home is worth it.

Gorgeous property near Burnsville; close enough to enjoy the town’s shopping and sites, but far enough for a little peace and quiet! The cabin is set atop a little mountain, a bit of a climb to reach but well worth it for the views and the peace and quiet. It had all of the amenities of home, but in paradise!

This cabin is PERFECT if you’re looking for gorgeous views in secluded cabin atmosphere with everything completely stocked in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms. The fireplace was an amazing touch along with having some seriously comfortable beds and furniture. Coffee and/or cocktails on the wrap around balcony is the best way to start and end your day. I wish we would have booked 2 weeks instead of one week since it was so cozy. The town of Burnsville is quaint and friendly and great for day trips to Asheville, Hendersonville, and Boone! We will definitely be back in either the spring or fall to see the area in full bloom!

Mountain cabin getaway
We enjoyed our weekend in this gorgeous mountain cabin. Burnsville is a cute little town with plenty of things to do, plus it's close to lots of fun mountain activities. We went to the observatory, Linville Caverns and did lots of shopping in the local book stores. One night we didn't leave the cabin at all, opting instead to play ping pong and darts downstairs. It was a lovely rental and we enjoyed our time here.

Secluded spot one mile up a semi-private one-lane drive. Window wall and front deck look east. Great spot for sunrise and coffee. Plenty of towels and blankets. Well-equipped kitchen. Local park within walking distance has fishing, playground equipment, a ¾ mile walking/jogging loop, and the occasional soccer match. Plenty of white-tail deer in the neighborhood. Excellent super-market (Ingles) just 5 miles away. We loved our stay and would happily visit again.

This cabin really has everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing stay. We throughly enjoyed our family visit, and appreciated being able to cook a few meals while also being close enough to town and to Asheville for a few nice meals out. The grocery store Ingles has everything and is a short drive from the cabin- they have great bakery and deli selections too. The best parts of the trip were the peaceful moments on the deck watching the sunrise and sunset. And our dogs loved it too- as one reviewer said, the gate on the deck is great to keep them in and keep them safe. We had such a nice time and can’t wait to go back!
