"We came from the east cost of America to visit the Rhône valley wine area. The cottage was perfect stay for our trip. The road in and out of town is quite rural and driving should done with caution. "

"Lovely modern gite in the heart of Ardeche and equiped to a high standard. The driveway is a bit steep for a low profile car, mine ended up with scrapes under the bumpers but with care it was possible to monoeuvre. In truth the only real downer was the pool which is the largest I've ever seen for the sole use of a single gite but was simply too cold. I was assured the pool was heated but you couldn't tell, such a shame."

Night-time and early morning temperatures were low due to the altitude, but it soon warmed up and by lunchtime it was quite hot. Le Chambon-sur-Lignon is quite small, but it has all the shops you might need during your stay (bakers, supermarkets, ice-cream parlours, pharmacy, etc.).
