Stay at the Lavender Shack
We had a perfect stay in the Lavender Shack. It’s so comfortable and well equipped. Great outdoor space with comfy chairs to enjoy the good weather. And well located not far from shops, a pub, and short drive to coast...plus great place to bring your bikes . Friendly, helpful owners too. Highly recommend .

Super chic-cosy bolthole
The Lavender Shack is a super stylish yet cosy and practical bolt hole for two. It's very well equipped if you want to cook at home, with everything you could possibly need in the way of kitchen utensils and crockery / pans / bowls ... everything! We appreciated the superking bed and the large shower cubicle too. Being February, the weather wasn't exactly balmy, but the underfloor heating and cute woodburner meant that we were always toasty warm in the house. The outside space is large and, again, stylishly configured - I imagine it will be glorious to sit outside in the warmer months! The Shack is well located for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk; the delughtful town of Bungay is easily walkable and we also walked miles elsewhere - Norfolk County Council's website is excellent for downloadable and printable walking maps. Recommended for eating out are The Olive Tree in Cane Kirby; Suffolk Stonehouse for pizza on Bungay; and The Fleece (again in Bungay; very good food). We also walked to The Artichoke in Broome, which is minutes away and us a friendly local which does reasonably priced bar meals. All in all we had a very enjoyable week.

Lovely place to stay
Everything you would want in a quiet week away for 2. The Shack is a cosy little bolt hole very warm and comfortable. We did a lot of cooking and kitchen is well equipped for this. Enough wood for a good few days for log burner, comfortable bed, great shower. Very relaxing week.

A beautiful holiday home
We had a fantastic stay in the Lavender Shack. The location is semi rural but still close to civilisation. The living room and bedroom are ideal for two people and the bed really comfortable. The outside space is private with plenty of seating available. It was spotlessly clean. Our only problem was that it gets quite hot inside when it is sunny and with it being all on the ground floor we didn’t want to keep windows open at night. We would not hesitate to recommend the Lavender Shack to anyone looking for a peaceful place to stay. We were delighted to receive a bouquet of flowers from the owners before we set off on our journey home.

Delightful ‘shack’ but rather expensive for one couple.
It was a delightful ‘shack’ - with everything we needed - except for a shade to go over the outside table - the weather was very hot and we would have liked to eat outside! The flowers were lovely as was the gift of flowers for us to take home - however it’s the first place we’ve been to where there was no ‘welcome pack’ - usually there is something like milk/bread /cake or even a bottle of wine. The location was fine - very private. We felt it was rather expensive as it was only for one couple

Lovely Holiday Home
The Lavender Shack was the perfect holiday home. The location is in the countryside and very quiet and yet you can walk to the next village to a very well stocked supermarket. The actual home is wonderful, full of charm and light and set in a lovely garden. We enjoyed watching the bees and butterflies every day on the lavender that surrounds the patio. We had flowers left on the dining table for us to enjoy while we were there and found a box of the most wonderful home grown cut flowers to take home with us, a lovely touch. There is everything you need for cooking in the great kitchen area. The shower is was large and was wonderfully powerful. The bedroom was one of my favourite rooms. It was large and very light and had a patio door to the outside, which was a luxury. All in all it was very clean, well presented and a lovely and comfortable place to come back to after a day out. Would thoroughly recommend and would certainly go back again.

Wonderful Lavender Shack
I’m just back from a fabulous week staying at The Lavender Shack in Broome. The property was just as lovely as the photos and didn’t disappoint. Super comfy bed and lovely fluffy towels. A beautiful flower arrangement was there when we arrived and a gorgeous hand tied bouquet was left for us to take home on the last day. Lovely and quiet and lots of great places to visit less than half an hours drive away. Highly recommend The Fleece Inn in Bungay. Terrific food and service. Will definitely be back! Lavender Shack
We thought the Lavender Shack was a very comfortable, well-equipped place to stay. Furnished and laid out with great thought and care, it provided us with a good base for a week away. Checking in was easy, through the information supplied by Norfolk Hideaways. Although we did not get to meet the owner, it was a wonderful surprise to receive a going-away bouquet of beautiful flowers, grown on the farm - they are still looking wonderful even 10 days after our returning home! I've scored Customer Service at average simply because the booking process, checking in, information provided, was all as I would have expected. The customer service in terms of how the Lavender Shack was equipped and presented was excellent. Whilst when I booked I could see from the angle of the photographs displayed on Norfolk Hideaways that the shack was near a road, and a crossroads, I hadn't appreciated quite how close it was, nor how busy the road is, particularly at peak times. Noise from the road and also from the neighbouring house (which I think offers holiday caravan stays) where some building work was ongoing, was a little intrusive - thankfully the weather was good and we were mainly away from the house during the day, sitting on the terrace might not have been as enjoyable as we had hoped. Nearby Bungay offers great food shopping from the independent deli, green grocers and fishmonger - a real plus. We were disappointed by walks from the doorstep, even with our OS maps, we found it tricky to avoid the surrounding. A little local insight might have helped us. For us the Lavender Shack was a perfect property, supremely comfortable, just not quite in the perfect location for us!

The Lavender Shack - a perfect retrear
Excellent holiday rental. No actual complaints at all. If we wanted to nick pick then a chest of drawers in the bedroom would have been helpful as there is only a wardrobe. Would most certainly stay again.

Fabulous in every way :)
The Lavender Shack is perfect! From the beautiful, modern furnishings to the well equipped kitchen, the lovely comfortable, super-king bed, the cosy log burner and delightful location, this is the whole package. Lovely walking around the Broome Pits across the road and plenty of villages and towns nearby for provisions and to explore provided a great spot for a long weekend (and a small supermarket within walking distance for last minute buys). And then a thoughtful touch in addition to the fresh flowers on arrival, a lovely gift of more fresh flowers appeared for our departure - lovely. Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy an amazing first getaway following months of lockdown due to the pesky virus. (just one small thing, unless we misread the map, the directions suggest the Lavender Shack is on the right when it is actually on the left of the road - and vice versa from the other direction. Not an issue but did confuse us on arrival).

Perfect Relaxing Break
Really beautiful barn conversion (looks just like the photos) in a peaceful, super quiet countryside setting. They have really thought of everything, the outdoor area is planted with beautiful flowers, the wood burner makes it super cosy, the bed is so comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need for cooking on holiday. The location is great for exploring Norfolk & Suffolk, so close to the beach, and if you don't want to get in the car everyday there are beautiful walks right on the door step. We can't wait to go back, highly recommend.
