This property is definitely a hidden gem! Perfect distance to Bryson City/Cherokee and GSM National Park. Cabin was in pristine condition. Host communication was quick, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely rebook in the summer to take advantage of the rafting/tubing in the area. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and using the fire pit in the back area. There was a nice hot tub, but the weather was a little too chilly for us this time. Thank you for sharing your home with us. 5 STARS
This property lived up to the description. The property was cleaned and easy access to local restaurants and activities. The porch is wonderful for just sitting and enjoying nature. The jacuzzi was just the perfect touch for additional relaxation.
My only negative would be the towels provided should be white.
Absolutely perfect! Location is so nice and accessible without 4-wheel drive. Secluded but still close to town. The covered front porch is awesome. We loved that it was sooo quiet. The cabin is nicely furnished and comfortable. We also loved the hot tub!
Next time we may bring our pooch! Hopefully there is a next time soon!

This cabin is very nice and comfy. Enjoyed our stay in Bryson City. Rode the train, hiked the trails to see the waterfalls, did some shopping, and ate at some good restaurants. The cabin was well stocked.Definitely will be back again.
Tucked away off the beaten path, quiet, peaceful and cozy.
The cabin has everything you need - fully stocked kitchen, and a great hot tub. Would definitely stay at Helen's Hideaway again.
We had such a wonderful time at this house! It was even better than the listing. So peaceful and quiet and quaint. Perfect for a short trip without the kids! We will definitely be back!!
Perfect stay for a weekend get away with your person. We went to
The casino Saturday night and had a lazy day Sunday making snacks, watching the nascar race, then grilling and hot tubbing. The fireplace in the bedroom is romantic as it the fire pit by the hottub! We had a mobile massage therapist come in, she was great…and lives super close by, so she was there on short notice. Her magnet is on the fridge!

Repeat visitor. My wife and I needed some time away to relax and escape from the grind of stressful jobs and reconnect. When we were discussing possible destinations, we recalled our visit several years ago and immediately checked the availability. Everything was exactly like we remembered. Highly recommended.
Super cute cabin tucked away perfectly! Couldn’t have asked for better! I wish we could’ve stayed longer but we’ll be back for sure! The NOC offered an awesome whitewater rafting experience and is only 8 minutes away. They do other tours but we were only there for the weekend. 10/10 recommend this place!
This was such a perfect setting for a long weekend. Got to see and do lots of things and the Cabin was spot on! Everything we could have asked for and then some.
I actually got engaged on our trip. The benches by the Fire Pit was a perfect setting and she said YES 😁. That being said, I’m sure we will be back to celebrate the BIG DAY. After all is called the Honeymoon Hideaway.

The cabin was just as described, comfortable and relaxing. The bed was extremely comfortable. Best night's sleep ever, especially with the rain on the tin roof! We enjoyed the hot tub, just steps away from the bedroom, accessible from a side door not 10 feet away from hot tub! The cabin was close enough to Sylva where we enjoyed seafood at Creekside Oyster House & Grill. We returned to Sylva after a day on the Dragon's Tail and in Townsend, for a great brewery experience. Just close enough to great places without being in the city. The best part was how responsive Karen was to our messages. Immediate response! A little slice of heaven in this cabin. They thought of everything!
My wife and I live "down the mountain" in Greenville, SC. We don't get a lot of snow here. Usually it's flurries or a dusting, not much accumulation and gone in a day or so at most. So when we heard there could be a few inches of snow in the mountains of western North Carolina, we decided to run up for a few days. We found this cabin and it turned out to be what we were looking for: a beautiful little cabin hideaway for the two of us. We weren't interested in skiing, hiking, going to the casino or nightlife. We took the food and drinks we would need. It would have been okay with us if we had gotten showed in, but that didn't happen. What we did have was a relaxing respite in a romantic setting.
The cabin had everything we needed. It was clean and everything worked. We weren't going to try the hot tub outside, but how many 1 bedroom cabins have a gas fireplace in both the family room and bedroom! If you want wood, there's a firepit outside by the hot tub. LOL 😆

Disappointed
When we turned down the bed, the sheets had been slept in .. we contacted owner and she did not seem to believe us. She told us the sheets were probably wrinkled because the housekeeper takes them home to wash and brings them back in a bag .. there was a head print in the bed as well as specks of dirt on the bottom .. we had to wash them and remake the bed . The owner did text and let us know that the housekeeper would come out the next day.. we did not have her come as we took care of the problem.. our disappointment was in the owners attitude.. she clearly did not believe us. The cabin was as we expected, and looked like the pictures .. we also had to sweep the porch of leaves and spider webs. This is understandable in the woods, but obviously had not been done recently.. we would not recommend this cabin .. thank you
We booked Helen’s Hideaway to spend some time relaxing & see the fall colors. When we arrived, we unloaded the car & headed to the grocery store. We went to lock the door, but when we checked it to ensure it was locked, it was not. We spent a half an hour fiddling with it to try to get it to actually lock. We called the owner & she said they’ve had problems with it but it’s the best it was going to be. She suggested locking it from the inside and leaving through the side door. Well, the front door could still be unlocked from the outside without a code upon locking it from the inside (scary thinking about going to bed that night & how we were going to get that door to lock). We finally managed to get it to lock & left out the side door, leaving just the knob locked. It was the same thing the next day so we decided we would leave out the side door again, but realized it could just be pushed open if the the deadbolt wasn’t engaged. So the cabin & all our valuables were left unsecured the evening before, under guidance & direction from the owner. We finally managed to get the front door to lock correctly after 15 minutes. I messaged the owner about both issues & she said she would go by to look at it. The side door was fixed but regarding the front door, she told us she was able to engage the lock several times with no issue, & she tried it “15 times to be certain”. A response like that made us feel like she thought we were lying. It is very frustrating when your safety is in question & you’re made out to feel like it’s incompetence on your part. When we arrived back to the cabin, we recorded a video of us walking up to the door & turning the deadbolt without the code & opening the door. A second day where our valuables were left unsecured, this time by the owner herself. After the video she said she misunderstood what we were saying & changed out the lock the next day. So in the end she made it right, but for half of our trip we battled that lock & what felt like just trying to get the owner to believe us that something was wrong. Some other things we noticed- there were some cob webs in the bathroom & around the mirror, some towels did not smell fresh which made us wonder if they had all been washed, dried sauce on the countertop, & a window was unlocked upon arrival. The trees are also more mature in front of the porch than when these pictures were taken. Not a big deal but just something to think about if you’re expecting more of an open view.
The cabin is awesome. Has everything you need. Really enjoyed that there was coffee and filters there for coffee next morning. Hot tub and cabin very clean. Would and hopefully stay there again. Great location.
We enjoyed our stay at the Helen's hideaway cabin. We visited there 5 years ago on our honeymoon and it was such a nice, restful and beautiful place.. we returned to celebrate our anniversary.
