Picturesque Door County Waterfront Cottage! Swim, Play, Relax...Have It All!

If you can envision a waterfront lot with mature trees and views straight out of a dream, thoughtful interior design and décor suited for a cozy waterfront cottage, and every creature comfort you could ask for in a Door County waterfront retreat...then you are envisioning The Bayhouse!

As you pull up to The Bayhouse, you will instantly feel the "Up North" pull and be met with the most beautiful and expansive water view. We have cultivated what we feel will be the most all-inclusive Door County stay one could ask for; ideal waterfront prime for swimming and fishing, included kayaks for guest use, a gas fireplace utilized by the flip of a switch, outdoor waterfront fire pit, outdoor furniture, interior touches that enhance your Door County vacation, and every creature comfort of home. Our property is located a mere 15 miles south of Sturgeon Bay allowing you the peace and tranquility only a property with this location can offer, while allowing for endless adventures travelling further North up the peninsula.

If you allow us the opportunity to host your stay, it will be an unforgettable experience with memories made to last a lifetime. This is your TRUE Door County getaway!

WELCOME!

*DISCLAIMER: Our pier was recently damaged and swept away in a large storm so there is no longer a pier. We do, however, have a concrete seawall at waters edge that allows for great waterfront access. The cottage is located in a more remote waterfront location and as such, our internet may experience intermittent spottiness. We have invested substantial resources in an attempt to improve the internet quality by switching providers and adding signal boosting equipment within the cottage. Also to note, the cottage utilizes a well and some guests may have an aversion to the hard water. The water is safe to drink but as an added convenience to our guests we provide filtered Culligan drinking water.

We had a great stay and really enjoyed the waterfront! The fire pit was an added bonus. The cottage was comfortable and clean. The owners were very accommodating in working with us with a difficult situation! Much appreciated!

Tranquil water
Easy access. Right on the water, which was warm enough to swim in. Kayaks available along with floaties. Not too far from Sturgeon Bay and its restaurants. Host also was accommodating. Great stay overall.

Great stay
Very nice property. Clean cozy and comfortable. Quiet neighohood. Clear view of the sunset on the bay with a nice fire. Stocked well had everything we needed. 20 minutes to srurgeon bay. And had several nice resturuants and resorts nearby. One hour and 20 to the washington island ferry. Worked great for us.

Bachelorette Weekend - 6 Women
Everything was super cute inside and the views outside were unbeatable. After reading other reviews, we were super conscious of our water use (arguably too much so) and didn't run into any issues. Already keeping this place in mind for future trips!

The place was just as advertised except you can't describe the view unless you experience it. Just beautiful! Nice chairs to sit and take it all in. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect for A girls getaway!
Booked this property for a girls getaway weekend! The property was beautiful and was well maintained, kept up and clean! We appreciated the Culligan water on the property as well! Our only feedback would be the house has a 6 gallon water heater. Unfortunately this was not listed in the VBRO listing. It would have been nice to know in advance. We made it work, but it would have been tough if we had brought more then the 4 girls on the trip. Otherwise everything was great! We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed our weekend away!

Beautiful view!
Beautiful view of the bay from this house! We absolutely loved our mornings of drinking coffee and relaxing before heading up the peninsula. It was a bit dark on the roads driving back each night, but it was well worth it. Would definitely book again for our next visit to Door County!

Lovely little house
The property was lovely, clean, and the listing was very accurate. The one note I'd have is similar to the other reviews - the water has a very strong sulfur smell. The owners, however, did provide alternate drinking water, but you should be prepared to have an interesting shower experience.

Clean, great location but a couple off issues
My husband and I stayed at this property with our adult daughter, her husband and their infant. Most important to us, the bungalow was clean. The owner provided plenty of towels and the kitchen was well equipped. A water cooler provided drinking water, thankfully, as the tap water smelled strongly of iron and thus was distasteful. We had access to kayaks and the yard had a grill and a fire pit, which made for pleasant evenings. Though there are enough beds to sleep eight adults (four in one large room upstairs and two each in two bedrooms), the bungalow is quite tight and may not be comfortable for more than four. A bigger problem, however, is the shower: It is miniscule, and it’s doubtful a larger person could fit. What’s more, the water heater is so small that, when taking showers, each of us turned the water on only long enough to get wet, then off while we lathered up; back on to rinse, then off to shampoo; and back on only to rinse again. Overall, the location and cleanliness made for a nice stay but the smell and availability of hot water were hard to ignore.

The property was as explained. The shower was smaller than expected but functional. The water was well water but for cooking bottled water was provided. Great views and quiet to come back to after a day up the coast.

Bachelorette Party
Rented this house for a bachelorette party. The location was great! We were a little over a half an hour from Green Bay so we could go to a few bars there but we also drove to sister bay the next day and the drive was about an hour. The house and the view were absolutely spectacular! Walking right in to the lake was so much fun. The sunsets were breathtaking. The loft bedroom worked great for a large group. We also enjoyed the use of the fire pit. I would absolutely stay at this place again.

Beautiful peaceful, great place to watch the sunset
We enjoyed renting this home for our 20th wedding anniversary. It was just the two of us but there would have been plenty room for our family of five. It was well set up inside for basic cooking. It was not a factor for our stay but the internet was so slow that it was unusable for us. Thank you for providing such a pretty and clean home!

This is a beautiful property! The location on the water and the sunsets could not be better! We also enjoyed the living room fireplace and comfy beds downstairs. With the upstairs, this would be a perfect family place to stay. We appreciated the supply of bottled water in the dispenser. Thank you so much!

Fall Getaway
Our college age daughters met my husband and I for a weekend away to hike and enjoy the fall colors. This place was perfect for us. The fireplace was enjoyed and added a cozy element. The views of the sunset were spectacular. It was a drive to get to the busy door county towns but we knew that when we booked. There was a nice fire pit outside. Very clean and comfortable.

Love the location of The Bayshore House
The property and location on the lake was perfect. The house was perfect for our group of the Four Decades. 60ish, 50ish, 40ish and 30ish. The water is sulfer-ish...but there is a Culligan fountain for drinking and cooking on premises. We made a fire each night outside and drank local wines and just enjoyed the peacefulness. The only downside of the Bayshore House was the wifi...the description of the property explained the Wifi is spotty. We all however, could not sign into the wifi...we kept getting incorrect password. I reached out to the host and left a message and never received a reply. Therefore I gave management communication a 3...to me, no response means the management is not communicative at all. A simple call to say anything would have made my overall score a 5. Otherwise...we were very pleased with the location.

Cool place, short on amenities
Quaint cabin just feet from Green Bay. Beautiful sunsets. Property was neat and clean. A light bulb or two were burnt out. No coffee on hand. Neighboring homes/cabins were very close. Couldn’t figure out how to turn on the gas fireplace. Otherwise instructions were very clear. The only queen bed was in the loft with two twin beds and a couch with TV — not very intimate.

An updated cottage to really disconnect
The stay was exactly as we had hoped, a clean, modern little home right on the water to really disconnect. The hosts are true to their word in the listing: the WiFi didn't work most of the time we were there, there's no pier from storm damage, the aren't outdoor chairs in addition to the tall patio set (as was brought up in another review), but this was information we knew going into it, so really can't knock it. I would just add that the barbecue works but is quite rusty inside so bring some tinfoil for grilling out and you'll be set. Everything is well organised and labeled in the home and there checkout checklist made everything clear and stress-free. The sunsets were unparalleled and we took advantage of the firepit on our last night - highly recommend!

Very Clean and Quiet
House and location are accurately represented in pictures. We stayed here with our 2 kids, ages 4 and 2, and had a nice time. House was super clean and well maintained. No dock by the water was a bit of a bummer as the shore is all rock, making water play challenging, but minor in the scheme of things. Host was very responsive to communication.
