This property was fantastic for my husband & I. The owners are incredibly friendly and the views simply cannot be beat. We had everything we needed and the property is in a great location to everything in Brookings!
The place was very nice. Comfortable beds, gorgeous views with access to the beach. It was quiet and felt very safe. Brookings is a small town with some nice restaurants. This part of the Oregon coast is amazing. We really enjoyed the pool table too.
Loved staying here. Right on a bluff overlooking a beautiful beach. Had coffee out on the bluff in the morning... We did not cook in the kitchen--just breakfast and lunch stuff, but kitchen did not seem equipped enough to whip up a gourmet meal. Beds very comfortable; hosts very responsive. Trail down to the beach is steep and is not "easy" but is totally doable-and the hosts provide good walking sticks!
Cut little basement apartment with an awesome view! As others have stated, it is dated but I found that charming. The living area was cozy. We went down to the beach a few times which was amazing. Pathway was a bit hard but found our way.

The beach access was a plus, but the quiet and the accomodation prepared for the stay was well thought out. Did I say it was quiet? It was very peaceful vacation Ive had in a while. A very good get away to escape the busy world for a minute. The seating right outside overlooking the ocean is just a good spot to stare into without any thought. 10/10 would do again.

Beautiful view!
We enjoyed the stay very much. But there are a few things that need corrected. There was ALOT of dead bugs all over the floor. Big centipede things. The heat didn’t work right and it got very chilly. The bed is very uncomfortable. Not enough padding at all. And the pillows are awful. We met the owner and it was a pleasure.
Host was super helpful, came down to fix hot water issue. Firepite and trail to beach were perfect, though better have your mud boots on for the trail! Privacy, sunsets galore, and perfect location, never mind the freaking POOL TABLE!!! Quaint old school kitchen is just my style, but don't expect 6 gas burners. Push button analog all day baby! Bocce ball in rock yard, and nice neighborhood walks.
Great ocean view from downstairs mother in law unit.
This is a clean, well kept and well stocked downstairs MIL unit that has a great ocean view in the Harris Beach Rainbow rock area. It has 5 rooms (LR, Kit., BR, Bath, and large entry with couch/ hide a bed); the LR includes a pool table. It may be the change in seasons that brought them in, but there were rodents (mice?) Inside the wall at the head of the bed. Their scritching and scratching at night woke us up a few times. Still, we would return for another stay.
Check in was easy. The place was clean. The only reason for 4 stars instead of five was the cabinet over the stove…evidently housekeeping forgot to look there a while ago. There were potatoes with long sprouts.
Anyway we enjoyed the views, hiking sticks, coffee, & beach towels provided. The fire pit was an added bonus. Did I mention the views? Breath taking!
I would have liked a few more wash cloths as we were there several days. There were plenty of towels though.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes!!
Thank you for sharing your home with us.
The view of the ocean was absolutely breathtaking but we were quite disappointed to discover the apartment was attached to a house that is being lived in. We could hear noises from upstairs. The apartment was not cleaned of cobwebs and spiders before we got in there, and there were quite a few of both. The check in process was not communicated to us and we had to ring the house doorbell for the homeowner to tell us what the code to the lockbox was. Had it not been for the view, we likely would have just stayed at a local inn.

Nice views.
Nice view but I can see that from 101. Beautiful beach but can’t get to it. Garage is propped open to vent the dryer. Watched a skunk go into the garage at dusk. The bedroom and the kitchen are welcome to the 60s critters running in the bedroom ceiling at night and in the morning. No toilet paper upon check in had to call property manager to get some. Only 1 garbage bag for a 9 night stay. Again called to get more. Kitchen not well stocked. Would appreciate containers with lids. Coffee pot is a kuerig so if a coffee drinker need to bring pods. We went and bought a regular coffee pot since we brought our own coffee. Had fires in the fire pit nightly which was nice. Overall I think price was to steep for this accommodation
The views were outstanding! We also enjoyed the pool table and the fire pit overlooking the ocean. Very comfortable bed and appreciated the beach towels.
Like others have noted, this property is dated but well maintained. Natural air conditioning with fan assist. Don't recommend for small, active children due to high vertical walls for overlook in back. The view of the ocean and rock formations are second to none. The pictures don't do justice to in person view. Brookings is a quaint town and lots of food choices. Redwood Forest very close to south. We will definately return to the area.
The amenities were good/clean, but while parts of the house were updated, others were not. It's a mix between 1970's and 1990's décor together. Was a little disappointed, but the view overlooking the bluffs were beautiful. Please note, even tho this is a house rental, the people that own it live in the upstairs portion of the house so you can always hear someone walking around.
Had a great time at this residence. Incredible views from the living room. The place needs some updates but for the price and the fact that you should spend more time at the water than the rental it didn't matter too much.
We enjoyed our stay at Wild Blue 2. The pics of the view don't come close to the actual view. This property is a bit dated and the sleeping arrangement was less than ideal for two couples to stay. The listing says 1 bedroom and 1 pull out sofa. This is true. The issue is the placement of the pull out sofa which is right outside of the 1 bedroom. Privacy screens are offered, but still that doesn't provide the needed privacy of two couples vacationing together. This set up would be much more appropriate for a family with children but since no children under 10 are allowed to stay (with good reason as the listing explains) the privacy is challenging. My husband and I slept on the two couches in the living room which again was less than Ideal. I will say, these couches were comfortable. Overall the location and view were enough to compensate from the inconvenience of the sleeping arrangement. We stayed at Wild Blue 2 for 4 days and loved it.
The property is dated, but the location is the best! Any problems we had were IMMEDIATELY taken care of. The new owners are in the middle of upgrading the property, yet our stay was not interrupted by noise. The price is very reasonable. We had a very relaxing time, and the view was so awesome
we could easily have stayed for a month! We give it a big thumbs up!
