Admiral's Rest is a traditional ground floor townhouse, conveniently situated near Broadstairs High Street and part of the estate of Lord Thomas Cochrane, the 10th Earl of Dundonald. The holiday home is perfectly placed for families looking to experience the beauty of the local beaches and countryside, whilst also being a stone’s throw away from the eclectic range of bars and eateries.
The Space:
With traditional interiors, high ceilings and colourful soft furnishings, Admiral’s Rest has beautiful interiors throughout.
Our spacious living room has plenty of natural light from the huge windows and a beautiful sight of the greenery from the garden. Enjoy the view, read books from the selection provided in our mini-library, or simply watch your favourite shows through the TV in the lounge.
The open-plan dining/kitchen area is in the next room. Boasting glass ceilings allowing plenty of daylight to come in, the dining area has more than enough space for 4 guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances you need for a self-catering stay - a fridge, toaster, microwave, oven, and hob are provided! A washing machine for your laundry is also available for you to use.
The property features two spacious double bedrooms. Both rooms boast luxury mattresses, bedding and linens to ensure a great night’s sleep.
The master bedroom is an ensuite and has private access to a WC and a shower. It also showcases a huge window with beautiful greenery views, a couch for sitting, and a vanity table that can double as a workspace if you are here for work.
The second bedroom is relaxing with its white interior accentuated with wooden furniture.
You will also have access to a family bathroom with a basin, a WC, and a shower.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to your stay.
Please note, the French doors in the bedroom are for decorative purposes only and are not to be used.
The Neighborhood:
Broadstairs is a charming coastal town in Kent known for its beautiful sandy beaches and Victorian architecture. From leisurely beach days to exploring cultural and historical landmarks, Broadstairs offers a diverse range of experiences for all to enjoy.
Viking Bay is the main beach and the perfect spot for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. It also gained the Seaside Award 2023 which celebrates the best beaches in England. Viking Bay was also the holiday destination of choice for Charles Dickens, and he even wrote a piece on the town itself named ‘Our English Watering Place’.
There are other beaches too such as Stone Bay and Joss Bay which are both as beautiful yet offer a quieter atmosphere for a more relaxed seaside experience.
Broadstairs offers opportunities for outdoor activities, such as coastal walks along the cliffs, water sports, and golf. The town is also part of the Viking Coastal Trail, a 32-mile walking and cycling route that explores the area’s scenic coastline.
Getting Around:
Broadstairs is a fantastic base for exploring the South East of England as you’ll find direct rail routes to Ramsgate, Margate, Herne Bay, Whitstable, Faversham, Sittingbourne, Rainham, Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, Strood, Gravesend, Ebbsfleet and London.
Various bus routes can be found in Broadstairs. The 8A travels to Canterbury, the 45 runs to Sandwich, and the 946 will take you to Margate.
All of London’s airports are easily accessible from Broadstairs via rail and road, making the town accessible to travellers from across the globe.
