Relaxing Stay at Farmhouse
It is off the beaten path but worth the drive. The house is in great shape and the decor is outstanding. The kitchen was well equipped. The large wrap around porch was great for taking in the views both morning and evening. Relaxing to watch the cows and horses graze. The owners were most gracious and we all visited with them one evening and enjoyed the view from top of the mountain. Great place if you desire relaxation...I highly recommend!

Magical home and farm
This was the most wonderful place. The love and care invested into this home can be seen and felt throughout. Pictures do not do it justice. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable. We all slept so well. We spent so much time on the porch in the morning and evenings. Our children loved exploring the farm and we enjoyed the serenity. The creek and lightning bugs were definitely a sweet highlight. It’s close to the lake and Bristol Caverns. But honestly we could have spent the whole trip just enjoying the home and property. We were honestly sad to have to leave. If you are looking to relax and enjoy a beautiful piece of history we suggest you stay here. We hope to stay here every summer vacation if we can!

Peaceful Place
Our family and my Mom went up for an after Christmas getaway. It was fun and different to stay in an old house. The furnishings were beautiful and the beds were my favorite. We slept so well on the mattresses and the coverings were clean and comfortable. Mary Lynn had some groceries for us, a cheese board, and some flowers for my Mom when we arrived. Very thoughtful. We enjoyed chatting with Mary Lynn and her husband and seeing their beautiful view from their home up the hill. The location was great. We went to Bristol, TN, VA and Abingdon one day. Thanks Mary Lynn for your hospitality!

Best little secret in Bristol
We had the most amazing time at Mary Lynn's 1880's Farmhouse. The scenery was breathtaking, the home is charming and the hospitality we received from Mary Lynn was such a delight. It was so neat to be staying on a working farm. This is a beautiful area just 15 or so minutes to Bristol, 7 minutes to beautiful South Holston Lake and 20 minutes to Bristol Motor Speed Way. We will definitely be bringing our family back in the future. Thank you Mary Lynn! Franki, Bill, John and Cheryl.

Beautiful property nestled in gorgeous countryside with great hospitality!
My husband and I stayed in this old farmhouse for a week with our two children (5 & 14) and the teenager brought a friend. The property is beautiful. Very spacious, plenty of room for us all. It is a very old farmhouse, with unique old property quirks, and has been dressed with beautiful antique furniture, and is well stocked with everything you would ever need and more. The property owners live just up the road, and were super attentive of all our needs, providing a wonderful welcome basket of goods that were appreciated after a long drive. They also provided a lot of local knowledge of activities and fun things to do in the area. I cannot thank Marylyn and HD enough for all of their hospitality. A week wasn't long enough for us to do all the things we planned, but we also enjoyed time on the beautiful wrap around porch, relaxing, listening to the plentiful birds, and watching the cattle and horses which are right next to the property. My 5 year old son loved watching the cows, calves, and a bull in the morning which were almost on the doorstep (separated by a fence!!). We explored the trail that was accessible from the property - steep in places - and found a tortoise on the top! The Bristol caverns just down the road were absolutely stunning. We swam in the lake at Jacobs Creek recreation center. Cycled the creeper trail just 30 minutes down the road, played at the nature center and splash pad at Steele Creek park, had lunch at Painters creek marina, and played on the giant inflatable water course at Sportsmans marina. All in all a wonderful relaxing break, made possible with such a picturesque surrounding at this beautiful home from home. I wish I could give it 10 stars! We definitely plan to return.

Amazing relaxing weekend
We had an amazing weekend at this beautiful farmhouse. It was so surreal to wake up every morning surrounded by cows right outside your window. The kids absolutely loved exploring the grounds and seeing all the animals. Mary Lynn and HD were fantastic hosts - the house had everything we needed and they even purchased cereals milk and pastries for us ! We enjoyed going to Abingdon for the Virginia Creeper trail and got take out from a number of places in Bristol and Abington. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time at this charming house. The hosts were most gracious and we enjoyed our stay. We did some hiking on the host's property without needing to drive and rented a pontoon boat on South Holston Lake for an afternoon. We also enjoyed watching the cows in the pasture nearby. Overall, a great trip.

Beautiful house in a beautiful setting
The property and house are exactly as advertised and the unanimous five star reviews are highly accurate and justified. Beautiful charming and more than spacious farmhouse with a view of the mountains. We were there to hike the AT. Although about a half hour drive to Damascus, it was a scenic and stress free drive and enhanced the experience. All of the necessary kitchen and household amenities were supplied. We lacked for nothing. Mary Lynn even had an abundance of non essentials which lasted well beyond our stay. Mary Lynn was also extremely available for for any questions. The only negative is that the upstairs water pressure is inadequate for showering. On the other hand, the downstairs shower has great pressure and has more than enough hot water. Bristol is also a nice area to explore with an active downtown with plenty of restaurants and music. We highly recommend this property for anyone who wants to spend a weekend in a beautiful charming house in a beautiful setting.
