Pretty Seaside cottage, sleeps 4 ( dog friendly )

Oyster Cottage has been lovingly restored into a cosy retreat, located opposite 'The Ship Inn' , at the heart of Sewerby village, and is just yards from the sea.

In just a couple of minutes walk you can be at the steps to Sewerby beach, admiring the beautiful view of Bridlington bay. Our guests love the walks in our area, you are spoilt for choice with plenty of walks towards Bridlington, or along the coast towards Dynes Dyke, South Landing or even Flamborough Head.

The East Yorkshire Coast has many beaches to discover, from huge stretches of sand to coves with caves and rock pools to explore. Sewerby Hall & gardens is also on our doorstep, with the house, zoo and pretty gardens, there's always plenty to see & do. We have included a family pass to Sewerby Hall & Gardens to use during your stay.

It's a lovely cosy cottage - perfect to come home to after a day on the beach or a day out exploring. Upstairs sleeps 4, in a double and twin bedroom, alongside a luxurious shower room. Dogs are welcome too.

Downstairs is a cosy sitting room, complete with woodburning stove. A handmade kitchen is full of appliances to make your holiday hassle free - and features a lovely sociable eating area too..The utility room is equipped with a washer and dryer plus a useful downstairs loo.

Outside is a lovely enclosed garden, perfect if you have dogs. For those days when we're bathed in Yorkshire sunshine there's a table & chairs for outdoor eating & drinking , along with a Bbq . With a sociable fire pit area, perfect for chilly evenings.

Although the cottage doesn't have any parking of its own, there is street parking around Sewerby village or should you eat/drink at The Ship Inn (which is literally across the road) the owners are happy for our guests are able to use their car park, for the duration of your stay.

* Please note we try to keep Fridays as our check -in day, our weeks run from Friday
to Friday, short breaks Mon-Fri or Fri- Mon.
(As I clean the cottage myself I find this works the best for me - thank you )

Beautiful cottage. Great location.
We have had a great October break. The cottage is beautiful, clean and in a great location. Ideal location to walk the coast into Brid and back (land train optional). Short distance to Filey. Scarborough - where our children enjoyed Peasholm Park feeding the squirrels. Hosts also provided Sewerby Hall entrance tickets. A great week had by all. 😊 xx

Another amazing stay!
We have stayed in this beautiful cottage twice and would come back tommorrow if we could. The cottage is spacious clean and beautiful, the outside space is amazing with barbacue and lovely outdoor furniture, also very doggy friendly which was fab. Distance to the nearest pub is 10 seconds across the road which was also extremely convenient, pub is also doggy friendly, beach is literally 5 minutes walk away. Absolutely love this cottage and Sue the owner is lovely and will do anything to accommodate your stay.

Much needed break
This wasnt our first time staying in Sewerby but it was our first time at Oyster Cottage..... I can confidently say, it will not be our last.. Sue was great, coms before, during and after our stay were fab. The cottage itself is well situated, very well presented and spotlessly clean with a fantastic private outdoor secure garden to boot. Unlike previous places weve rented the furniture was unworn and very comfortable to use. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The two sofas provided great comfort for us on an evening in front of the wood burning stove ( we never intended to use this but thought it would be a nice change to using the alternative central heating). It proved to be so warming and cosy that we struggled get up to go for a late walk with our dog. Who incedently had a better time than us. We parked in the Ship Inn facing for the week, in kind we spent several visits there. From a quick quiet beer, a dinner time snack and a few full evening meals. The staff there were great and very welcoming. As they also allow dogs this was a great treat for all of us. Reggie even had two Pupachinos from their doggie menu. Thanks again for a great stay...

Brilliant.
Stayed here over the Easter weekend and from the moment you walk through the door it feels like home. Oyster cottage is beautifully presented throughout. To the right is the lounge there are two large sofas, log burning stove with plenty of logs for those chilly nights, tv and games. On the left is a well equipped kitchen (we had everything we needed to cook a roast dinner). There is a large cooker, coffee machine with pods, dishwasher, dining area etc. up a couple of stairs to a utility room with washer and dryer, loo and sink. Then out into a lovely secure garden. Upstairs are two decent size double bedrooms and bathroom. Both bedrooms have a sea view. The location is amazing too. There is a friendly pub across the road but don’t worry there is no noise at night from it. If you walk around the pub you’re on the coast where you will find some lovely walks. I didn’t want to write a review because I would like to keep this secret so we get the opportunity to go back but that wouldn’t be fair. If you’re thinking of booking or have already booked your in for a treat. One last thing, the communication from the owner Sue was brilliant. Thank you for a lovely stay we will definitely be back.

Perfect Cottage
We had a wonderful stay at this fantastic cottage. Perfect for us as a couple plus our dog Willow. The large enclosed garden is brilliant for the dog and will be delightful for sitting out in the summer. We ate at both the Ship and the Forge, both within a few metres of the property, so convenient. The woodburner was a bonus, really cosy when we came back from walks. Plenty of places to go, we walked to Flamborough Head and also beyond Bridlington to Fraisthorpe. Finally, Sue the owner was in touch with information and support at all times. Couldn't recommend more highly, we will be back!

Fabulous cottage in a great location
We stayed here for a few days over October half term and could have stayed much longer! The cottage is great and furnished to a really high standard. Plenty of room for our family of 4 ( 2 adults & 2 teenagers) and our small dog. Loads of parking nearby or in the Ship Inn across the road so that wasn't an issue at all. It was great to have the Ship Inn and Old Forge for drinks and meals no more than 2 minutes away. Access to the beach and Sewerby Hall & Gardens is only 5 minutes walk. We also visited Filey, Danes beach and Bridlington. We discovered that you're never too old for the Land Train to and from Bridlington. There's a mini Morrisons and Farm Shop less than 10 minutes walk away and it's also an easy walk along the cliff top to Bridlington. All in all a fabulous cottage and a great location. We'll definitely be back in the future!

Superb cottage near the sea
Oyster cottage is delightful. A very convenient location with 2 highly recommendable restaurants with 30 metres. Beaches, costal walks and Sewerby Hall and gardens are all accessible within 250 metres. The cottage itself offers very well modernised accommodation providing a most comfortable stay. My wife and I spent a week here in September, with some mixed weather, but its just so good to be "by the sea". Excellent value with a very accommodating host.
