Beautiful Equestrian Estate - Rated 'Exceptional' since 2014

Enjoy the warmth and restorative simplicity of true log cabin living while pampering the body with organic toiletries and luxurious bath and bed linens. The sound of the waterfall, the ducks milling about on the ponds, and the quiet rhythm of life on the farm is wonderful for relaxing the mind and body.

Located just 10 miles west of Brevard, North Carolina, this beautiful log cabin is part of Falling water Farm, a private equestrian estate that is nestled in its own secluded valley. The property sits on forty seven acres, most of which has been purposely left undisturbed, ensuring space for local wildlife and privacy for the farm. The cabin's large picture windows frame meticulously maintained pastures bordered by streams and springs that flow into a pond located directly in front of the cabin. The covered porch overlooks a waterfall that is beautiful to look at and soothing to hear, especially as one drifts off to sleep. Come morning, enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the horses graze and the ducks dabble for their breakfast on the pond. Guests are welcome to walk the property and meet the horses.

The cabin has an open floor plan for the kitchen, dining, and living room area. This design feature takes full advantage of the floor-to-ceiling windows to offer unrestricted views and a feeling of connection with the land and life that surround the cabin. The living room is tastefully furnished with a couch and two armchairs. For entertainment, there is a flat screen television, a DVD player, and unlimited internet via fiber optic for streaming TV or surfing the web.

The master suite downstairs has a king size bed, walk in closet, and private bath. The soothing sound of the water is particularly nice in this bedroom. Upstairs is a roomy loft area with another full bath, a queen bed as well as two single beds. One of the single beds can be collapsed and moved out of the way if not needed. The cabin is air conditioned and separate temperature controls in the master bedroom, loft, and great room ensure maximum comfort during the summer months.

The Kitchen is equipped with a microwave, electric range, refrigerator with an ice maker, dishwasher, blender, and coffee maker. There is also a stacked washer and dryer unit. Additionally there is a barbecue grill and outside dining area located behind the cabin in its private yard. Access to the property is private, entry is via an electric gate. Guests are assigned a unique entry code prior to their arrival.

Located just off of Hwy 64, we are convenient to Cashiers, Sapphire, Lake Toxaway, and Highlands to the West, Brevard and Hendersonville to the East, Asheville to the north, and the upstate of South Carolina to the South. All of these locations have a lot to offer from great restaurants to great antiquing. The major hubs of Atlanta to the south and Charlotte to the east are both only 2 1/2 hours drive away.

Transylvania county is the land of waterfalls and hiking, biking, cycling, and sightseeing destinations are literally only minutes away. For hikers and mountain bikers, Jocassee State Park is only 2.3 miles down the road and for cyclists there are miles of bike routes all through Transylvania county. Should fly fishing, tubing, or kayaking interest you, both the Davidson river and the French Broad Rivers are just minutes away. For the horse enthusiast, there are several stables in the area that offer trail rides, but reservations are a must. We are also close to DuPont State Forest, Pisgah State Forest, and Caesars Head State Park. The Biltmore Estate with its winery, grounds, and gardens in Asheville is only 35 miles north.

Because of the numerous water features and four legged animals already on the property, we are unable to accommodate pets or small children. But if you are looking for a place geared towards the adult traveler, Falling Water Farm is for you.

Beautiful property, such a peaceful and relaxing visit
The cabin was so clean and beautiful. The property is amazing & everything it says it is, in the description. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip, it was so relaxing to sit on the porch, listen to the waterfall and the peace and quiet of the property. The owner was so welcoming, it couldn’t have been a more perfect visit. We enjoyed downtown Brevard that’s within a quick drive & we visited some of the local waterfalls. You can’t go wrong booking here!

Relaxation
We had a very relaxing stay. The stream with the waterfall was a hit. The cabin was wonderful, we had a wonderful master suite. We were close enough to all the outdoor things we wanted to do and to things in Brevard that we wanted to do. It’s also an easy access to the Parkway. It was close but not too close, very private.

Vacay a few days
This is an exceptionally well maintained property-- clean, well appointed, quiet. It is about a 12 minute drive from the college town of Brevard with small shops , galleries , and restaurants; and close enough to outdoor recreational activities. We are book readers and music people so we didn't explore whatever media offerings are available at the cabin. Rain or shine you can sit on the porch around the cabin.

The cabin was absolutely incredible! It was by far the nicest, cleanest place we have ever stayed.
This cabin was immaculate and nestled on a beautiful piece of property. The property owner was most helpful and made sure that our every need was met. This was one of the best experiences we have ever had in renting a cabin. The whole place is so breathtaking - the pictures don’t even do it justice! It is stunning! We will definitely return!

Lovely property, would love to go back
We had actually booked this vacation 2 year’s previously, but were moving, and were allowed to cancel. The property seemed interesting so we booked again for 3 days in June. The cabin is lovely…. everything we needed was on the main floor which is good for Seniors. It was just 2 of us, and we thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and property. We brought some food from home as we were only 5 hours away, and bought some other things at nearby groceries. Ate our breakfasts and dinners at the cabin. All 3 nights my husband used the outside grill. There is only 1 horse and a kitty at this time. I was able to give the horse apple which was fun. It’s not very far from Brevard, Hendersonville, and Cashiers. We had a lot of fun going to these neat towns….lots of shops and antique stores. The weather in June was beautiful, great temps with very little humidity. Thank you Ilse, you were an excellent hostess.

Lucky Us!
We wanted a base of operation for viewing fall colors and fly fishing. We didn't realize the hills in front of and behind the cabin would be so spectacular in the fall. The property is beautiful with the small pond, stream, and landscaping. The cabin is clean and comfortable and the gas log heater in the living room is really nice on cool mornings. Only a short drive to several rivers with excellent fly fishing. And the roads to the rivers provided all the fall color anyone could want. Thank you, Ilse, for sharing your lovely place.

Owner was great, had homemade cookies on arrival, stay was great only 2 complaints, if your using the loft hope your under 5'8'' otherwise you will bump your head alot, also if people do use the loft and you are using the masterbed room, the noise is way to much you can hear every footstep like they are on top of you, hard to sleep, overall the stay was great.

Absolutely beautiful!
The property was very pretty and well maintained. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous inside and very clean when we arrived. The owner, Ilse, was friendly and helpful while we stayed there, and she was responsive when we had questions. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting her 190 lb Brazilian Mastiff named Tater (he's a very sweet and gentle giant), as well as Tommy the cat, who was the friendliest feline and best lap warmer I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful, quiet, and relaxing place to stay while you're in the Brevard area, this is the best place to be. We cannot recommend this property enough!!!

LOOK NO FURTHER
This place is wonderful it is spotlessly clean and has all the utensils you need for your cooking needs. Else your hostess makes your stay a truly great experience even bringing us cookies and nut bread that was very tasty. We could of stayed forever but had to move on, and our looking forward to returning next year. The listing is accurate, the photo's are good the place was very clean, the owner was very helpful, and I would recommend the "Brown Trout" as the best restaurant for an evening meal it is located on road 281 North of 64.

Peaceful Getaway
This property is even more beautiful in person than in pictures. The cabin is completely surrounded by gorgeous old-wood trees, next to a lovely babbling brook, and a charming waterfall. All this within an easy drive of downtown Brevard and all the necessities. The internet and satellite TV worked flawlessly. The kitchen is well-stocked. The king-size bed in the spacious downstairs bedroom was heavenly (although I had to use the provided step stool to get into it). There was nothing lacking to make our week restful and restorative. I highly recommend Ilsa's beautiful cabin for your next retreat.

Family Time
My family and I were looking for a place that was both secluded yet close in proximity to the places we wanted to visit and the trails we wanted to hike-a home base kind of place. So we booked this stay based off of others reviews and we were not disappointed! The cabin was a beautiful handcrafted log home with all the amenities listed, very clean and fresh. The property in it's entirety was refreshing and beautiful. "Tater" the dog and "Tommy" the cat were our daily greeters in our coming and going. It's centrally located to Southwestern North Carolina and Northwestern South Carolina Parks and Trails. Lake Toxiway, Cashiers, Rosman & Brevard are close by.The property owner Isle extended great hospitality. We loved our stay and would highly recommend this property.

Wonderful Getaway Cabin!
The weekend got off to a perfect start when we arrived at our cabin to find champagne on ice in honor of our anniversary. What a thoughtful and unexpected gesture! The cabin was spotless and appointed so well including the furniture, plush linens and towels, organic toiletries, Ilse's unique touches throughout the cabin in the form of pictures and objects, and to top it all off her delicious scones and pumpkin bread each day! The sound of the waterfall was so lovely and we enjoyed watching the graceful horses on the well maintained grounds and making friends with Otis! Coffee on the deck each morning and wine on the deck each evening were such a treat. We can't say enough good things about this property. Makes a reservation! You will be pleased you did. Thank you again, Ilse for everything!

Beautiful and Convenient
The cabin we stayed in was gorgeous, very well decorated. We were in the country but only 10 miles from downtown Brevard. A couple of things we weren't thrilled about were the uncomfortable couch and chair in the living area and would have greatly appreciated tv's in the bedrooms. My friend and I had a great deal of difficulty trying to operate the tv as we are both accustomed to cable tv. The bathtub in the loft was difficult for me to step out of and I'm 5'8". The entrance gate was electronic and I had trouble making it work correctly on several occasions. On the positive side, the cabin had everything we needed -- coffee pot with pods, toiletries, hair dryer, etc. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were great!!! The entire property was clean and green -- gorgeous. We enjoyed the falls, the creek, the pond, and watching the horse and being greeted by the very sweet kitty, Tommy. Overall, we had a nice time.

Unusual Beauty
Unusual experience! Very refreshing place to spend a few days....could have stayed longer....much longer :). From the time you drive through the gate you know you may change plans and never leave the property. My husband and I were in need of a warm fire and to be surrounded by nature. It was perfect! The king size bed was wonderful and very comfy ( which is what we find at other places folks NEGLECT!). Slept VERY well. Beautiful view of the pond/stream/falls from master. All we needed was provided. Cherry on top were the resident pets, Tater (pup) and Tommy (cat). They brought a sweet surprise. Tater was happy to lead us around the property on morning strolls. His antics made us laugh and Tommy was so sweet. You know the property was crafted with love and creativity. ❤️

Peaceful
We arrived at the property 4 hours later than we had planned. It was late, dark and we were all exhausted and hungry. We were greeted by Ilse and Otis. Upon crossing the Threshold the warmth of the cabin invaded us and my kids (young adults) walked straight to a plate of cookies Ilse had so graciously baked for us. Those cookies tasted like glory, or so they said because they devoured the entire batch in less than a minute. We didn't even unpacked, we just drove into town to get dinner at the only restaurant that remained opened that late. We came back to the cabin and did our usual check under the bed, behind the bed, the bathrooms, the kitchen. I am extremely picky and clean. I had decided on this cabin based on most of the reviews that mentioned how clean the cabin was. I can testified to that, the cabin was spotless and we felt as comfortable as we feel at home. Our biggest surprise came the following morning when we woke to a beautiful view of Ilse's property. I have to take my hat off, Ilse is a hard worker and she keeps her grounds immaculate. The pictures we took look like postcards. I want to keep this review short which is hard because there is so much I want to say. Otis was an added bonus, if it would have been for my daughters, he would have slept with them inside. I have much more pictures of Otis than of the beautiful waterfalls we saw during our hiking at the parks. Ilse's horses are beautiful, it was nice spending time with them and feeding them apples. Our only regret was not having spent more time with Ilse and her amazing horses and pets. We would leave early in the morning and usually return when it was dark. Even my kids were saying we should plan another trip to Brevard and make sure we have at least one free full day to enjoy Ilse's property, take in the view and just sit outside and relax with Otis by our side. I thank her for having allow us to stay with her, she is a very gracious hostess. Usually my reviews are all about suggesting improvements but everything at Ilse's was perfect. Maybe a curtain in the master bathroom's window? Thank you Ilse for your hospitality and the work that you do to keep the place PERFECT. We enjoyed our stay very much and can't wait to visit again.
