Stable Cottage is a charming 2 bedroom property that comfortably sleeps 4 adults, a couple or a family of 4. It is tastefully furnished generating a relaxed, welcoming 'home from home' feel.
Nestled within the original part of Braunton where local history is evident and where horse drawn wagons once roamed. The cottage is situated just a short walk from the village, approx 3 minutes (5 minutes for little legs) where you will find an abundance of restaurants, pubs, shops, surf shops, information centre, surf museum and bicycle hire.
The cottage oozes character and charm with its exposed stone work, gate latch wooden doors, exposed beams and its beautiful stone fireplace housing a log burner, ideal for warming up a chilly evening. The original part of the cottage dates back to 1843 when it was the stable block attached to the manor house of the time. The cottage does not have its own parking but there is plenty of on street parking further up North Down Road, approx 100 metres from Stable Cottage. We welcome guests with one well behaved dog. Please note that an additional cleaning charge will apply for those guests that bring their furry best friend with them. There are fantastic walks nearby and a list of all other local attractions detailed in the welcome folder in the cottage. Braunton is a great spot to explore beautiful North Devon. There is also fast wifi available.
LIVING AREA
The living room has a comfortable seating area and is complimented with a soft leather sofa, leather tub chair and stool, television with streaming services including Amazon Prime and Netflix. The WiFi connection within the cottage is also very good. The beautiful original stone fireplace with a working wood burner is a stunning feature. The cottage also has central heating which will keep you warm should the weather demand.
Beautiful original exposed stonework and slate floors throughout the ground floor give this cottage the original Devon cottage feel.
KITCHEN
The kitchen offers a built in oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster, microwave as well as a good choice of pots, pans, kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery. The kitchen has a table and chairs and easily sits 4 people, perfect for dining while eating in sharing good conversation and enjoying a glass of wine.
BEDROOMS
Both bedrooms and the bathroom are located upstairs.
BEDROOM 1:
As you enter this bedroom you notice the original period beams and high ceiling. The room contains a double bed, a large wardrobe, chair and ottoman plus a TV mounted on the wall. Bedroom one has double doors which open up onto a secluded terrace, perfect for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine.
BEDROOM 2:
This generously sized room with its original exposed stonework and shutters at the windows again adds to the character and charm of the cottage. This room has twin beds. There is storage space in this room and contains a chest of draws and bedside cabinets.
BATHROOM
Bath, WC, and separate shower. This spacious bathroom is finished to a high standard with modern fittings. A large bath, separate shower enclosure, WC and heated towel rail.
OUTSIDE
From the master bedroom you can step out onto the private decking area. Steps descend to the courtyard below where there is plenty of space to store a surfboard or bike.
Braunton is close to the stunning beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Mortehoe . If you enjoy cycling or walking, the renowned Tarka trail can be accessed from the village and this follows the Taw and Torridge estuaries. The cottage is an ideal base for walkers and ramblers and perfect for those looking for a cosy get-away within beautiful north Devon.
