What a disappointment.....
Five floors in this facility. Elevator did not operate most of the time. Mentioned the situation to the desk personnel and they acknowledged the situation and shrugged their shoulders and smiled. Wanted to visit the city and leave our vehicle at the hotel, asked the desk to call for a cab and she told us to go stand out front and get one ourselves. It was raining terribly.....
At 8:00 AM we heard what we thought was knocking at our door. We got up a couple times to answer and no one was there. The continental breakfast area was on the floor above us. We went up for breakfast and realized what the knocking was that we heard. There was an attendant making cups of coffee for the guests. After each cup, he would take the container that held the grinds and pound them into a waste container. That was the knocking that we heard. He pounded the side so loud that it echoed as far down as the third floor.
When we checked out, the front desk insisted that we owed for the two rooms. I explained that we booked through Expedia and that I had a confirmation that the rooms were paid. Our conversation lasted a half hour with other guests impatiently waiting behind me. I did not pay for the room...again, but did have to leave my home phone number and email address in order for me to escape from this experience.
