Modernised town house in the centre of Brantome, with a pretty garden

The Gite St Pierre is an ancient townhouse in a very quaint and ancient street. It has been beautifully modernised inside by the previous owner, for his own use. It has a lovely terrace and a very pretty, and very private garden of some 500 square metres. It is in the centre of the famous tourist site of Brantome en Périgord, very close to the river. So, everything that Brantome has to offer is within easy reach - just a few minutes’ walk - shops, market, streets, gardens, restaurants, cafes and bars and local attractions. Rising up behind the house to meet the cliff that forms the backdrop to Brantome, and overlooking the roofs of the town, the terrace and the garden are places where you can rest and relax, eat a meal, fire up the BBQ, sip a drink, read a book, sketch or just sit and doze. For those of you who may wish to explore more widely, all of the Dordogne and the neighbouring Departments are at your disposal.
Entering the Gite you will find a bedroom on the ground floor with two beds, (which can also form a large double bed) and its shower-room, on which you will find the washing machine and dryer (perhaps this means that you can go a bit lighter on your packing!).
From this room you go up the stairs to join the main part of the house - equipped kitchen, living room, shower -room and master bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials - oven, hob, extractor fan, refrigerator-freezer, washing up machine, microwave, electric kettle and a toaster, as well as a Nespresso machine.
The living room is light and airy with a classic, stone fireplace and a wood burner. We can vouch from personal experience that the chairs are extremely comfortable recliners to doze in! Both this room and the main bedroom have reversible air conditioning units. The WiFi is free, connected by fibre, with a speeds of around 300Mb, Internet TV, DVD player and a Bluetooth radio / CD player.
From the living room you can access the terrace, with the BBQ, table and garden seats and parasols. From here you access the Garden above the house.
Bathroom and bedroom amenities include a hair dryer, towels, sheets and other bedding.
The street, being very narrow, does not allow any parking immediately in front of the house. Nevertheless, you can stop in front of the house to load and unload your belongings. There are free parking spaces nearby: at the beginning of the street, in front of the hotel Le Jardin des ChouChoux, and around the shops in front of the hotel (for short periods only). There are further places behind the shops, where the recycling bins are located, in front of a hangar, currently unused.
You will find photos and a marked-up map of the immediate locality to show where these spaces are. Otherwise, there is a very large, free parking area within 3-5 minutes’ walk, alongside the river on the road to Thiviers.

Townhouse in Brantome
A great smallish townhouse in the centre of Bramtome and very well appointed. Near to the shops and trails if you are biking. ( Use Kamoot for the trails) The steps to the property from the street were a bit challenging with heavy e-bikes but managed OK .

Delightful Village and Property
We are an older retired American couple, and we stayed in this property for 3 weeks and had two couples join us for a week each. The house is extremely comfortable and well equipped and a perfect location. We enjoyed the outdoor space as well. The stairs between floors were a bit steep but entirely manageable. We recommend this space enthusuastically.

Central home in an idyllic location
My daughter suggested that we visit Brantome as she had seen photos of the town/ village on TicToc. Well we were sold but we wanted to be able to travel by public transport - it was easier than we thought. Eurostar to Paris, Gare de Nord, metro to Montparnasse, train to Angouleme (but if I went again I would probably get the train to Périgueux because there are more buses to Brantome) and then a bus to Brantome for the princely sum of 2 eu 30. The house is a short walk from the station (gendarmerie). It is also a hop and a skip from the centre- the Abbey, the shops, the restaurants, the river, the park …..we loved it. You can do trips by bus to surrounding towns and villages, or if you are driving this area is awash with chateaux, vineyards etc. needless to say we loved it. Now, to the house- charming doesn’t cut it. It is lovely and has every facility you could think of. There are loads of steps, so it is not for everyone, but for our family it was perfect. We loved the space it offered, the terrace and the garden with tree views.and inside it was equipped with everything you could think of. We would return in a heartbeat.

A quiet, luxurious bolthole in a beautiful old village.
A hidden gem. Beautifully converted and very well equipped. We loved the easy access to the village, market, abbey, cafes and shops. We ate on the patio and read up in the garden with a lovely view and we slept soundly. Lots of lovely countryside to explore, rivers and castles and woods. We didn't want to leave!

Great Time Had By All
I travelled to Brantome with my mother and my 8 year-old daughter, and we all had a great time. The property was lovely and had a great outdoor seating area. I liked that the bedrooms were on two different levels and there was a bathroom on both levels. I would recommend this place.

On a passé un très bon séjour dans ce gite. Explications claires pour l'arrivée. Très propre et très bien équipé. La ville de de Brantome regorge de petits restaurants, le gite est bien situé pour circuler à pied dans cette petite ville. On recommande !

Idéal pour un séjour réussi !
La maison est parfaitement équipée (vaisselle, appareils) et idéalement située (à proximité du centre de Brantome tout en ayant une disposition qui préserve la tranquillité). Elle est complétée d’un charmant jardin privatif avec vue sur les toits de Brantome. Les hôtes ont été très réactifs et attentionnés pour nous répondre rapidement et nous faciliter le séjour. Dès notre arrivés, un copieux et délicieux « panier d’accueil » nous attendait. Nous recommandons très vivement cette adresse.

Très bon sejour à Brantôme
Très belles vacances passées à Brantôme. Une très jolie ville à visiter. Plusieurs activités à faire en famille ou entre amis, canoë, marchés, visite de l'abbaye ect.. La maison est très agréable et bien agencée à deux pas du centre ville! Les hôtes sont à l'écoute et très disponibles. Nous ne pouvons que recommander.

Aangenaam verblijf.
Net huis met werkelijk alle voorzieningen aanwezig vlak bij het centrum. De voordeur komt uit in één slaapkamer waar iedereen dus altijd door moet. De woonkamer en de tweede slaapkamer liggen boven. Je moet dus zeker goed trappen kunnen nemen. Eigenaars niet gezien maar vooraf wel contact mee gehad. Zij zochten voor ons een prima oplossing voor een probleem.
