Nice clean lake house
This was a nice clean little lake house. All the bedrooms had comfortable beds and there was a fun little game/bar room downstairs. We stayed in April to attend a local event so we did not get enjoy the lake.

Peaceful and Wonderful Stay
This property is in a wonderful location. The lake is just out the back of the property. The house was very charming and lovely. Our stay was really nice!

Great Friends Trip
Had everything we needed for the 8 of us. Great entertainment area in the basement. Owner was very responsive and accommodating our group by allowing us to check in early before we were playing golf in the afternoon.

Nice Family Vacation Spot
Our group had a great time at the cabin! Many days were spent outside relaxing near the water or fishing from the dock. All of the amenities mentioned were available. Location was close to town so we could quickly grab any groceries or supplies. The host, Darren, was responsive to messages prior to and during our stay. Overall a great family vacation!

in town for wedding, perfect spot
We were in town for a wedding and the house was perfect for a large family. A couple of bathrooms to get ready. Kitchen was well supplied. Nice fireplace. Didn't make it out to the firepit due to rain, but that would have been a nice little place to hang out too.

Lovely Space for a Getaway
Property is beautifully located on a lake and super secluded but close to everything anyone might need. We cooked all our meals at the property. Awesome new grill, propane, as well as a charcoal grill, and a great fire pit. Many seating areas both inside and out to spend quality time together. Spacious home with adorable decor. Darren was incredibly hospitable and kind. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect location for a Family Get Together
This house met and was beyond our expectations. Family members came from Grand Rapids MN, Grand Forks ND, and Warren MN. The house was warm and cozy. The pencil Christmas Tree with lights and skirt was an unexpected treat! All appliances worked without a hitch and the beds were comfy. Lots of room to play games, and eat meals on Christmas Eve & Day. Close enough to Brainerd pick up forgotten supplies.

Winter getaway
Upon our arrival our first major impression was that we were in danger of severely injuring ourselves on the icy walk. The property manager needs to find a solution to this if renting in the Minnesota winter. Other than this and a few areas not being totally clean, like under the table and the game room downstairs, I loved everything about this place. Location is fantastic, accommodating and well maintained! I would book again!

Decent Cabin for Six Adults
The cabin is nice and management was helpful but we had some bumps during our stay. Management had issues with the keyless lock multiple times, once causing our group to wait 45 minutes until they could meet us to open the door. We had to request more toilet paper because there was only 1 roll in each bathroom. The cabin was nice size for our group of six adults and we enjoyed the game/bar area downstairs but bathrooms could use some updates. We were told that we were only the third renters they had so I think the owner recently switched to a management company.

Cleaning and Bathrooms
We were surprised to find the home in such a state of uncleanliness. The refrigerator was dirty, as was the interior of the microwave. There were food scraps in the kitchen sink. Both toilets looked filthy. For a minute we thought it was water rust stains until we cleaned them and they came mostly clean by using the cleaning products available in the home. The floors were the worst. They were so filthy we had to buy a stick vacuum cleaner while we stayed to clean them. Several full vacuum canisters full of pet hair and debris, the floors were cleaned. Other than being unclean the home was as pictured. The lake access and dock were nice. The bunk house is a fun hangout too. The only other note is that the basement shower was not usable in the opinion of the 4 adults in our party, so we were limited to one shower. The property manager did come to clean the house when we reported the problem but it was half hearted.

The Perfect Winter Getaway
We loved our stay at Darren's place! It was the perfect cozy and relaxing getaway with friends. We loved being on the lake and close to town. The beds were so comfortable - everyone commented on how nice they were. Darren was so easy to work with and prompt in returning messages. Parking was sufficient for 4 vehicles and it was great having a full working kitchen so we could easily cook when we didn't want to go out. The basement was our hangout spot - we loved playing corn hole, darts, and shuffleboard while some hung out around the bar. We brought a Roku stick with so we were able to watch football on Saturday night downstairs. The entire place was very clean. The only thing that I would improve on is the seating. For the size of the cabin, there wasn't enough seating in any one room for us all to be together. The living room upstairs could benefit from some club chairs. The basement has just a couple of (not so comfortable) bar stools. I think with some clever rearranging, you could easily get some additional seating down there. But it wasn't a deal breaker - camp chairs would have worked if we had them. Would highly recommend this place, and it is on my favorites list to go back to - would just throw in some extra chairs if we have a larger group again.

Nice place. A few minor issues
Place is a great location and the lake is nice. Code did not work for the front door luckily the back door was open. AC did not work and the fridge leaked. Downstairs shower is unusable do to the floor coming up. Rest of the place was nice and comfortable. Beds were great.

Perfect for the 4 of us. Kids loved the darts and shuffleboard. Beds were super comfy. Large enough for 8 people. View of the lake was wonderful. Darren was incredible...promptly answering my questions and so accommodating! Would love to stay here in the summer

What a great getaway spot!
We came to get out of the city for family time. What a great spot! House layout was great for a family of 5. Host was prompt to answer questions about closest grocery and hiking trails. Fire by the lake was fantastic. Fully equip kitchen, gas and charcoal grill. Game room in the basement was key! Only issues were not enough toilet paper and no propane for the grill, but we were able to get to the store for TP and charcoal for the other grill easy enough. We will define stay here again!

Wedding weekend
The house was in a beautiful setting right on the lake. It was also close to town which was a plus. The beds were comfortable and there was ample room for the six of us. We really enjoyed our stay.

Nice property some issues
Enjoyed Brainerd Lakes area alot, beautiful property, Darren communicated nicely with me. However, basement bathroom leaked at sink when shutting off water creating serious musty smell, and shower floor, although beautiful, was very slanted and uncomfortable to stand on. Unadjustable showerhead angle in upper bathroom sprayed to opposite wall so much, it made using it a challenge. We certainly enjoyed our stay, the house needs work on the bathrooms.

Beautiful Lake Cabin
We loved the property, had a great stay in this cabin. We needed something fixed in the shower and Darren had it fixed that day. Plenty of space for 8 adults! We would come back again to vacation on this property!

Rice Lake House
Beautiful setting! We had so much fun sitting around the fire pit in the evenings! Beautiful sunsets! We were even able to watch the ski show from this property!

Nice place, but it needed more essentials.
This was a nice place on the lake with plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 kids under 5. The owner was easy to contact and quick to respond. When we first got there, there was half a roll on each of the two bathroom toilet paper holders and one extra for the whole 4 days we were staying for 4 adults and 2 kids. We went through all the tp in a day and a half. There was also no coffee left in the basket and the online description said there was coffee and a coffee maker, however, it was only a one cup Keurig maker. We were 4 coffee drinking adults. There were bath towels, but no kitchen towels or wash cloths. There were only a couple of drops left in the Dawn dish soap in the kitchen with no refill. We ended up making a Walmart run and buying coffee, a coffee maker, washcloths, towels, and dish soap. It's not the end of the world, but it would have been nice to know that these things weren't at the house before we came. There is also no dishwasher and the master bedroom was the only room with bedside tables, so we had to make makeshift nightstands out of laundry baskets in the other rooms in order to prop up sleep machines, phones, etc. We also bought cheap curtains because the downstairs bedroom had no curtains at all. It just needed a little bit more of a "homey, lived in" touch to it. Still a good place.
