Lovely place for a break for the extended family
Lovely big rooms, some with additional beds for extra guests such as children. Lots of wooden flooring, characterful decoration (stuffed animals etc). All the bedrooms are on the 1st or 2nd floor, so not suitable for anyone with limited/poor mobility.
Kitchen: No ice maker (mentioned in listing). No toaster - odd for a commercial kitchen and much missed by the children. Oven didn't work well - large range cooker, but the main oven has a smashed window and the side oven could not be used as it set off the alarm (not the smoke alarm) and tripped out the electric. When you have 20 guests to cater for, you need a fully working oven, so this need to be repaired to full functionality.
Plenty of fridge storage for food and drink, as well as freezers for ice creams (and improvised ice making) etc!
Pool was lovely - clean and pleasantly warm and enjoyed every day by the whole family.
Extensive grounds for roaming around. Large fish, ducks and even otters in the large stream that runs through the grounds.
Nice table tennis table, which we used a lot too.
Large dining room which we used once. After that we used all the outside tables for meals, as the weather was so good.
Despite the aforementioned kitchen issues, we had a lovely time at the chateau and would recommend to any large group of around 20, if they fit with the room configuration.
