We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. We picked the hotel because the ratings for awesome and the hotel is pretty new (6 months). We drove for 7 hours, checked in and went to dinner. When we got back from dinner we unpacked and ready to go to bed. We found a beetle bug in the shower and the sink. I went down to the front desk and let them know. They said, “thanks for letting them know”. The next day I heard nothing so late on the afternoon I stopped by the front desk and asked if they got a message done the night shift about the bugs and they said they did not. The person at the front desk said they were sorry and gave me 1000 Bonvoy bonus points. We went to dinner again and once again found another bug on the night stand light. We did not report it.
I guess in a just surprised with the reaction of the hotel staff. Finding bugs in a room is not very clean facility and could hurt their reputation and reviews. My wife and I are not people that like to cause issues and leave negative reviews but when we bring some issues to the staff expecting some type actions to resolve the issue and nothing happens, it makes is very frustrated.
They could have moved us to another room or at least comp’d us for for 1 night and had someone come to the room and spray for bugs.
Marriott is a great company and I have stayed in many properties over the years when I traveled for my company. They have always been very proactive in making your stay the best.
