Nice apartment in fantastic location
This is a fantastic apartment in a superb location. We were a family of four (with a mix of beginners and advanced skiers) and the apartment was very spacious. The apartment is exceptionally well located not only for the main lifts/gondolas, but also for the swimming pool in Mille 8, which we used a lot as we have two small children (highly recommended).
The owner was hugely helpful throughout with any queries we had, both before and after our stay. Our security deposit was returned within a couple of days of the end of our trip.
There were a few issues with the managing agent rather than the apartment itself:
On arrival, there was an extremely long wait before we were able to collect the keys. When we finally got to the apartment, there was no bed linen or towels, which we had booked. So we had to go back and queue again to request these. We were told they would deliver them to the room while we were out having dinner. Some linen and towels were delivered, but unfortunately there was still no bedding for the double bed, and by the time we realised, the agency was closed. We had to go again the following day to request the additional linen.
We did not find the apartment very clean. We often took items from the kitchen cupboards to find them dirty.
We also found the floors dirty - I walked round barefoot and my feet were black on the bottom. We were very careful to take our shoes off before entering the apartment, so it was not dirt created by us.
The owner was most apologetic when we mentioned this and apparently the agency chose a new firm for the cleaning, so he is going to complain. Hopefully this will sort out the minor complaint we had.
It does seem odd that we still had to clean the kitchen at the end of our stay even though we had paid for cleaning. We were aware of this at the time of booking, but we would have preferred not to do any cleaning at all, as we had an early transfer Saturday morning.
Regarding the apartment itself, overall it was excellent. The only comment is that it got extremely hot, even without any heating on, perhaps because it was a particularly hot/sunny week that we were there. At night this was the biggest problem, as it was very noisy outside until about 3am with the windows open, but really hot with the windows closed. I’m not sure what can be done about that, but it did cause a few restless nights.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday, this is a well located apartment and we would stay here again.
