Getting Around:
Ah, navigating the charming streets of the South End in Boston—where history and modernity waltz hand in hand! Whether you’re donning a top hat or a stylish cloche, getting around this delightful neighborhood can be as breezy as a summer’s day, especially when you embrace the wonders of modern transportation.

First and foremost, let’s talk about the dashing duo of rideshare services: Uber and Lyft. These trusty steeds are not only convenient but also remarkably more economical than the tiresome task of renting a car or hunting for parking like a modern-day knight in shining armor. With just a few taps on your smartphone, you can summon a chariot to whisk you away to your next adventure—be it a fine dining experience or a stroll through the picturesque streets.

Why, you ask? Well, consider this: renting a car often comes with a hefty price tag, not to mention the additional costs of insurance and the inevitable parking fees that can feel like a royal ransom! In contrast, a ride with Uber or Lyft is often a fraction of the cost, allowing you to save your gold coins for more indulgent pursuits, like that sumptuous dessert at Oleana!

The South End boasts excellent public transportation options as well. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), affectionately known as the “T,” provides easy access to the rest of Boston. Hop on the subway or a bus, and you’ll find yourself gliding smoothly through the city, all while enjoying the delightful views of this historic metropolis.

And for those who prefer a more leisurely pace, consider a delightful stroll. The South End is a pedestrian’s paradise, with tree-lined streets and charming parks that practically beg for exploration. You might just stumble upon a quaint café or a hidden gem of a gallery while taking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant neighborhood.

In summary, whether you choose to summon an Uber, embrace the T, or take a charming stroll, getting around the South End is a delightful endeavor. So leave the car rental woes behind, and let the modern marvels of transportation carry you toward your next adventure—all while you revel in the elegance and whimsy of this enchanting Boston neighborhood!

Interaction with Guests:
Ah, the joys of modern hospitality, where the charm of yesteryear meets the efficiency of today! Welcome to your delightful abode, where self-check-in reigns supreme and the allure of codes adds a hint of mystery to your stay—like a secret society for the discerning traveler! As you approach the entrance, you may feel a thrill akin to cracking a safe—after all, you hold the key to your own adventure! With a simple tap of your code, the door swings open, revealing a cozy sanctuary that’s all yours. No need for awkward small talk with a stuffy concierge; your charming digital companion handles the logistics, leaving you free to indulge in all the pleasures this abode has to offer. Now, while the interactions may be delightfully limited, fear not! Should you find yourself in a bit of a pickle—perhaps the Wi-Fi is playing coy, or you’ve misplaced your favorite sock—you can always send a message for assistance. Think of it as sending a discreet note to a friend across the ballroom, summoning help with a flourish. And let’s be honest, isn’t there something thrilling about the independence of it all? You can waltz in and out like the dashing rogue you are, exploring the neighborhood at your leisure, all while knowing that assistance is just a message away if the need arises. It’s a perfect balance—like a well-mixed cocktail, shaken not stirred, with just the right amount of intrigue! So, embrace the self-sufficiency of your stay. Revel in the freedom to create your own experience, with the knowledge that should an emergency arise, your trusty digital aide is just a message away. It’s the best of both worlds: the elegance of Edwardian charm paired with the modern conveniences that ensure your stay is as delightful as you are!

Massive Disappointment
I can't give you my impression of the property because I never saw it. When we arrived in Boston I was waiting on a text or email to give me check-in instructions. They typically come a couple of hours prior to the check-in time which was 4:00 P.M. When they never showed up I tried to contacting the host to no avail. Then I attempted to contact VRBO. Of course it's almost impossible to talk to a human but there are ways if you are persistent enough. They said they would attempt to reach the property owner and would call me back. After several hours with no return call I went through all the steps to talk to a human again. After going through several agents we were finally connected to someone who could help. They informed that sometime in the past the reservation had been cancelled by the property owner. I was not given a reason. While on the phone I received the email that I had never received explaining that the reservation was being canceled. The agent was actually pretty nice and told us they would refund all of our money and would pay for a hotel room for us for that night. The next night we would have to cover. (we had originally had a 2 night rental). Sounded reasonable and we accepted. When we got to the hotel they couldn't locate the reservation. Fortunately they were able to accommodate us but because this was hight volume season the second night cost us $1,100 per room. So even thought they paid 1 night we lost money plus lots of hassle and stress.

Apartment was fine; Inaccuracies in listing
The apartment was fine; it was clean and modern and there was security and the neighborhood was ok. There were two bedrooms and two baths and the living room had a sectioned off area with another futon. So not a room, but enough privacy and space for another one or two to sleep. Furnishings were fine but a little sparse; could have used a few more dishes and another lamp or two. A place that supposedly sleeps six had 3 coffee cups and I think 4 plates. The VRBO listing was not accurate as to location. The actual address was not given ahead but the pinpoint is at Tremont and Berkeley. A few days before our trip, I got an email saying the apartment is on Harrison Ave, a few blocks away. Then I got access instructions a day later to an apartment in Cambridge; over 2 miles away, across the river. Communication with the owner seemed to shrug it off, like they're still figuring out how VRBO works. We were traveling with a senior with limited mobility and we incurred a lot of extra driving and parking fees as well as additional time and stress from driving in and out of the city. Also, I do not think the photos on this listing are of the apartment in Cambridge. They must be of a different apartment. Price was high, even if it was market value for the area and space and time of year. Overall, the apartment met our needs, but the deviation from what we thought we were booking added cost and time and stress to an already expensive trip.
