5-bedroom, 2 full bath house, 7 mi to Boston/airport, 1000 FT to bus and train and located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Luxury appointments, upscale furniture, hotel bedding, "5-star kitchen" per a famous chef who stayed, AC/heat (mini-splits) in all rooms, fenced in yard, and 3-car driveway.

The City of Melrose was the #1 real estate market in the U.S. in 2015 and #4 in 2020 (search "hottest zip code melrose ma 2015"). It receives praise from visitors due to its quaint downtown within walking distance, restaurants and a Whole Foods supermarket.

*1st Floor: Large, open-concept, "5-star kitchen," (includes paper towel roll, dish cloths, new sponge and food staples, e.g. cooking oil, spices, sugar, coffee, etc.); dining room; full bath; and foyer. Large 20x20 deck off of the kitchen with gas grill.

*2nd Floor: 4 bedrooms (3 queen beds, 1 full), washer & dryer, and full bath.

*3rd Floor: Finished attic bedroom with queen bed.

*Basement: Large finished room.

2 Pack 'n Play, 2 high chairs, baby gate and stroller

The driveway holds 3 cars, but the 3rd spot is tight. There is no on-street parking overnight.

Check in is 4 pm or later and check out is by 11 am, but I can accommodate early arrivals or late departures depending on other guests' timing. Please contact me to coordinate about 2 weeks prior.

Please tell me about your group, pets and the reaon you're visiting when inquiring or booking. Someone in the group should be at least 35-years old, but I make exceptions. This a great place for family and mature friends to gather, but not a party house. Parties will result in immediate eviction, no refund for the remaining days, and a charge for any cleaning beyond the normal cleaning fee.

Boston Marathon guests must arrive on at least the Friday of the weekend prior.

The minimum-night stays for Nov 18 - 22, 2024, are: 1 night if arriving on Nov 18 or 21 or 2 nights if arriving on Nov 19 or 20.

My family had a wonderful time staying with our family dog for my son’s college graduation in Boston. Greg was a courteous and most gracious host and we thoroughly enjoyed being all together, lounging on the back porch, cooking and eating family meals, and just hanging out! There was nothing lacking and we would definitely stay again!

Excellent Weekend Stay!
We traveled to the area for the Boston Marathon. This home and location were the perfect place for us to be able to relax, cook our own food, and prep for the weekend without the hustle/bustle of the city. The close proximity to public transportation was great and it was an affordable Uber ride into Boston as well. The walkability of the town - to restaurants, churches, groceries, etc. - was excellent. The neighborhood was quiet and the home was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Greg was a wonderful and responsive host. Would definitely stay there again!

Family Visit to Boston area
We recently spent 3 nights at this beautiful home in Melrose. We had six adults and one child in our party as well as our two dogs. The home was spacious , warm and very clean. We had plenty of room to spread out. The location is perfect. It’s easy to get into Boston via the train. The station is just a few minutes from the house. It’s also a very short drive to get on I-93 and I-95. There are several great restaurants within walking distance. Greg, the host, was outstanding. He was very communicative and accommodating . We will definitely be booking this house again. I highly recommend it!!

Great house
Was everything we hoped for and more. The house was spotless and the owner even left shampoo and soap on the porch for us to use. We forgot something at the house and the owner sent it right back to us. There was plenty of room for the 8 adults. Great bedrooms and the dining room table was great at night to sit around. We never even went to the basement that had couches and a TV. Will definitely stay again when we go to Boston. Highly recommend!!!!!!

The house is a 4 BR, one of which is a lovely 3rd floor loft with one full bathroom on the 2nd floor with the bedrooms and one full bath off the kitchen on main floor. Spacious, well appointed kitchen. Had a small problem with the oven tripping the breaker which Greg promptly arrived and resolved. Great location just 2 miles from my daughter's house and right beside main street. The only reason I gave a 4 star was a dirty pan left in the oven and no towels or body wash in the bathrooms. Plenty of towels in laundry room tho. Will definitely stay here again!

Great for Boston Marathoners who want to spend a few days enjoying Boston!!!
This house is so comfortable and convenient. There are great restaurants within walking distance in the town of Melrose. Getting to Boston on the T couldn't be easier and driving in takes less than 10 minutes. The owner, Greg, was very welcoming and helpful. The house is so well taken care of. The bedrooms are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you could need. I was here with extended family to run the Boston marathon. Everyone was happy with the access to the city for sightseeing, shopping, etc. Getting into the city on marathon morning was easy and stress-free. I would highly recommend this house to anyone.

Boston Marathon Base Camp for Large Family - Great Rental Experience!
My wife and I plus our 7 kids recently rented this house for 5 nights as our base of operation for daily excursions to Boston. Nice quiet neighborhood, with a park only a block away and Main St. Melrose well within walking distance. Commuter train (rode once) is just a few blocks away and the T (station is located ~ 1 mile from this house) is a short drive (need cash for parking). This house was as advertised and met our needs well. Plenty of room and amenities to make this a comfortable stay. Owner was very accomodating to our needs and easily reached via text/phone/email throughout our trip. Driveway is long and narrow, but there is street parking as well. I really have no complaints and would confidently recommend this rental property to friends and family.

Charming Home Close to Downtown Boston
Stayed here with a group of friends for 5 nights. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood (just a few blocks) off main street in the town of Melrose. The town itself is very welcoming with great restaurants, coffee shops, and a convenient supermarket all within easy walking distance. The house itself is clean and very well appointed with everything you might need. Having items such as spices, sugar, condiments on hand along with paper towels, detergent, etc. is an added nice touch. The place is nicely furnished and has comfortable beds in all of the four bedrooms. We especially enjoyed the large flat screen TV in the living room with surround sound and a blue ray player. We also spent time outside on the large deck enjoying the afternoon sun. Traveling into downtown Boston was easy on the Orange line which is just a mile down the road or you can take the commuter train (3 blocks away) and transfer onto the Orange line. Greg was available to answer any questions and checked to be sure everything was okay. If you are looking for a clean, well maintained, nicely furnished house convenient to Downtown Boston then I would highly recommend this property.

Our son was getting married in Somerville, MA and we wanted to have a home away from home for dear friends and our son and his girlfriend. This worked much better than hotel rooms. Having said that, I was put off ahead of time by the warning to be careful not to damage the walls with luggage and thought I'd be walking into a pristine condition place. What I found was a bathroom with a broken toilet roll holder, light fixtures in need of new bulbs, night lights that didn't work, anemic air conditioners, and window blinds that could be raised and lowered, but couldn't be adjusted because the pole for the louvers was missing. None of these individually was a deal breaker, but taken together they add up to a place on the edge. Because I was concerned about being charged for things we found when we arrived, I reached out to the owner and his response was friendly, but dismissive. He was aware of everything and it was what it was. It was a step above being in a hotel room, but it wasn't nearly as good as we anticipated based on other reviews. The place needs some attention. I think the owner has gotten complacent and is doing the bare minimum to keep up the place.

Perfect for group with no private transportation
My group of 8 adults stayed over the 4th of July. We arrived at Logan International with no private transportation but was able to navigate the city with only minor blips due to ease of MBTA bus and rapid transit stops. Shopping in downtown Melrose was mere blocks away for groceries and restaurants. Greg's description of his lovingly renovated home was very accurate and he supplied personal recommendations for dining experiences throughout the city. We ate breakfast at the house every morning and really appreciated the complimentary coffee beans and Kuerig. The keyless entry to the home was extremely handy when several times someone had to return to the house without the group during the day. Greg was never more than a phone call or email away. He texted upon our arrival to make sure we had settled in and personally arrived halfway through our stay. While still in the planning stages, he answered many questions not only concerning his property but Boston as well. He took our minor suggestions for improvement to heart and his follow-up was phenomenal. We utilized the friendly local taxi service several times as we did not want to wait for bus service due to weekend scheduling of pickups. We purchased a weekly MBTA pass and, for the most part, got where we needed in a timely fashion. I would NOT have wanted to drive in the city and find parking! I would encourage someone without a car to become familiar with the MBTA website prior to arrival. Most venues state which "T" line they are located nearest which is extremely helpful when planning your sightseeing. The stairs to the attic bedroom are fairly steep with narrow treads and would suggest assigning it to the most nimble member(s) of your group. I really appreciate the fact the he/Bostonians religiously recycle and encourage guests to do so also. We made daily contributions to his composting bin located in the backyard and the recycling bins in the house.

Wedding celebration
Our group of 8 were visiting for a wedding. The home was spacious and we did not feel we were not on top of each other when we were at the house. We were close to the train to get to Boston. The deck was a great place to sit and catch up. Communication with the owner was awesome. He was very responsive and helpful. The owner is willing to work with guest with checking in and out! The drive way is tight, however we were able to fit 3 vehicles. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. Highly recommended Turners Seafood, get the stuff shrimp!! The home was clean. The house is well stocked for cooking( even though we did not cook). The beds were comfy for our stay. The 3rd floor bedroom is a climb but we made the youngs one take that one!! The upstairs shower water does not get that hot, it is luke warm. The downstairs shower is super hot! Both had great water pressure. The living room couch is big enough for all of to sit comfortably to watch some football!
