"We loved our very private three bedroom + three bath, two story apartment in this historic castle. It is spacious, beautifully furnished. And it has its own tower. The patio with arbor and view was a great place to dine. Staying here was a highlight of our trip. A good base from which to make day trips (Siena, Florence, Montepulciano). We were made to feel welcome."

Tripping hazard in kitchen area (step down to well), very uncomfortable dining chairs, two-seater sofa is only soft seating, odd mix of bits of crockery, cups/saucers don't fit, lots of useless clutter in kitchen, dreadful damaged cooking pots/pans. "The service at this hotel was impeccable. We were running late for our wine tasting but they were still SO accommodating! The rooms were beautiful and the view from the hotel are amazing. We enjoyed our stay very much.

"We had an excellent 4-night stay at Hotel Italia. We were particularly impressed by the friendliness, helpfulness, efficiency of the staff - desk, breakfast room, cleaning service. Our room was clean and well-kept. All the facilities worked well: shower temperature and pressure, heating, lights, tea kettle, refrigerator. The beds were standard European firmness. The bedding was cozy. Breakfast was a delicious spread, with lots to choose from. The Hotel is just a few minutes walk from the train station, and an easy walk to the historic district. We highly recommend Hotel Italia."
