Sapphire Reef Villa, Ocean Front on a Protected Reef, Pool, Staffed, Private

Situated on the breathtaking North Coast, Sapphire Reef Villa is surrounded by a protected reef noted for its variety of sea life and beautiful corals. There are 4 spacious bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms. The villa overlooks the reef to provide 180 degrees of beautiful panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea with splashes of sapphire and turquoise. Cool off by taking a dip in the crystal-clear pool then have a cold drink in the gazebo. The villa is fully serviced with a cook, housekeeper and grounds man. The location is ideal as we are near some of Jamaica's best-known attractions, such as Dunns River Falls, Mystic Mountain, Swimming with Dolphins, Blue Hole, Blue Mountain hiking or biking, golfing etc. The villa is on the main road which provides easy access to all local attractions, cultural events and shopping.
We have WIFI, cable TV, DVD's and board games.
Guests have exclusive use of the property, pool and grounds. The villa is a great escape for families, friend get togethers, honeymooners or even better for 2nd honeymooners.
On the sea, the trees and garden provide complete privacy for our guests to enjoy the pool, the sun and night sky.
For peace and relaxation, there is jetty/pier at sea level for snorkeling, swimming or just lying on a chaise lounge with a cool drink.
The water off the jetty depending on the tide is about 2-3 feet, and suitable for children and adults new to snorkeling. Beautiful colorful fish are observed right at the jetty. The reef is protected; the coral and fish are diverse and abundant.
Guests are served their meals either outside or inside dining areas. The cook will work with you on the menu as well as do all grocery shopping. Guests are responsible for all grocery costs to prepare meals.
We are 5 minutes from Ian Fleming (OCJ) airport, about 1.5 hours from either Montego Bay(MBJ) or Kingston(KIN) airports.
A licensed masseuse is available to provide their services on the pool deck while gazing into the blues of the sea. A beauty shop nearby for mani-pedicures.
Snorkel in front of the villa, no need to schedule a time, just walk down to pier. Snorkel or swim (5 minute walk) to Marley Beach, a small sandy beach and pier. Beaches such as Sugar Pot Beach, James Bond Beach or Pleasure Cove Beach are within 10 minutes by car.
Spectacular sunrises and sunsets are viewed throughout the villa including ocean side bedrooms. Imagine waking up to a Caribbean sunrise, sipping Blue Mountain coffee, while watching the fishermen go out to sea.

Great time in Jamaica
We had a wonderful time at this unique property. Location on the coast was beautiful - very private with our own pool and access to the ocean. Were able to snorkel out to the reefs but even staying close to the shore you can see some sealife. Property itself was great with panoramic views. Staff were great and spoiled us - delicious meals by chef, explained in great detail. We rented a minivan and did a lot of sightseeing (DunnRiver Falls, Blue Mountain coffee plantation, Worthy Rum Plantation, Green Grotto, Rose Hall). Felt very safe the whole time

What an amazing vacation we had, thanks to you & your staff!! Mark was a fantastic chef & made so many delicious meals for us. He prepared some local Jamaican meals for us & we really enjoyed them. All of his meals were fantastic! We really enjoyed our trips to the local market with him, so fun! Latoya was just the sweetest soul & made sure we didn't have to lift a finger the entire 2 weeks. Jamieon was awesome & kept the grounds pristine, put out lounge cushions for us every morning & the pool was sparkling. We felt so safe with him watching out for us. I can't say enough about this team, they were so great & made us feel so welcome & cared for. We will definitely try to come back & stay here again!!

Amazing stay
This was the perfect property for a fun and relaxing vacation for a family of 7, including 5 young adults. Chef Mark, Latoya and Jamieon made us feel like family. I miss you already!! The meals were 5 star restaurant quality and Chef Mark went out of his way to prepare special dishes for the one vegetarian in the group. We hired Marvin as our driver for the entire stay, which I recommend. We asked him to take us to the places where locals go, and we had an amazing time. If you want to experience the real Jamaica, not just sit in a resort, and receive 5 star pampering, villa life is the way to go. We are looking forward to visiting again.

Wonderful Vacation!!!
This is an amazing place! The view, the pool, the snorkeling. The staff were wonderful! Excellent meals! Great communication! Exactly as presented on VRBO. If I ever get a group of 8 together again, I'll definitely look at Sapphire Villa first! A couple of tips for newcomers: Clearing at customs at Montego Bay Airport takes a while. Many shops and stores are closed on Sunday, so provision up on Saturday. Get your Jamaican Patties early. Use one of the van services the owner recommends.

Christmas, & New Years 23/24
We arrived late December 21. The staff greeted us and brought in our luggage and helped us get settled. The chef had purchased "patties" for us so we had had somethinv to eat after a long day of travel. We planned a time for breakfast and then we settled in for the night. We spent most of our trip snorkeling and hanging out by the pool. The Reef out from the house was awesome. Jamien and Mark are so helpful and will answer any questions you have. They took us out for New Years and took really good care of us and found us a place that we didnt have to pay a huge cover charge to get into. Mark took us to the market shopping and he was helpful when it came to planning meals. Mark is an amazing chef. I am thinking i should go back for a week for cooking lessons ( or just to be there for another week). The only part we didnt like was the 2 hour drive to the airport, we heard there maybe a flight coming into the airport that is 15 mins away. All and all it was an amazing vacation.

A Fabulous Week
Our week in Jamaica was amazing. We traveled with 2 adult children and their spouses, my mom and sister-in-law. It was a perfect set-up for everyone, so nice every bedroom had their own bathroom. The staff was beyond excellent. Chef Mark was a pleasure work with. His ideas for evening meals and breakfasts were perfect and tasted amazing. We all loved the Jamaican authentic breakfasts, and of course jerk chicken and jerk pork meals were outstanding as well as the fish and shrimp. Latoya was so friendly and helpful with anything we needed, answered all of our questions and was so pleasant to talk with. Jamien was excellent to work with as well. He was able to arrange transportation whenever we needed it, helped us rent a boat and kept an eye on us. You can't go wrong with this property and staff. I loved all the plants in the house. The outside areas are perfect. You can be outside all day long, even if it rains. The neighborhood bar we went to was lovely and a 2 minute walk. When arriving in Montego Bay the line getting to customs is quite long but seems to go pretty fast. I'm not sure how but several groups had a sign waiting for them and they were able to bypass the long line. It sounded like they had to catch another flight. Wondering if there is a quick flight from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios. I would try to arrive in Montego Bay as early as possible to get to the property by 4 p.m.

Amazing Villa
Where do I begin describing our amazing stay in this villa? We six friends woke each morning to coffee as we drank in the beautiful and expansive ocean views. Some days we took in the adventures of the island on boat rides, at the Blue Hole, river tubing, touring botanical gardens or Rastafarian Village. Others we stayed at the villa, enjoying the pool, reading, having massages, snorkeling along the reef. At night we slept long and peacefully on the very comfortable beds. But the most amazing part of this villa was the incredible staff. Mark (the chef) not only prepared delicious meals at the times we requested, but was able to accommodate all our special needs (with one vegan, one who ate no beef, one who ate no fish) as though it was no problem at all. Latoya (the housekeeper) not only kept the villa spotless doing usual housekeeping chores, but also arranged for our massages and became a true friend as she conversed with us about families and life in general. Jamian (the groundskeeper) was so much more than a gardener, which he did beautifully. He also arranged for a dive master and boat to accompany us to the reef, and for our tour on a glass bottomed boat. All three did their jobs emitting true joy, there when wanted, but totally unobtrusive when appropriate. I should add that we were a group of six women in our sixties and seventies, a couple with limitations that come with age. This in no way stopped all of us from thoroughly enjoying this amazing Villa.

A Tropical Paradise with Exceptional Synergy
Our time at the villa was nothing short of a dream come true. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the beauty of the location and the warmth of the staff. Chef Mark delighted us with every meal. His culinary expertise was simply outstanding. Whether it was a traditional Jamaican dish or other local favorites, Chef Mark's creations were a true feast for the senses. Working alongside him was LaToya, the villa's housekeeper, who ensured that our living space was always clean and comfortable. She approached her work with genuine care, and it was evident that she took great pride in maintaining the villa. Every time we returned to our room, we were greeted with a spotless and inviting atmosphere. LaToya's warm smile and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home throughout our stay. Completing the exceptional trio was Jamieon, the villa's dedicated groundskeeper. He anticipated our needs and was always on hand to assist with any request, no matter how big or small. His cheerful attitude and eagerness to ensure we had a fantastic time made our vacation even more enjoyable. Their seamless coordination and teamwork created a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere that made our stay truly special. Beyond the exceptional staff, Sapphire Reef Villa itself is a slice of paradise. Our stay at Sapphire Reef Villa
The staff are amazing people. We ate really good food, Adrian is an amazing cook. Javan is so helpful, fun to be around. He showed us where to go snorkeling and picked up a puffer fish that was real cool. He is a very thoughtful person, always checking to make sure we put on sunscreen. Stephanie was our server and housekeeper even though Troy probably drove her nuts she took good care of us. The dogs we enjoyed, they know their job. We brought them toys and treats. One thing.... getting hot water seems to be a thing here. I read in the reviews that people were running out of hot water, but never thought it would be a big issue. We'll we had none. No hot water. They did get a few service people up on the roof to fix the hot water problem and by our last night there I was able to get one hot shower. I'm sure they have it repaired now. House was nice just like the pictures. Close to the road so you hear load road noise rather than the ocean. It takes 84 steps down to the ocean, that's 84 steps back up with several landings to rest. The landscape was amazing, beautiful flowers with hummingbirds and blooming trees. Very private and safe.

Excellent villa and vacation
Sapphire Reef Villa is aptly named: the reef is truly this colour! The villa is as described by all the positive guests before us - beautifully appointed inside, very spacious and ideal for a family or 3 couples wanting privacy. The grounds and out side areas are lovely, the pool fab. It is spectacular to have small areas of reef literally right off the landing jetty - you see a wonderful array of marine life right there. This was a revelation to us. One day the wind dropped enough for lovely Jahvan to take us out across the reef, allowing us to experience a greater variety of corals. Adrian cooked us so many delicious dinners, introducing us to loads of local ingredients and quickly gauging our tastes. The mango tree at the entrance is dripping with fruit right no (March-April). Adrian also prepared breadfruit from the garden. We used Turner taxi for the airport runs but Bunny for local trips - such a hoot! We had a magnificent day in the Blue Mountains with him; plus trips to Konoko Fall and a couple of visits to Ocho Rios and the environs. The villa feels totally safe and private and we can vouch that the mosquito screens are fully effective! We were certainly aware of the road noise on and off day and night as others have mentioned, but totally worth it for the location. Sandra is really a super host - her communication throughout; the thought she has put into the house to make it comfortable - lovely soft furnishings, linens; touches like a couple of sunhats. We are very grateful for the opportunity to share her family's home for our first experience of Jamaica.

The house is very lovely. The rooms are separated such that everyone has privacy. Once in the house the setting is exq uisite as it overlooks stairs and terracing down to the water. Beds are comfortable and linens are good quality. Seating for meals and relaxing is ample and pleasant. Jahvan manages the house. He is committed to your safety and comfort. Without his care and good advise and initiative guests would not enjoy their stay as much. The garage for the house is right on the road from the airport. Finding it and getting one’s car in and out safely requires assistance. He is right there to help. Although the house is right on the road it is very private once inside. Traffic will be heard. Adrian who is the house cook makes tasty local dishes. He will shop for you to cook as well. Stephanie takes care of housekeeping which we did not need too much. The pool has all the extras for lounging and swimming. The reef is clear and warm. Jahvan will snorkel with you but you can go out on your own. We did not see as many fish as in other experiences but saw one Ray. When cruise ships are not in harbor the main tourist adventures are within 30 minutes drive. There are 2 small beaches near by that have fees and irregular hours. Everyone in our party enjoyed this house. There were 8 of us. Aged from 9 to 80.

Sapphire Reef is a Gem!
We just returned from a 9 day stay at Sapphire Reef and we could not have been happier! We were a family of 8, coming from MA and WA, including 4 teenagers, 3 adults and 1 grandma (technically an adult!). From my first questions via email, Sandra was super helpful and extremely responsive. We were flying in on Christmas Day so she was great about making sure we would have what we needed on a holiday with most places being closed. The information she provided on the villa, the staff, checking in, and the surrounding area was very comprehensive and useful. We felt very prepared before leaving the US! The villa was spacious, clean, welcoming with a great location and unforgettable view. The grounds are beautiful and the snorkeling right off the dock was superb! The absolute best part of Sapphire Reef is the staff. They were so welcoming, kind, funny, thoughtful, attentive and became like family. Miss Jennifer cooks like a world renowned chef! Every meal we had was incredible and she cooks with love. We tried all kinds of local specialities! Jahvan is such a sweetheart. In addition to taking us out to snorkle to show us the hot spots, he was always there with a smile, a joke, a laugh and a helpful hand, especially getting Grandma up and down stairs! The 4 teenagers loved that even though they wanted to go snorkle during a time that maybe wasn't the best for viewing, Jahvan was always able to find an octopus and other creatures any time of the day. And Miss Tasha? We can't say enough about her! She just filled our whole vacation and lives with love and laughter. She is so thoughtful and attentive. She made our vacation so incredibly special. These 3 love what they do and it clearly shows!! They all made Jamaica and our family reunion one we will never forget!

PERFECT AUTHENTIC JAMAICAN EXPERIENCE-WE WILL BE BACK!
I honestly don't know where to begin. From the initial contact with Sandra, to the day we boarded our flight back, it was perfect. This was not our first time in Jamaica, but first stay at a VRBO outside of a resort. And it was by far...the better experience. Although I hate to give away all of the details, as I think everyone should experience Sapphire Reef Villa for themselves...I will share some of our favorite & most treasured memories: DRIVER-Denton was off the island but connected us with Richard for the week. He'll always have a special place our heart. Richard became BFF's with not only our girls, but my hubby as well. OUR"STAFF FAMILY"- They were nothing short of perfect. Jahvan's early morning smile as he cleaned the property and prepared the Villa each day, was something this "early bird" always looked forward to. And don't get me started on the snorkeling. He has made it one of my most favorite things to do. EVER! Stephanie's smile and willingness to help with anything we needed (and having my coffee ready for me each morning on the patio) is something I still miss. Not to mention, she became my friend. And then there is Miss Jennifer! My new Mom. She is an amazing chef, a wonderful woman, and put a lot of love into taking care of everyone and into everything she did. These 3 fantastic people made the experience like no other. Their laughs were infectious, and their welcoming, loving, and authentic "no problem" attitudes always made us feel relaxed. They were always there when you needed them, yet never ever overbearing. We spent our first Christmas away from home on this trip. I was a bit nervous, but now that our girls are 13 and 18...we decided it would be a fun experience. It was awesome! Not only did our staff family hang Christmas lights for us, but I woke up one morning to a beautiful Christmas tree made from some of the Willow Tree cut on the property, decorated and all. Miss Jennifer said that she was trying to surprise us with something special...and I can't tell you how much it meant to me. They prepared our Christmas dinner by the pool/seaside that evening and dressed up for the occasion. (Even though we looked like drown rats...ha!) It was such an amazing experience. They take such pride in ALL they do. THE PROPERTY: Beautiful and PRIVATE! The proximity to the road is a little deceiving but once you are behind the wall/gates...that all disappears. DON'T let this deter you from staying here. 5+STARS

Good time in St Mary
We had an incredible stay right in front of the ocean. Marc went above and beyond to accommodate our dinner preferences, making each meal special. The location, along with the fantastic staff, made our vacation truly unforgettable.

Jamaican Paradise
The property was absolutely amazing Snorkeling out to the reef every morning was unbelievable. The host was very accommodating. We can’t say enough about the staff the three of them are incredible!

Great Villa, team and Host!
We spent Thanksgiving week at Sapphire Reef Villa and had a fantastic time! The property is exactly as is shown in the pictures, with a great view that we enjoyed all day. Ms. Jennifer cooked a different local dish every day, all of which were amazing. Ms. Stephanie took care of keeping the villa spotless and Mr. Jahvan assisted with anything we needed. The location is a short 30 minute drive from the major attractions (Dunn's River, Blue Hole, Rafting, Horse riding, ...etc). Sandra was very quick to respond to all our inquiries and provided recommendations on transportation and activities. The hot water in the showers was not always available but we never felt it was an issue. Overall a fabulous experience!

Our second visit to Sapphire Reef Villa
The upstanding views of the sea and reef particularly at breakfast, delighted us as in our first visit three years ago. The warm welcome by Miss Jen and her marvellous cooking and food presentation reminded us of the reason for returning for a second visit. Miss Jen met the diverse needs of our family of seven with a smile throughout. Jahvan has matured into a lovely professional young man who daily helped to make our stay a pleasure. One great negative was the absence of Natasha. We missed her professional touch and her daily towel origami. Another negative was getting sufficient really hot water for baths for seven people. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

So Peaceful!!!!
We had a wonderful week of pure relaxation at Sapphire Reef Villa! The pool was a perfect spot to read and float and the pool deck has the most amazing view. We never got tired of looking out at that view! The snorkeling off the property was also fantastic. Water is beautiful and clear, make sure to bring your masks, snorkels, and fins! It’s rocky getting in so highly recommend full foot fins, but water shoes at a minimum are a must. Saw lots of amazing fish snorkeling on our own up and down the shore. Asked Jahvan take us out to the reef once as well and he pointed out some amazing things, holding a puffer fish was the highlight of our trip! Also saw rays both in the water and even all the way from the pool deck, just beautiful! One of our favorite things was to walk down to the dock in the late afternoon with a drink and just sit on the edge and dangle our feet in the water. Such a beautiful, calming spot! The staff were wonderful and took excellent care of us! The house is perfectly clean and comfortable, but be aware that the air conditioning is only in the bedrooms and the rest of the house can get hot. We were there in August though so probably better in the cooler months as well. Other than sleeping we spent every moment outside though so wasn’t really a problem. You can spend a lot more to get a luxury house, but if you want a beautiful spot to enjoy the pool and the ocean for a great price this is a wonderful choice!

Lovely relaxing place
Overall fantastic place. Very relaxing. Top things we loved: - the staff is remarkable! They are lovely to be with and very kind and helpful. We were so grateful to have them. - the food! Wow amazing in so many ways. Ms Jennifer made us delicious meals and it was a highlight of our time. -the place is clean and perfect for spending most of your time outside. We loved the covered seating for morning coffee and general relaxing. - the snorkeling is fantastic. We went out in the water everyday and saw tons of fish, stingrays, etc. great swimming! Some things to consider: - there is WiFi but it’s spotty. No zoom calls probably. - the road outside is busy and two of the bedrooms noted hearing traffic at night (a sound machine helps). - there could be more shade umbrellas by the pool… Overall we had a fantastic time!

Home Away From Home
From the time we were met at the front gate from staff to the time we left we felt so at home. Miss Jennifer is like no other she is just like another mother in the way she took care of us, from sitting down and planning our meals to helping plan a 50th birthday party she made sure nothing was left out and treated us like we were her own, her meals were the best we have ever had. The warm ambiance of the villa was so relaxing peaceful and quiet, not to mention the cleanliness. Having our room cleaned daily beds made and sheets washed after 3 days was very surprising to us but also very impressive. This is how well we were taken care of. Both Jahvan and Miss Jennifer were always around for what ever we needed and always checking up on us. I was also very happy with the host Sandra as she was also checking in to make sure our stay was good and helped me with planning as well. Although the Villa is fully staffed we still felt like we were there alone which we loved we still had the privacy we were looking for. The coral reef in front of the villa was something else and Jahvan's tours of the reef were incredible it became almost a daily adventure for us. We can not wait to get back to our "Home Away From Home"

Heaven of earth!
My husband and I, and our 4 adult children just spent the most fabulous week at Sapphire Reef! The house is great (just like the pics in the VRBO listing), but the outside is the very best!! We loved starting the day reading and having our coffee in the little sheltered outside area, and eating breakfast and dinner on the deck! The pool is a bonus. And the view of the sea and sky are just over the moon! So beautiful! But I would say the best part is being spoiled by the incredible staff, especially Miss Jennifer, the cook! She prepared the most delicious Jamaican meals for us day after day. We looked forward to what was coming next from the kitchen! We also loved Jahvan, who took us snorkeling a couple of times. He found a conch one day, and Jennifer made conch soup for us that night! They all made us feel so welcome and at home! We also hired a driver who Sandra connected us with. That was the right decision, as it made getting around the island very stress-free. If you're looking for a great place to get away with friends and family, book this place! Celebration Location
My brothers and our spouses went to Sapphire Reef Villa to celebrate momentous birthdays and an anniversary. All 4 couples had the best vacation of their lives. We were treated like royalty by the staff but ended up feeling like family. Miss Jennifer always exceeded expectations and lifted us up with her wisdom and friendliness. Tasha made sure Everything was just right. If we needed anything she seemed to know before we did. Javon really looked out for us both at the Villa and snorkeling off the pier. He guided us to the best coral groupings, he made sure no boats entered our snorkeling space. Their dedication to making our trip perfect was above nd beyond. We loved the Villa. The pool was lovely and the breezes plentiful. All 8 of us will be returning we are sure.
