Welcome to our charming, 65 sqm holiday home. Surrounded by a huge property (3,800 sqm) with a large sun terrace, lawn, pond, forest and a small stream. The location, in the middle of the newest German national park, Hunsrück-Hochwald, is a paradise for hikers, bird lovers, anglers and those seeking tranquility.
The well-cut and newly renovated house has been rented out since May 2018. It has a 25 sqm living room with fireplace for cozy winter days and a divan (1 bed). The stylish bedroom (sleeps 2) with its springbox beds on 17 square meters offers a high hotel standard. The 19 square meter and fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table leaves nothing to be desired. The house is completed by a small, fine bathroom (4 sqm).
The house is classified according to DTV with 4 stars! Our high standard also meets the requirements of ServiceQualität Germany. We are proud to be certified as a partner company of the national park.
Two award-winning circular hiking trails / dream loops start right outside the front door. Ten more dream loops are only a few minutes away by car. Börfink is a stage in the Saar-Hunsrücksteig. Hiking and nature experiences can actually be found here on the huge property and in front of the door. Do not be alarmed, because the deer roar in the immediate vicinity during the rutting season! In the morning you can see the deer on the meadows of the community in the fog of the Traun!
The national park is known for its old trees, the large number of wild cats and the black storks that nest here in summer. Seasonally you can also see ospreys and falcons that circle above the house. National park always means a bad mobile network and a weak mobile internet. An emergency cell phone can be provided on request.
The Forellenhof Trauntal in Börfink with its numerous fishing ponds invites you to go fishing - but also to eat fish in the evening. In the neighboring village of Neuhütten, you can dine in the Michelin-starred Le Temple.
At nearby Erbeskopf you can indulge in white sports in winter - downhill skiing, tobogganing and cross-country skiing are possible.
Culture and strolling can be perfectly combined in Trier, 50 km away. You shouldn't miss Idar Oberstein with its gemstone cutters and visitor mines. And the ring wall built by the Celts near Otzenhausen is also an impressive building - which of course is also wonderful to hike.
