We were both surprised and amazed by this place, the house is Amazing, the rooms are huge and Sabine the owner is wonderful! We had such a great time during our stay, everyone was so friendly and nice. Sabine goes the extra mile to make sure her guest are happy. We loved everything!
We loved sitting in the gazebo watching the Dordogne - especially at sunset. So convenient to St. Emilion and Bordeaux yet away from the noise and tourists. Lovely Sabine and Christina made our stay wonderful.
The location is fantastic for access to Bordeaux airport. The quality of the accommodation is magnificent, the breakfast is superb, the views of the river and the sunset is better than I have experienced anywhere (I have traveled extensively) and the owner and staff could not have been more helpful. I would very strongly recommend this property to anyone travelling near Bordeaux.
Lovely, sprawling property with every comfort and amenity and wonderful, helpful, friendly hosts! Breakfast was amazing in the peace and tranquility of the beautifully maintained gardens close to the river. We toured the wine country around and had excellent wine and food.
This property is set in the most beautiful surroundings. The hospitality here is better than any we have experienced elsewhere. The amenities, food, and space made for an incredibly comfortable, relaxing, and private stay. Wonderful!! Can’t recommend more highly.
Very relaxing stay by the river with super grounds to chill with a really cold glass of 🍷
Philippe was superb , we had a lovely welcome from him and we shall certainly will return when back in the Bordeaux area.
A real gem. Lovely rooms, beautiful environment, terrific breakfast ,heated pool and great hosts, we thoroughly enjoyed L’Arbre Rouge. Set amongst vineyards it is a real French treat.
Loved it all. Can't fault any single thing. Beautiful setting with nature round you, peace and calm, on the banks of river, gorgeous house, host couldn't have been more accomodating. Loved the extra touches (local cherries and apricots in the room). Thanks for the dinner recommendation, and calling them before we arrived, so we are looked after. Hopefully we'll come again soon. Can't wait.
A great place to stay. The address given on Hotels.com was wrong so gps did not work.
Once there it was beyond expectations.
All in all the best stay so far. We are talking about coming back for annual visits.
Highly recommend.
Relaxed and homey place, very clean rooms and entire place, secluded and very pleasant. It operates in an relaxed manner which is completely in agreement with its surrounding and cozy interior. We loved it.
Stayed 1 night primarily to visit St. Emilion which is about 15 minutes drive away. Converted, old, characterful property, beautifully situated on the banks of the river and surrounded by fields of vines. Owners are very attentive and personable. Lounge and terrace area where you can relax and where you have breakfast is very comfortable. Breakfast itself is superb. Room was large, but felt slightly basic and, though perfectly adequate, was a little disappointing. That said, I would highly recommend staying here.
This is the most stunning converted old French house with a beautiful courtyard. The owner was very hospitable and provided us with a lovely bottle of red wine upon our late arrival. A morning swim in the pool was a great way to start our day before heading off to St Emilion which was close by. The breakfast was great, everything was home made. Would definitely stay here again.
short 2 night stay in the area of Saint-Emilion.
L'arbre rouge was absolutely perfect. And even way over expectations.
Our host gave us many excellent tips on places to go visit, eat, or buy wine.
We loved everything about it and would come back any day.
This bed and breakfast is located within minutes of St. Emilion. On one side of the property lies the Dordogne River, while the other three sides are vineyards as far as the eye can see. The inside of the home is beautifully decorated and there are numerous places to relax with a glass of wine both inside and outdoors. My husband and I picked up some cheese, wine, and bread while in St. Emilion and then spent our evening enjoying them outside on a lovely patio as the sun set over the river. It was lovely!
We had never stayed in a bed and breakfast before so my wife and I really didn't know what to expect when staying here. We thought that there might be a reduced level of privacy, but that wasn't the case. We stayed here while on a wine trip to the Bordeaux region. The location gave us easy access to St Emilion, an absolutely beautiful town on the right bank with awesome restaurants and shops. If looking to visit the left bank, expect a long drive. The hotel sits right on the Dordogne river and as such, is a very tranquil setting. Francois did a great job of handling our needs. My 4 star rating for service was only a reflection upon the facility not having standard services that a larger resort hotel would have. But if you're looking for more a peaceful getaway, this would be it.
This is a great B&B right on the river. Extremely peaceful. Large rooms and good bathrooms. Hosts François and Geoffre (and Victor) most accommodating. Nice breakfast, more generous than some. Well located close to St Emilion and vineyards. A little out of the way, and some recent road changes, so make sure your GPS is up to fste.
