the location of the citadines is convenient. it is close to restaurants and points of interest in the city, but there are other hotels in the same area that would be a better choice. Also, attached to a park that had young adults drinking and making a raucous in the early evening, had to think about walking through, first time in Bordeaux i questioned my safety. The room, and whole hotel, reeked of cigarette smoke. I booked a double bed and had two singles pushed together, but made up separately so couldn't sleep on the crack if you wanted to. The front desk attendant broke out laughing when i approached the desk, all signs indicated she was laughing at me, quite unprofessional and unnerving. There was a lot of sound transfer between rooms so not a quiet sleep. The bathroom was clean enough but there was grime around the toilet, and on the baseboards, and the carpets were filthy in the room. Worst of all was the reek of smokes in the fabric of the room, even with extensive airing it would not diminish. It served a purpose for one night in bordeaux but i would never go back.
