Unique ocean front home located on Mill Cove, a picturesque and active setting with panoramic southerly ocean views with sunrises and sunsets. SUN ALL DAY. A 3 minute walk gets you to the heart of Boothbay Harbor for shopping, dining, boat rides, and entertainment. No need to worry about parking.
This cove is tidal and has 6-8 feet of water at high tide and is a natural habitat for waterfowl, Striped Bass and Mackerel.
The back yard features beautiful gardens and a sitting/dining area right at the water's edge under a large pergola covered with wisteria and grapevine. Relax in one of our many Adirondack chairs on the waters edge. Enjoy the fire pit while roasting S'mores and watching the sunset on the cove. If you're feeling adventurous, we provide you with 3 ocean kayaks, or you can swim and fish off your own private dock and float without ever leaving the property.
Relax on the large deck equipped with gas grill and large dining area overlooking the magnificent gardens and the harbor.
The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen features a large island with dine-up seating. The sun room/dining area is just off the kitchen and features cozy pillow wrap around seating. The spacious but cozy Tuscan-style living room has bistro-style dining for four, beautiful gas fireplace, 46' LED Smart TV with surround-sound with French doors leading out onto the expansive porch overlooking the gardens and cove.

Master bedroom has a king bed, separate dressing room as well as a lounging area with Smart TV. French doors leading onto a private deck overlooking the water. Bedroom 2 is water-view with a queen bed. BR 3 has 1 full and 2 twin beds . All bedrooms are located on the second floor. There is a full size pull out sofa bed in the living room. A/C in each bedroom, kitchen area and living room.

This traditional Maine home has been in the family for eighty years and has everything to enhance your Maine vacation. Wonderful stay
Although the weather was less than perfect with hurricane lee heading our way, there was plenty to do. It's a short walk to town and the property itself has everything you could.want or need. Our adult children enjoyed the kayaks and we all enjoyed the decks, chef's kitchen, and firepit. Karen and Alden are excellent hosts!

Exceeded expectations. The home was as-described, immaculately clean, and well-equipped. The location can't be beat - easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants, but still right on the water and private. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful, and kayaking from the dock couldn't be better. We hope to return!

An amazing home in beautiful Boothbay Harbor!
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay in this amazing home. We were celebrating my mother's 91st birthday and my sister's 70th birthday. Karen and Alden even gave my sister a birthday card and beautiful flowers. The kitchen was incredible and all herbs and spices were provided. Karen baked us a delicious blueberry cake. We had crab meat rolls and lobster on the dock in the water - simply unforgettable. We can highly recommend this property and we we definitely return some day. Thank you Karen and Alden.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Karen and Alden’s home. Everything was right on from Karen greeting us and the weather. Coming from Florida it was a joy with the weather. Had a great time at Mill Cove. Our first vacation since 2019 with our Luna (Husky) that we got right before covid. My husband and I enjoyed having all 3 kids with their husbands and girlfriend along with our little grandson who just turned 1. What a great spot and close to town where we walked alot! Just hanging by the fire pit at night was perfect! The hosts couldn't have been nicer. Thank you for letting our family enjoy your home!

WEATHER AND LOCATION!! Walk or short drive to town; GOREGEOUS views, gardens and home! Karen and Alden go above and beyond to make sure you have every thing you need and to feel like you’re in your own home!! Incredible kitchen, deck, fire pit for s’mores, kayaks! I walked the gardens every morning to see new blossoms from so many varieties of flowers! Even blueberries!! Boothbay Harbor is the coolest, friendliest town!

Incredible Stay!
This property was amazing. It was clean, beautifully decorated, and the hosts added so many thoughtful touches. The kitchen was fully equipped. There were plenty of linens. The beds were comfortable. The close proximity to town meant we didn’t have to worry about crowded downtown parking in Boothbay Harbor, but the space was secluded enough for privacy and quiet. Karen and Alden were quick to respond when we needed them and gave us a good run-down on how everything worked in their home at check-in. I can’t recommend this property enough!

Great Mix of Quiet, Comfort and Location
We had a rough start to our holiday, but upon arriving we realized that the place had the perfect mix of what we want from a holiday return. Great spot with lots of garden space, right on the water, and lots of natural light. The kitchen definitely enhances the art of cooking away from home. Good layout. We could talk to each other when cooking as when we stay at a studio apartment. The location gives the person staying here enough distance from downtown to enjoy quiet and deck relaxing, but close enough to allow for a short walk to Boothbay Harbour. The hosts have a good taste for design; you will really like staying here.

Slice of Heaven
My family and I stayed at this home in August and had a wonderful relaxing vacation. The house is situated in an amazing location with easy access to town and a wonderful view of Boothbay Harbor. The grounds of the home are absolutely gorgeous as Alden and Karen are master Dahlia growers. The home was also super well stocked. We cooked at home a couple of nights and everything you could need was right there. This was one of the most well stocked rentals we have ever rented. With any luck, we will return again next summer.

The best week ever!
I booked on a whim deciding that I finally deserved a real vacation and had no idea what to expect. This property as well as Karen & Alden blew my expectations out of the water. From s'mores by the fire, swimming and looking for crabs off the dock, relaxing on the decks, kayaking, treasure hunts and games in the yard, and enjoying the quirky, comfy and functional house (the kitchen is outstanding), we can't wait to return for years to come! Our stay at Mill Cove could not have been better. This is an unbelievably beautiful and special property. Everything here is just fantastic - from the huge kitchen, to the luxurious rain shower, to the eclectically-decorated living spaces, to the views out every window facing the water, from sunrise to sunset. The convenience of being able to just walk downtown from the home was so wonderful. Everything was impeccably clean. Karen is a joy and could not have been a more gracious host. We were comfortable in every possible aspect here. I think this is the best vacation rental that I've ever stayed at and I cannot wait to return here soon.

Great spot!
We had a great time staying at your home. The location is fantastic given its right on the harbor with a dock along with being a short walk to town. When in the house you don't hear much traffic noise. Even on the deck and out on the dock you don't hear much either. The home's eclectic decor is very interesting and fun. There is plenty of room in the well-equipped kitchen that also has a great view that you can enjoy while preparing meals. Eating at the large table surrounded by glass or on the deck provides great views. Having the ability to use the 3 kayaks while there was nice and allowed us to explore the harbors. The owners were very responsive at check-in and came to greet us when we checked in. They even dropped off fixings for smores to use at the firepit! All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

After reading the reviews for this home and booking it for our family vacation, our expectations were quite high. And I have to say they were most definitely exceeded! This home and property are everything others have said. The home is beautifully decorated with wonderfully appointed living spaces, the gardens are spectacular, the views stunning, and the location unbeatable! There is a lovely outdoor sitting space for every occasion and weather type. We made it a goal to sit in every one at some point during our stay! Karen and Alden were simply lovely, and it’s quite clear they take a great deal of pride in their home and their town. An exceptional experience!!!!

My family and friends just enjoyed the best, most relaxing vacation we have seen in a long time. I am an amateur chef and the kitchen was to die for. Fully stocked with everything you need! The home sets up perfectly with several "spaces" for relaxing, firewatching, hot tub, reading, conversing, admiring the flowers and eating! The location is perfect: waterfront with privacy and a 5 minute walk to town. We had fresh flowers from the garden in each room. Truly amazing the work and love Karen and Alden dedicate to their garden! We enjoyed 9 out of 10 days without rain! The day it did rain, no big deal, snuggled by the fire with a book! All the firewood provided by Alden (and it was dry!) I have stayed in the area for 7 of the last 8 years and this was by far the best home we have rented. We felt welcome and at home: Serenity! Thank you Alden and Karen (and Katrina the cat!)
