Adirondack style cabin with large logs and original art will excite you when you open the front door, but wont you be surprised to learn there are two more in the back! Positioned perfectly in a spruce forest, cabins encircle a large back yard complete with fire pit and picnic tables. The main cabin hosts bedrooms and kitchen while the second cabin has a pool table and additional bedrooms for the late night crowd. A short walk away is a private beach, it is like two vacations wrapped in one!
Sunset Lodge & Cabins is the perfect getaway for one family or two, with a large communal lawn/picnic/firepit area outside, and plenty of entertainment for rainy days inside, including a full-sized pool table. There are enough beds for 10 people in total, so you don't have to hassle with pull-out sofabeds or kids sleeping on the floor.
The cabins comprise a main house/lodge with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom guest cabin. They are located in the historic Sprucewold Colony in Boothbay Harbor and include access to a private, sandy beach.
The Sprucewold Association beach is a 5-10 minute walk and accessible only to residents and their guests/tenants. There you can swim, sunbathe or play with the kids. There is a kayak rack at the beach where you can leave your kayak overnight during your stay.
The cabins are built in classic Adirondack style, yet fully updated and modernized.
They are a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Boothbay Harbor in one direction, or to Barrett Park in the other.
Details:
Tom: This is the main Lodge with vaulted log ceilings, pine-paneled walls, Native American carvings, a huge sea-stone fireplace with carved wooden mantle, and many pieces of original Sprucewold furniture. Tom has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full
kitchen, dining room, a family room with a large, flat screen TV, and a large laundry room.
It is heated (hot water radiators) for those cool nights, but also has a gas fire inside the sea stone fireplace. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING and the cabin can get warm on hot days, but the evening breezes soon cool it down for sleeping. There is a sun porch with comfortable chairs and a desk, plus a small TV. The large outside deck seats up to 8-9 people. Tom sleeps 6 MAXIMUM INCLUDING CHILDREN/BABIES.
Dick: This guest cabin is where generations of families and friends have gathered for reunions and parties. It has a large great room with vaulted ceilings, a full bar along the back wall, and a huge sea stone fireplace (guarded by a moose known as Steve). There is a gas fire for those cool Maine nights. There is a pool table, a reading/TV area (DVDs and videos only or Roku via WiFi), dining table and chairs, and a small kitchenette with sink, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Dick has two bedrooms separated by a bathroom with a shower and an original claw-foot tub. There is a covered porch with four chairs. Sleeps 4 MAXIMUM.
Harry: Harry is the owners' cabin and is not available for rental at this time.
Tom, Dick and Harry are named after the tunnels in the movie “The Great Escape”. Tom and Dick are available to be rented together, sleeping up to 10 people. Or Tom can be rented on its own (5-6 people).
The cabins are far enough apart that those sleeping in Tom will not hear friends watching TV in Dick, or kids toasting marshmallows outside at the stone fire pit. The cabins are a perfect setting for family gatherings. Caterers are available, with notice, and housekeeping can be arranged.
