Sunset Lodge by Rocky Coast Rentals

Adirondack style cabin with large logs and original art will excite you when you open the front door, but wont you be surprised to learn there are two more in the back! Positioned perfectly in a spruce forest, cabins encircle a large back yard complete with fire pit and picnic tables. The main cabin hosts bedrooms and kitchen while the second cabin has a pool table and additional bedrooms for the late night crowd. A short walk away is a private beach, it is like two vacations wrapped in one!

Sunset Lodge & Cabins is the perfect getaway for one family or two, with a large communal lawn/picnic/firepit area outside, and plenty of entertainment for rainy days inside, including a full-sized pool table. There are enough beds for 10 people in total, so you don't have to hassle with pull-out sofabeds or kids sleeping on the floor.
The cabins comprise a main house/lodge with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom guest cabin. They are located in the historic Sprucewold Colony in Boothbay Harbor and include access to a private, sandy beach.
The Sprucewold Association beach is a 5-10 minute walk and accessible only to residents and their guests/tenants. There you can swim, sunbathe or play with the kids. There is a kayak rack at the beach where you can leave your kayak overnight during your stay.
The cabins are built in classic Adirondack style, yet fully updated and modernized.
They are a 10-15 minute walk to downtown Boothbay Harbor in one direction, or to Barrett Park in the other.
Details:
Tom: This is the main Lodge with vaulted log ceilings, pine-paneled walls, Native American carvings, a huge sea-stone fireplace with carved wooden mantle, and many pieces of original Sprucewold furniture. Tom has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full
kitchen, dining room, a family room with a large, flat screen TV, and a large laundry room.
It is heated (hot water radiators) for those cool nights, but also has a gas fire inside the sea stone fireplace. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING and the cabin can get warm on hot days, but the evening breezes soon cool it down for sleeping. There is a sun porch with comfortable chairs and a desk, plus a small TV. The large outside deck seats up to 8-9 people. Tom sleeps 6 MAXIMUM INCLUDING CHILDREN/BABIES.
Dick: This guest cabin is where generations of families and friends have gathered for reunions and parties. It has a large great room with vaulted ceilings, a full bar along the back wall, and a huge sea stone fireplace (guarded by a moose known as Steve). There is a gas fire for those cool Maine nights. There is a pool table, a reading/TV area (DVDs and videos only or Roku via WiFi), dining table and chairs, and a small kitchenette with sink, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Dick has two bedrooms separated by a bathroom with a shower and an original claw-foot tub. There is a covered porch with four chairs. Sleeps 4 MAXIMUM.
Harry: Harry is the owners' cabin and is not available for rental at this time.
Tom, Dick and Harry are named after the tunnels in the movie “The Great Escape”. Tom and Dick are available to be rented together, sleeping up to 10 people. Or Tom can be rented on its own (5-6 people).
The cabins are far enough apart that those sleeping in Tom will not hear friends watching TV in Dick, or kids toasting marshmallows outside at the stone fire pit. The cabins are a perfect setting for family gatherings. Caterers are available, with notice, and housekeeping can be arranged.

We love to meet our guests and go over the house, but we also respect your wanting to unplug and start your vacation. Red Bird is a self-check in but we are always available to answer questions or give suggestions. We are just a few miles away so you choose, if you would like to meet us or simply prefer to text or chat.

There was 9 of us aged 59+. The place was clean, wonderful, and spacious. We spent a lot of time chatting around the living room or deck area. Close to town but private. Would definitely stay there again when we go back.

Week in Boothbay Harbor
Great property. As advertised no a/c. But lots of fans to cool off. I think it was the week we picked being mid July. Beach was a little farther than we thought. Harbor where everything is, was within arriving distance and was great. Lots of shops, places to eat- just HOT! Most places don't have a/c. Found good parking and good fish and chips. Went on a puffin tour out of the Harbor. All in all a good stay!

Magical & Memorable
Nestled in the captivating coastal landscape of Maine, the cabins were thoughtfully stocked to provide comfort and convenience. They boasted a rustic yet modern aesthetic, combining original wood with contemporary amenities. Cleanliness was clearly a priority, as everything was spotless upon arrival. As New Yorkers accustomed to walking, we were delighted to be able to walk to a beautiful, pristine beach! Equally appealing was the proximity to Boothbay. Just a short drive away, the town offers a delightful array of quaint shops and restaurants. It was the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. The cabin complex also provided ample outdoor space for relaxation and recreation. A spacious deck with comfortable seating allowed for leisurely coffee mornings, picnic tables were perfect for family dinner, and the fire pit was cozy. Additionally, Lindsey was incredibly accommodating, responsive, and attentive to every detail. The welcome package provided a wealth of information about the area, including recommendations for local activities and attractions. We look forward to coming back next summer!

Great stay in Boothbay!
Our family really enjoyed our stay at the Log Cabin! We actually could not believe what a great value it was compared to some of the other options in and around town. The biggest surprise was how spacious the houses are, and how much we used the yard - we even had a family Wiffleball game. The beds were all comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you’d need to make a great meal. If you are after a log cabin feel with some space to spread out, that is walking distance to some great places (Spruce Point is beautiful walk and Boothbay Wharf was awesome) look no further.

Beautiful Property
Our relaxing vacation started as soon as we pulled into the driveway. The property is beautiful had everything we needed plus more. There was 5 of us that stayed in the Tom cabin and 2 adults that stayed in the Dick cabin. The homes were clean, beds very comfortable. Had everything you needed from fresh linens, games, to the kitchen being well stocked with dishes, etc. The water pressure in the showers were great. We spend our evenings around the fire pit enjoying star dazing and our days enjoying the sites around Boothbay Harbor and eating lobster. We stayed for a week and wish we could of stayed longer. I can't even think of one thing to complain about or to approve upon. Lindsay from Coastal Rentals was absolutely wonderful to deal with from the time we booked our reservation until we left. All our request were met. We are already thinking about next year.

Loved the log cabin!
The cabin was comfortable and well appointed. I had a couple of questions and the property manager responded immediately. There were 6 adults and 2 children ages 2 and 5 and there was more than enough room for all of us with the two cabins for sleeping and living space in the main cabin. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Lovely Cabins in Boothbay Harbor, ME
These spacious cabins allowed our family of eight to have a relaxing week in Boothbay Harbor, ME. The well stocked kitchen allowed us to cook meals at home. There was plenty of comfortable seating for all of us in both cabins. Downtown Boothbay Harbor was a quick drive (5 mins) and the private beach was a 2 minute drive or a 10 minute walk. The lack of air conditioning was not an issue since the weather was cool most of the time. We left the windows open and used the ceiling fans as needed. We loved the fire pit and the owner left us wood to burn. The pool table was fun as well.

We loved our stay in beautiful Boothbay.
It was a joy spending two weeks enjoying one of our favorite Maine spots with our three children. My husband and I grew up in the area so it was extra special to have the space to host our family that still lives in Maine. We spent many nights by the warm fire and enjoyed copious amounts of fresh seafood. The beach was a hit with our kiddos and being within walking distance to town allowed us to enjoy our favorite restaurant McSeagulls several times. Thank you for providing a beautiful spot for us to escape the hot Austin, TX heat.

The ultimate cabin in the woods hideaway!
We rented both cabins for our yearly vacation away from the world with our loved ones to explore new places. This rental did not disappoint! It is such a beautiful destination made even better by two gorgeous, comfy and stocked cabins. The property is beautiful and we spent every evening out on the deck just enjoying the view. We were even able to watch the fireworks from the front of house. Bonus with that! There are outdoor games that were available such as ladder ball and corn hole, a nice fire ring and more than enough chairs and deck furniture for all! Pool table was fun to have and use. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the cooking utensils and more than enough dishes needed for cooking meals and enjoying those meals at a large family size table. Beds are so comfy, plenty of bath and beach towels, extra blankets and fans for the warm days. We never felt crowded, the cabins are decorated with so much fun stuff to look at and the place was so clean even with a back to back rental. Everything as advertised. This is how all VRBOs should be. Lindsay was our contact, she made everything so easy and had great advice and tips for us about the area (breakfast spot, traffic warning and the best spot to see the fireworks). If we ever find ourselves back in Boothbay I would definitely aim to rent this place again. I can't deny that wish I could have stayed there forever.

Two Wonderful cottages with private beach
Our family included three generations and everyone had a wonderful stay at the Tom and Dick cabins. We enjoyed being in the woods yet only 2 miles to great pier dining, The house was immaculate and the manager and owners were attentive and responsive before and during our stay. Both cottages are unique with details left from the Sprucewool period. The owners have enhanced the stay with their attention to details to make guests welcome with updated appliances and recently renovated bathrooms ( all loved the oversized walk-in shower) The children age 7 & 10 enjoyed finding a new historical carving to ask about around every corner! The pool table was a plus on rainy days. Having plenty of space for three families made reconnecting and celebrating summer 2021 a very memorable vacation! Thanks for making our 3 yr quest to find just the right place- picture perfect!

Great family vacation
We just returned from a great week at the Tom and Dick cabins. We selected this property for our group of ten which included 6 children between the ages of 5 and 16. Everyone loved it and we had a fabulous time. The cabins were spacious, clean and very well equipped. The kitchen, linens and towels were all very well stocked with good quality items. The property is in a very quiet location with a beautiful backyard for the kids to enjoy the outdoor games. The private beach that we had access to was beautiful with plenty of sandy beach space. Happy Family Vacation Home
Our three generation family of 9 enjoyed a wonderful week in two of the cabins on property. Both were clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed and even beyond my expectation. The cabins were in a great location to provide easy access to Boothbay Harbor while being just enough off the main drag to provide peace and privacy. I would return to this rental without hesitation and recommend it highly. My contact with the property manager was easy and my questions were answered quickly. Excellent choice.
