About this property

2 Bed, Dog Friendly Cottage, on Bodmin Moor, Cornwal, Delphy Cottage

Located in the village of St Breward, four traditional Cornish cottages set in five acres of land, in one of the most stunning parts of the country. Enjoy uninterrupted views of Bodmin Moor from your doorstep, amble along to the local 11th Century pub for your dinner, cycle and explore the Camel Trail, take horse rides onto the moor virtually from your own front door, and there's so much more .
Hallagenna was once a farm and was the home of Beatos, the black stallion from the Lloyds Bank adverts. Although now no longer a working farm, Hallagenna maintains its rural character. We have our own miniature pigs and chickens here and horses graze in the paddock and share their fields with wild rabbits, which can be easily spotted amongst the grass. A wealth of wildlife can be found grazing the adjacent moor, including ponies, cattle and sheep. We have our own access to Bodmin Moor here at Hallagenna Cottages so it’s ideal for dog walking, hiking, exploring or simply taking in the view .

Named after Delford (Delphy) Bridge, a pretty stone bridge and popular picnic area on the Moor, this recently built cottage has been sympathetically designed to maintain many of the rural characteristics of old Cornish cottages with the benefits of modern design. A single storey cottage with exposed beams, it has an open plan living area which includes washer/tumble dryer, fridge, counter top freezer, cooker, microwave, TV with DVD/freeview and selection of DVDs, games and books. Wi-Fi access is included. Private bbq facility to enjoy in the Cornish sunshine in your enclosed courtyard garden located at the front of the property..
This cottage offers 1 double bed and 1 captain's bed with pull out guest bed, making Delphy ideal for couples, families with children or 3 adults.

Changeover day for this property is on a Saturday and minimum stay is 7 nights although we are open to enquiries.

Could not fault it
Quiet. Rural. Pretty. Well equipped. Lovely hosts. Good central location for exploring North Cornwall, though you will need to drive down very narrow Cornish lanes! Would love to stay again.

Absolutely perfect, hosts amazing and very welcoming.
Had a fantastic week staying at Hallagenna in the Delphy cottage. From our arrival to departure we were made to feel very welcome and the cream tea and biscuits a lovely thought. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for our time here, our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. We were able to visit Polzeath, Port Isaac, Fistral beach, Rock and Padstow. We hired bikes from the Snails pace bike hire and cycled to Wadebridge. The area of St. Breward was so lovely and peaceful and being so close to Bodmin to see all the animals on the moor was just beautiful. We really do hope to return soon. Thank you to Mick, Janine and Family.

Lovely cottage with everything you could wish for
Ideally located to explore both north and south Cornwall. Lovely scenery being located on bodmin moor. You get to see the wildlife on a daily basis. Horse riding stables right on your door step. Nice pub in the village only 5 mins drive away that does a very nice Sunday roast and a small convenience store for getting your essentials. Cottage itself was clean comfortable and with a good layout. Kitchen utensils provided as well as tv's DVDs and the shower was lovely. Nice hosts also who greeted us on arrival and just left us to enjoy our holiday. Will definately be going back sometime.

Lovely little cottage in great location
Ross and Brenda made us feel very welcome in their lovely cottage. It had all the self catering equipment needed, was very clean and tidy and we were given all the info needed to make our stay nice and easy and relaxing. The location is great if you like a nice quiet spot, though there is a nice pub and a shop only 10 mins walk away. Also only 30 mins to either north or south coast, so a really good base for exploring Cornwall. Ross and Brenda left us some scones, jam and clotted cream on arrival, as well as a pint of milk and some bits for hot drinks - really nice touch. Would definitely return and also recommend to others! Thanks!

Peacefull and cosy cottage,
Delphy was peacefull and cosy, lovely to come back to the warmth after a day walking and sight-seeing, especially in the mix of weather we experienced. really appreciated the constant hot water too in that weather. Cottage very well equipped, however could we suggest providing a breadknife as we struggled to cut some lovely cornish bread! Hosts available on site if needed but very discreet.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location
This was a lovely cottage, very comfortable with everything we might possibly need. It is in a beautiful and peaceful location, ideal for walking on the moors or for visiting the coast. The cream tea was very welcome after a long drive and was a lovely touch. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.

Highly recommend
I stayed here with my other half for his birthday weekend and had the best weekend. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, The cottage was lovely and has everything you need, even nice little touches like flowers, hot chocolate, and a little welcome gift. Eden project and the lost gardens were at an easy half hour drive. I do recommend the Sunday roast at the local pub. Will defiantly be staying again

A very cosy cottage
We had a fantastic time in Cornwall and the cottage was a perfect base for touring the area. The satnav had a mind of it's own and took us down some very narrow roads so every day was an adventure. The cottage provided everything we needed for our stay and the cream tea on arrival was delicious.

Truly lovely cottage in a truly beautiful location
We received a pleasant welcome on arrival by the owners and once inside discovered fresh flowers and a traditional cream tea, which was a very nice touch. The cottage itself was very clean & tidy and fully equipped with everything we needed: pots & pans, crockery, books, TV, DVD player with a selection of DVDs, all we had to supply was food. The cottages are arranged around a small yard which made it very private and our two boys (aged 5 & 2) were free to roam around and play outside safely. There is also a small horse stables and paddocks with some very friendly Shetland Ponies which proved to be a big hit with the boys. If you love the countryside then you'll love the location, it is literally on the moor; as in you walk through the car parking area, through a gate and you're there! Great views, great walking and some very friendly local wildlife. A short drive away there is the Blisland Inn, which is a superb old fashioned traditional village pub serving good food and beer at reasonable prices with a warm friendly welcome. Rock is roughly 30 mins drive and has an amazing beach, with regular ferries running across the estuary to Padstow, just make sure you get there early if you want any chance of parking! All in all we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Hallagenna Cottages, we will definitely be back. If you're looking for a quiet getaway in a beautiful, remote part of Cornwall it's well worth a visit.

the cottage was beautiful and homely and very well equipped.
We had a lovely holiday Cornwall, Delphy Cottage was in the perfect location for beach and moor walks. We were there in November and the weather was wild so the cottage was a cozy sanctuary. The owners were lovely and left fresh flowers and cream tea for us when we arrived. I can't recommend it enough, we had a wonderful time.

Natur Pur in angenehmer Atmosphäre
