5/5 Excellent
A warm treat in very cold January weather
"A friendly, welcoming lady greeted me on arrival and explained everything simply and professionally.
The room was warm, comfortable and most adequate for one night at the hotel. Very comfy bed.
The teas and coffees were well stocked with my favourite Clipper coffee - tremendous attention to detail, imo.
The bar restaurant has an open fire which was continually stocked as it was snow and sleet outside.
In the evening, the food, service, and value was nothing short of excellent.
Breakfast was very good too. The lady who served me was helpful and polite.
The decor isn't overly Scottish like a lot of Scottish hotels. Just enough tartan without feeling like your trapped inside a Bay City Rollers reunion concert.
Clearly, a well established hotel which is worth the visit."
