Boat of Garten is a perfect location for holidays whether as a couple or with family and friends and has excellent local facilities all within walking distance of Croftwood. Best known for its excellent golf course "The Boat", Strathspey Steam Railway and the Ospreys at nearby Loch Garten, it offers a great base from which to explore the Cairngorms National Park and the many attractions of Spey Valley and beyond. Cyclists and walkers can set off from the cottage and follow numerous tracks to Loch Garten, Nethybridge, Aviemore and beyond. We have some fabulous local businesses in our village to cater for shopping and eating out including well stocked Village Shop, Gashouse Cafe and bike shop, 1896 Gallery, JB's restaurant at Boat Golf Course, Anderson's Restaurant and Boat Country Inn & Bistro. Cairngorm Mountain Range and Loch Morlich are 20 mins away by car and the surrounding area has a wide variety of attractions such as Malt Whisky Trail, galleries, golf courses, outdoor and water activity centres and you can reach the beautiful Moray Firth beaches like Nairn and Findhorn within an hour.
