This quiet private cottage has all of the comforts of home but is close to everything...

The White House is situated on a 180 acre private estate that has been family-owned since the 1890's & is located within the gates of Colleton River .* You will enjoy escaping it all as you enter the property down a winding country road beneath majestic live oaks.

Slated to be demolished in the 1980's, The White House was saved and moved to its current location at Victoria Bluff Plantation. It has been remodeled and has all of the comforts of home. Enjoy tranquility surrounded by pasture, woods & lovely marsh views from your expansive porch where you can enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise over Mackay's Creek.

Should you decide to venture out, beaches, golf & tennis on Hilton Head Island are just a short drive away, as is old town Bluffton. Or perhaps a day trip may be store to Historic Beaufort, Savannah or Charleston.

If you enjoy boating, there is ample space to store your boat or kayaks and take advantage of the numerous public boat landings in the area.

For those looking to get away from it all with the option of plenty to do, The White House is the perfect fit.

This is our second year staying at the White House and we adore it! Peaceful and serene while being close to shopping, restaurants and activities. Rachel is incredibly accommodating and communicative. The house is comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. We love it!

Very relaxing stay!
We really enjoyed our time. We had great weather and sitting on the porch looking at the marsh and trees was just what I needed. It is a little bit of a drive to Hilton Head but it was the perfect mixture of being close to activities but staying in a relaxing environment. Bluffton is a very cute town as well. We used the grill one night and the kitchen had everything we needed. Communication with the host was great. We definitely see ourselves wanting to stay again.

Genuine Low Country Life
We stayed for a month in the White House and didn't want to leave. The property was amazing. We all felt like we were living on a mid-century low-country estate. Not pretentious, but nicely appointed and cozy. The hosts were attentive and available - live nearby. If you are looking for a genuine experience, book a stay with Hank and Rachel. I know we will be back!

We so enjoyed our stay! It was peaceful and quiet; the only sound were the birds. My kids really enjoyed exploring the surroundings and I loved not having to tell them to quiet down. The house is very comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Rachel was responsive and kind!

Checking into this cottage was so easy. We were very pleased that it was exactly like the photos in the listing. No surprises. The cottage was open and airy with an incredible porch and view. Beds we’re comfortable. Kitchen was lovely. Bathrooms and showers were great. Cottage had all the amenities that we needed. Would highly recommend this rental! Very very clean! Thank you Rachael!

Our group thoroughly enjoyed every moment at the White House. The house and the many positive reviews were spot on. If asked to find something negative, I could not. Perfect for us was the location, the seclusion, and the house itself. The kitchen was able to accommodate four women cooking Thanksgiving dinner, which is amazing. Rachael could not have been more gracious and helpful and we cannot thank her enough for her patience with our many questions.

A Magical Location and Beautiful Home
Our family of 4 (with 2 daughters ages18 & 21) stayed at The White House for 9 nights. I'm not sure I can describe how incredibly beautiful & relaxing it was! We felt like we were completely secluded, yet you're really not because you drive about 10 minutes through a gated community of stunning homes to get to the cottage. Turning off the paved road, a small dirt road winds through the woods & opens to a clearing with a beautiful pasture. Following the road around the pasture, you arrive at The White House, tucked in amongst the moss covered trees. Along the dirt road, we'd see rabbits, possums, armadillos, & even a small alligator that we fondly named Ronald. We truly felt completely secluded, with nothing but moss covered trees, forest, and the pasture surrounding the cottage. We never saw anyone the entire time until we got back onto the paved road. Although you arrive & enter the back side of the cottage facing the pasture, my favorite part of the cottage is the front porch overlooking a beautiful grass covered lawn & salt marsh beyond. The porch spans the entire length of the house with 2 cushioned chairs & 2 Adirondack style chairs (and a picnic table). Each morning we'd sit outside with our coffee & watch the cranes come to the salt marsh to feed. We'd spot small lizards on the trees and posts of the porch & even saw a racoon & 3 babies walk up from the marsh & climb the tree. At night, it's just as beautiful. The moon lights up the marsh & the owners installed lights at the base of several trees creating this magical, peaceful setting. The inside of the cottage is exactly as you see in the pictures. On one side of the living room is the King Room (facing the pasture), Queen Room (facing the marsh) and one of the 2 full baths in between. On the other side of the living room is the Single Room with the ensuite full bath. Each room had ample drawer and hanging space. The beds in all 3 rooms were amazingly comfortable with reading lamps in each room. The bathrooms had ample storage & the showers had great water pressure and really hot water. The bath towels were wonderfully thick and soft with plenty of extras stored in the King Room closet. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware. If you wanted to cook, I can't imagine you'd need anything. The full-size washer/dryer in the kitchen came in handy after a day at the beach. We would return to The White House is a heartbeat! Truly loved every moment of our time in this lovely cottage!

Just loved staying at this perfect cottage with a ton of southern charm. We have stayed there multiple times and the setting is so peaceful and gorgeous. Moss on the trees and an amazing view of the marsh and water. The back deck is so therapeutic and relaxing, I could sit there all day. I highly recommend staying there..

Words cannot express how magical this property is. The house was spotless and well equipped. High end linens, towels, and comfortable beds. But the back porch was where we spent all of our time. Steeped in history with 100+ year old live oaks draped in Spanish moss, a beautiful view, and abundant wildlife. All of your stresses simply melt away. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Incredibly beautiful property.
We loved staying at the White House. The setting and property was so beautiful sunrise to sunset that it reminded us of being on a movie set. We saw armadillos and all sorts of birds in the back yard and in the marsh. Driving down the driveway under the live oaks with hanging Spanish moss. Was majestic. Rachel was an excellent host and we look forward to returning the next time we are in the Bluffton area.
