The property was beautiful and clean - super comfortable beds and pillows - all amenities and great area - definitely recommend - the owners were very easy to deal with - we had no issues and would return .
We really enjoyed stepping back into the past with all of the modern amenities. This home is beautifully maintained in the quiet town of Bluemont. Located close enough to restaurants and activities while maintaining the quiet feel of a retreat. We highly recommend.
Loved this cottage. The back garden is amazing with a firepit and mini playground. The house is very comfortable with all the necessary amenities and convenient to local breweries and wineries. Will definitely rent again!
We were in Bluemont for wedding. Perfect spot for a family Fabulous backyard. Near breweries and wineries. Near AT. Great host. Our DC family will come back.
We were repeat guests to this lovely farmhouse. The location is perfect with access to the highway close by while feeling nestled in a small village in this beautiful area around Upperville, Virginia. If you enjoy historic homes, with the benefit of luxury bedding and updated bathrooms, this is the place to be. Hope to be back again!
The owner was easy to contact and provided great information. The house was spacious and located near beautiful wineries. We were visiting our son at SU. It was an easy ride to campus. The house is fully stocked too! We had a fabulous stay.
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful farmhouse in the heart of Bluemont! The home is well decorated, warm and quaint and is outfitted with everything you need for a lovely vacation. Michael stayed in touch and was available to answer any questions we had. He also provided a very helpful guide to great restaurants and activities in the area. We visited many of the restaurants, vineyards and breweries he recommended and had the most wonderful time. We can't wait to come back!
We were Michael’s first guests, but he literally thought of everything! The house is beautifully decorated, everything is in great condition, beds were super comfortable and it’s well stocked with paper products, soap, linens, etc. making packing a breeze. There were special touches like coffee and board games. Our kids LOVED the large backyard and swing set and we loved the fire pit and view. We went on 3 amazing hikes each less than a 10 minute drive and Michael gave suggestions on local restaurants and winery/breweries. The internet was excellent if you need to get any work done. We felt so comfortable there and can’t wait to come back sometime!
This is a fantastic property right in Virginia's Hunt Country. The description and photos don't do it justice - it is a truly unique home. Exactly what we were looking for in a very early spring weekend getaway - we wanted to stay in an historic country home, which is exactly what this is (but with the modern amenities we've all become accustomed to). Not a long drive from the city, but it feels like another world. Close to several great trails for hiking and / or running (Raven's Rock) and a quick drive to Middleburg or Round Hill for dinner.
Michael is a fantastic host. We knew exactly what to expect, accessing the property was a breeze and he offered many suggestions for how to spend the time- from hiking to eateries to kid stuff. We will absolutely be back!
Not only was the house charming, but it was immaculate. The entire group commented about the cleanliness of the house. The host was very responsive to all of our questions. It was the perfect spot for our weekend wedding trip. Lots of restaurants, vineyards, breweries and beautiful scenery. We would definitely stay again.

Very nice home. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the patio in the back yard with the great weather. It’s a short walk to the town general store. Buying ice cream and sitting on their front porch was classic yesteryear. Very comfortable and well supplied home. Wish we were there longer.
I stayed here the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids. It was a perfect location and beautiful house. It had all the amenities we needed including a great fire pit. Michael was very responsive and shared a lot of great information about the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Michael’s property! The house is beautifully updated while still keeping its charm and is conveniently located near multiple breweries and wineries in the Bluemont area. Would recommend!
We have rented quite a few places through VRBO and this one was our favorite. The house was perfect for us. It was large, spacious, and spotlessly clean. Michael was super responsive and answered all questions quickly. There is nothing I would have changed!
The home and property were everything we hoped and then some. Attention to detail and comfort for guests was very high. The home was a perfect combination of historic feel with modern amenities. The location was nestled in the quaint village of Bluemont, yet easy access to everything we needed. Look forward to our next visit! Thank you Michael for being a great host.
Myself and four of my mid thirties girlfriends stayed for a long weekend here to explore VA wine country and breweries. The house is SO amazing! It is clearly old (meaning built a while ago with large wooden floor boards, huge stone fire place in kitchen, etc) but so updated and clean. We loved relaxing on the front porch in the mornings/ evenings and utilized the backyard fire pit one night - it was awesome! Our host was always reachable and responsive. Also provided a ton of suggestions for eateries/wineries/breweries. We loved our stay. I highly recommend!
We came to stay at this beautiful place for a weekend for a family gathering. My husband, brother and his fiancé, and parents all loved this house. We were close to beautiful wineries and great breweries! The host was super responsive and made the check-in and check-out process a breeze. Although the house is older, it is beautiful, with amazing finishes/ touches. If we are in the area again, I would not hesitate staying here! It was a perfect weekend away!!
The property was in wonderful shape and had all of the amenities you would expect and more including bathrobes much to my wife's delight. The general store down the stret was a few minutes walk. Be warned, only get a single scoop ice cream cone at the general store, they are gigantic. Close to Rte 7 and othe towns in the area. All in all a wonderful family getaway.
Very nice historic property in old town Bluemont, walking distance from the General Store. Michael has done a very nice job updating the property with modern amenities. And it has a big yard with a nice Mountain View. He is very responsive and is an outstanding owner/host.
Really enjoyed our stay. The house had great character and the location was perfect for everything thing we did, tubing, casino, hiking and sightseeing through Harper’s Ferry. Michael was a gem to work with
This property was heaven- we visited as a group of girlfriends and none of us wanted to leave. The historic home has been updated with any feature a visitor could want but retains all of its charming character. The backyard was delightful both night and day, and we enjoyed sitting amongst the butterflies in the pollinator garden and watching the fireflies. The home was clean, comfortable, had everything we needed and more- making it an easy stay. Michael was an excellent host with clear communication and was ready to answer any questions we had.
In addition, the location is perfect. The general store is just a quick walk for odds and ends or an afternoon scoop of ice cream. There is a plethora of nearby wineries and breweries to enjoy, and the nearby bears den hike has views so spectacular we went twice! We will certainly be back!
If I could give Michael more than 5 stars I would! Top to bottom the entire stay was wonderful. The house is clean and beautiful on a large relaxing piece of property. The location is perfect for visiting all the nearby towns with wineries and breweries. Michael was so easy yo communicate with and gave wonderful suggestions.
