Lakefront Log Cabin w/Loft, Kayaks, Canoe, EV

Welcome to the Woodland Doe Lodge on beautiful Lee Lake. This lakeside natural log cabin is exactly what you need! With your private shoreline, the cabin feels very remote, yet is close to the interstate. ATV / snowmobile trails nearby - and access to tons of hiking and biking. Paddleboat, Canoe, 2 Kayaks, Fishing, Wi-Fi, grill, fire pit, Pac-Man retro arcade (+ more) are all provided for guests. EV Charger on-site! Pet friendly. Year round fun for all!

We are originally from West-central Wisconsin, but currently live in Illinois and the Woodland Doe Lodge is our getaway cabin. The thought of this amazing retreat sitting empty is what inspired us to list it on AirBnb. We're friendly, easy going, and easy to reach (via phone, text, or message). We're happy to help as much as we can remotely, but we likely won't have the opportunity to meet in person.

Besides all the activities at/in the cabin, Lee Lake has a "public access" private groomed beach just a 1 minute walk away. A boat launch is also available for your own watercraft, just a mile down the road. Millston has immediate access to state ATV / snowmobile trails, some small parks, and one convenience store/gas station- with an off-leash dog park! Most other "activities" are outside Millston into nearby Black River Falls/Tomah or beyond. These include:

-Black River Falls State Forest (Black River Falls, 5 mi North),
-Sand Creek Brewing Company (Black River Falls, 14 mi North),
-Ho-Chunk Gaming Casino (Black River Falls, 16 mi North),
-Wazee Lake Recreation Area (Black River Falls, 18 mi North),
-Castle Mound Pine Forest (Black River Falls, 12 mi North),
-Bell Mound Scenic Overlook (Black River Falls, 7 mi North),
-Mill Bluff State Park (Camp Douglas, 27 mi South),
-Wisconsin Dells various water and theme parks (Wisconsin Dells, 60 mi South)

Guests can access the entire property except for areas which are locked, containing our personal property (e.g., basement, garage, select cabinets)

Welcome to beautiful Lee Lake, with its serene lake views and our adorable rustic cabin! This cozy two bedroom, one bath traditional log cabin amid the Black River Falls, WI state forest is exactly what you need to rest, rejuvenate, and be at one with nature. Enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch among the pines, or watch the sunset grilling on the back deck.

(*NOTE: The dock and watercrafts are removed during the winter season due to lake ice and snow. Approximately October- April, but varying seasonally.)

With features such as natural wood, rustic and elemental finishes, and industrial style decor, this cabin is the perfect place for a couple or small family to spend a weekend or longer. It feels very remote, yet is close to the interstate and ATV / snowmobile trails, with access to hiking, biking and fishing. We have a stage 2 EV charter/240 RV hookup available as well!

The property features a private shoreline and a 20-foot dock on the small, peaceful, "no-wake" Lake Lee. You’re welcome to bring your swimsuits and enjoy the public access white sand “groomed” beach just a two-minute walk down the road, or stay within the privacy of your own lakeside retreat. (*NOTE: The dock and watercrafts are removed during the winter season due to lake ice and snow. Approximately November - March, but varying seasonally.)

Our paddleboat, two kayaks, 17' canoe with oars, hammocks (2), beach towels and fishing poles are all provided for our guests, as well as a backyard fire pit for s’mores and telling late night ghost stories.

The home has a fully appointed kitchen, complete with armoire refrigerator, dishwasher, oven / stove, coffee cart, and all the necessities. There’s plenty of space in the great room to spread out, and the main floor features the master bedroom with a queen size bed and bath with standing shower. The open loft upstairs has a toddler-safe cable railing, with a full/twin bunk bed set, and lots of play space. Hang out in the loft and play on the retro video game arcade machine! Featuring 10 different games for endless entertainment, including Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Rally-X, and more!

This home offers sleeping accommodations for up to five guests with the existing beds: Master queen (2), and loft bunk bed full (2) and twin (1). However, if your group is larger, we have linens available for the two futons (+2) and a queen air mattress (+2) at an additional fee, allowing sleeping for eight guests. We welcome furry family members (pets) with a nominal fee. Washer and dryer use within the home is complimentary for guests. Infant / baby items (pack and play, kitchen items, toys, etc.) are available upon request. While the garage is for owner use, guests may use the paved, covered carport.

We welcome you to come stay at our little log cabin at Lee Lake and hope to see you soon!

We are in-between Black River Falls and Tomah with easy access to interstate I-94. Lake Lee and the town of Millston is walk-able if you desire, but any other city/attraction would be about 10-15 minutes North or South on the interstate.

Bring your ATVs, UTVs, motocross, snowmobiles, canoes, kayaks, boats (no-wake) and other water equipment. Direct or nearby access to all.

Black River Falls - 13 miles | Tomah - 18 miles

La Crosse - 50 miles | Eau Claire - 60 miles | Wisconsin Dells - 60 miles

Madison - 120 miles | Minneapolis 150 miles | Milwaukee - 180 miles | Chicago - 250 miles

ATVs/Snowmobiles are common in Millston and will be seen on the road. Be careful when driving as riding paths often cross the road or run alongside it.

Millston does have trains come through occasionally. When they do, the train whistle can be heard at the cabin.

PLEASE be respectful when outside, as to not disturb the neighbors. Some of our neighbors are at their homes seasonally, while others live there daily and deserve peace and quiet also.

(*NOTE: The dock and watercrafts are removed during the winter season due to lake ice and snow. Approximately October- April, but varying seasonally.)

Fires are only permitted in the backyard firepit if allowed by Wisconsin DNR on a day-by-day basis. (e.g. not in cases of "Extreme" burning danger) If you choose to have a fire in the backyard, you must ensure that it is permitted by the DNR on the day you chose to burn and must never leave the fire unattended. We appreciate your cooperation as this is a safety issue for everyone including our neighbors.

You can view the day-by-day DNR conditions on the Wisconsin DNR Website or by calling 1-888-WIS-BURN (947-2876).

We take fire safety VERY seriously. If you are not responsible with your campfire, or leave it unattended, you will be asked to leave the cabin without refund!

The property is exactly how it looks in the pictures! A quaint and quiet little spot to unwind and relax. Drop a bobber at 6am while drinking coffee and watch the sunrise while breathing the serenity. It is the perfect size for a family of four and one 140lb (well behaved) dog. The owners thought of everything and provided more than we expected!

The location near the beach and visibility of the dock from the patio and living room was great for young children. The loft was perfect for our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 children).

Good location, but house is not as described at all
The screens either all have holes or don't work. There is a sign on the refrigerator saying to use the lighter to light the gas stove. When you do risk injury to light the stove top the range is way too low. None of it is up to code at all. The stove makes it almost impossible to cook off of. The stove top and kitchen in general was not clean. There are cob webs and dust on the logs inside. The last day of our stay the AC went out and it was 78 inside. The whole experience was super underwhelming to say the least. We ended up leaving the last night because of the heat, but we were told we would get our money back for the last night. I would fix the screens and windows so people can use them.

We had the best stay at Woodland Doe Lodge! Cliche in a good way, you get the full cabin experience of a log home decorated to play its part but with A/C and Wifi. The Hosts have thought of everything to make your stay memorable, we enjoyed using the Kayaks on the calm yet scenic Lee Lake.

Wonderful Cozy cabin
Our family had a wonderful time. Cabin was very clean. We stayed week of Thanksgiving so it was cold, there were lots of board games, toys and movies. Hosts left nice welcome of marshmallows and hand warmers. They also have a “snack shelf” of snacks, popcorn and drinks to purchase. Host was very quick to respond to any questions. I highly recommend.

Great cabin! Wonderful hosts
Great cabin! Wonderful hosts. Our family (my husband myself, our two daughters and our two dogs) had a great time! The cabin was extremely clean and well stocked with supplies that we may need, which was very helpful. My daughter caught a fish right off the dock, we couldn’t get our dogs out of the water, they loved swimming so much, and the kayaks were put to good use. Logan was extremely responsive to any inquiry we had. Overall, it was relaxing, enjoyable And beautiful. It was definitely a vacation we needed. We will definitely be back.

A fantastic family gathering site!
We initially scheduled this site for a mother - daughter gathering with the grandchildren staying at another cabin but Woodland Doe Lodge stoled all our hearts and made last minute sleeping arrangements so everyone was happy. Logan was quick to accept the changes and adjusted the bill. This was very appreciative. The only issue we had was the land boundary. It looks like the previous owner was allowed to set up a "circle" driveway which meant we went on the neighbors property. When looking at the property up on the Onyx Google Property map, we were parking on the neighbors land and using their driveway. The Northend of the property line is literally the tree next to the cabin and goes up the street. The tree that has the house number is actually on the property line of the neighbors. Thank goodness the neighbor was extremely friendly and had no issues but could tell he is ready for some boundary definition. I am sure he had to repeat his issue with previous renters. It would be helpful to have a fence or roped off area as it is very easy to use the circular drive when one should not. Otherwise it was a wonderful place for family to gather, play Apples to Apples at the table, swim, paddle the kayaks and boat and sit on the front porch to share many stories. We hope to rent again!

Amazing Family Vacation
The property was exactly what I hoped for. The log cabin was beautiful and we got lucky with some perfect spring weather. The lake was peaceful and we were able to relax with the canoe and paddle boat or just sit on the dock and watch the sun set. We had an iconic fire with smores and it was just the perfect weekend. The check in/check out processes were clear and detailed and there were many suggestions for hiking and activities that we took advantage of as well. The owner responded quickly and was very helpful with any questions I had. I will absolutely make this an annual stay!

Everything you could want
We rented for a small family gathering. First, the cabin itself is beautiful and cheery. The view from the back porch is fantastic. The host is super responsive and accommodating. Everything you think you will need is provided: pots, pans, skillets, a slow cooker!, a little waffle maker, board games, crayons, squirt guns, a small library for all ages and includes the full Little house on the Prairie books, tons of DVD's, a canoe, and a paddle boat. It was wonderful. When I get another opportunity to rent it - I definitely will, and this time I know I do not need to pack my own utensils and baking pans! There is also a little beach one house away and that provided a quick outdoor adventure for a three year old. You also have Black River Falls only 12 miles away and the drive itself is relaxing. On the way, you can stop at several parks. Waze Lake Park also has a beach and some beautiful trails. It was just excellent all the way around.

Our family loved this cabin! We traveled from Iowa with our family of 5 and our family pet. While the cabin wasn't as remote as we expected, the property was still quiet and the neighbors were very friendly and considerate. This was the perfect destination for a family weekend getaway. The view of the lake and all of the ice fisherman it brought was a spectacle in itself. Definitely recommend this cabin for anyone looking for an escape!
