Convenient hotel for an overnight stay. The rooms are very small and the amenities are basic, but it's clean, safe and right near the station, all for a good price.
The front desk is operated 24 hours with polite, helpful staff. You can request things such as a hairdryer, however they are in high demand and there are not always enough to go around – so you may have to ask again in the morning.
The bathroom in our double-bed room was not very private – glass doors with no locks – so bear that in mind depending on who you're sharing a room with. I was with my partner, so it wasn't an issue.
We extra paid for a room with a window, but this isn't really necessary considering the hotel isn't particularly tall, so there isn't much to see. Walls are quite thin and you can sometimes hear other guests and sounds from outside.
There's a vending machine with snacks and a coffee machine (all drinks £2), but for breakfast I'd recommend Cherry Red's across the road. There are some nice Asian restaurants around for dinner, too.
You get what you pay for, and this is an average albeit suitable hotel for the price. Recommended if you're in Birmingham overnight for a concert.
