"I have stayed here previously so was happy to book again. However the room this time was a disappointment; next to the lift so obviously very noisy, bathroom rather unpleasant damp smell. Good that we were only there for 2 nights or I would have complained. Overall still a nice place to stay as the location is very convenient for me to visit family in the area."

"A pleasant stay. After an initial hiccup with our accommodation it was sorted very quickly by Neil for which we were grateful. Would return but would probably return to one of the rooms in the house or the annexe as the Cottage was a little bijou! Very good breakfasts cooked by Jan. Thank you!"

"Stayed for one night on the way up to Northumberland. Good sized room which was spotlessly clean. Very good shower and appreciated the paper bin liners. Firm mattress. Welcoming hosts and an amazing breakfast, thank you."

"Room was basic but comfortable. Room had tea/coffee making facilities and small TV. Small wardrobe and sink. My room didn't have a bathroom but two on landing. One with shower and one with bath/shower. Soap and towels provided. Good view with plenty of greenery piece and quiet. Tasty breakfast. Everything was nice and clean. Shared lounge to relax in with stereo and TV. Lots of pubs, cafes and restaurants nearby. Would stay again. "

"The property is full of character but that shows in the facilities. An update to the bedroom and bathroom is required The meals are good and plentiful You step back in time by staying there "

"Generally very clean and tidy with only a couple of cobwebs here and there but bed has not been moved in some time, the owners greeted us and were very polite and friendly and made us feel very welcome, limited parking considering they have 4 rooms, beautiful views from the property, I would give it a near perfect score apart from having no tv or radio in the rooms and milk for in room tea and coffee is provided in a small flask, breakfast is lovely. "

"Patrick and his wife were very welcoming, the property is dated but comfortable and clean and very reasonably priced. The surrounding area is a short walk away, with some nice pubs, restaurants (with gluten free options), shops and a Tesco etc... The only thing that would have improved our stay would have been some comfy chairs or small sofa in the room as I personally struggle watching TV in bed, due to health issues, but other than that it was a pleasant stay."

"All round good place to stay as we passed through. Please be aware you are right outside a church that rings its bells every half hour all the way through the night. Not for light sleepers. Obviously nothing to do with the property which was a good stay. Just something to note. Food and drink in the surrounding area was on the pricey side too. "
