Ideal for birdwatchers, some 32 species of birds have been spotted in the pretty garden, and the historic market town of Biggar is just 3 miles away, with its large number of independent shops, cafés, restaurants specialising in local produce, and its vibrant arts and crafts culture. Biggar’s Victorian Puppet Theatre and the town of Peebles are well worth a visit, and for more adventurous holidaymakers, there’s a mountain bike centre at Glentress just 15 miles away. A day trip to Scotland’s vibrant capital city is a must, and there’s also golf, fishing, some fantastic walking and cycling available locally. Shop 3¼ miles, pub and restaurant 3¾ miles.
