Cozy
This little cool and cozy cabin is that, not loud at all, less than 10 min from the gas stations, and big bear lake, nice heater that keeps the property nice and warm during this winter. You get what you pay for and i like this :)

The property itself would've been a stellar experience if it wasn't for the cold water. The shower only had hot water for a little less than 3 minutes, and was cold for the rest of our time being there. The house also did not provide us the best heaters to keep us warm throughout the night. The fireplace was the closest thing that could keep us warm although it took quite some time for the house to start getting warm.

I liked the commutation with the host who answered my call quickly. The cabin is clean, but there were a few things that I disliked. The smell of ant killer was so strong that it gave me headache, I had to sleep with the window open for 2 nights. We stayed for 3 nights and the smell lingered around the whole time which was very annoying. When we got back home, the first thing I did was to wash everything we brought, that's how bad the smell was! I liked the fact that there are 2 beds and 1 futon that fitted our needs, but the quality of the beds and especially the futon were horrible. Very uncomfortable to sleep on. The futon was uneven and there's a big dip in the middle so it's hard on my back. I did appreciate the availability though, but I guess you pay for what you get. The cabin was small and in ok neighborhood, but everything that comes with it is just very poor quality and unpleasant.

For the price not bad and allows dogs
For the price it’s not bad. Older mountain cottage that seemed clean inside. My only complaints were the electric grill outside was not working (had to cook inside) and the outside area needs landscaped pretty badly. I get that in winter snow probably kills it off then summer it probably grows like crazy but maybe 1 landscape session per summer would be good so it doesn’t look so overgrown. Not a good look.

Stay is good
The stay was nice, the heater works amazingly, however the isn't much spare linens, or alot or cooking ware, the top of the fridge and the window seals and on the window was covered in thick dust. And the hammock is missing. Other than that we enjoyed our time and the yard was very fun to play in with child and dog, it's very quiet neighborhood and close to many trails, would rather stay in woodlands than big bear city any day

Mr. Vic. It would a great , if you would accept the fact that everyone is not phone hip, i'm 62,check in is on the phone. You need to have everything via email or text and please remember not everyone brings there labtop with them. You need to have a notebook on the table to check in and check out with all the codes for wifi and tv and such. We needed wash/face clothes, hand soap, my wife put soap in the dispencer but the tube that dispences the soap broke off. The walls need to be painted as there are black marks everywhere. Above all you need to either give all the dogs in the area chocolate for a week and kill them or you tell all customers to either drink alot or have ear plugs. The dogs bark and howl all night long so we did not get any sleep. But all in all it would be a nice place to stay. We will not stay here again. Take care God Bless Douglas you need to have a

Disappointed experience
The host was very responsive and nice, however the house was not clean. There were dirty walls and baseboards throughout the house. The kitchen had food splatter on the wall behind the stove. The bathroom grout was not clean on the floors and in the bathtub/shower. The front bedroom had a pet urine odor problem, that was masked with a fragrance when we first arrived. We originally added a night to arrive early (which the host was helpful and accommodating with). We would have left after that first night, but unfortunately we were in town for a family celebration and did not have any other option. After the second night we decided to cut our trip short and returned home (missing a portion of the scheduled festivities). The host immediately returned the extra night fee, which was appreciated, but overall it was a disappointing experience and cost us more than it was worth. Photos were taken of the issues and forwarded to the host, who said the issues would be addressed and apologized for the experience.

Great place however not the most fit for Long term Stays
This property is perfect for a weekend get away! My review is based on a 2 weeks stay. there are things about this place that make longer stays a bit less comfortable but really not super noticeable for just a 4 day weekend. Pros- -Property manager was VERY responsive. We had water heater issues our first week and he worked tirelessly to get them fixed. Everyone involved was very friendly -Great price for being this close to big bear, its about 12 minutes into town. - Comfortable enough for a weekend - Fire stick for TV entertainment. -A Ton to do in big bear - There are SCREENS on every window and door. This was awesome. -Internet was on point for work meetings. very reliable. Cons- FOR LONG TERM STAYS, overall a weekend trip this stuff isn't a big deal. - The kitchen supplies are definitely lacking. It is very basic utensils, we had to get creative with our meals. - We had to purchase a broom and swiffer mop to keep the floors clean, perhaps have one stocked there for long term guests. - The living room futon is about as uncomfortable as it gets, Again, for short term quick get aways not a big deal. 2 weeks became wearing. - Beds are SQUEAKY. Having a baby we had to get up a few times during the night and after 2 weeks it became wearing with the squeaky bed. (short term not a big deal) - House says the stay is for 4 people, kitchen table only fits 2. Hard to have family dinners. - No laundry, Laundromat was only 1 mile away though and was clean. - Not a full fridge. (No big deal for a weekend but we stocked for a 2 weeks trip) Improvements - Maybe a patio dining set that seats at least 4 - Broom and indoor mop. - A fan for the hotter days (No air conditioner) - A rack with hooks on the wall by the front door for bags and jackets. Overall if you are looking for a cheaper getaway for a weekend this place is perfect. It is very basic, and does not have a lot of fluff, but if you aren't looking to be at the house all weekend I recommend it!

Everything was great.
The inside was clean. Perfect place for relaxation. Went there for the Fourth of July weekend did not hear not one fire cracker. That was a reason why I went there to get away from all that mess. This place allows you to have dogs. And I would love to come back to the same place again. If you have any kind of disability? You do not have to worry about climbing any steps or stairs. Wonderful Little Cabin
This cabin was really nice! People comment on how the outside was not the best looking, but once you get on the inside it is a really cozy and just nice place to relax come closer to the people you’re with at the cabin and to feel the nature. The drive to town wasn’t bad 15 minutes of your day but that’s all. Just 15 minutes. A wonderful place to stay! Would stay there again!

Super Cute House
Our stay was perfect and the house was so cozy. The outside is a bit off-putting in the winter but don't let that fool you. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was good size with plenty of pans and utensils. The fireplace kept it plenty warm in the snowfall. The house is also the perfect distance to everything in Big Bear. For the price, it was the perfect getaway on a budget. The owners are very responsive and nice, too. I definitely recommend staying here if you are considering a getaway to Big Bear.

Nice, clean, and cozy
I appreciate the place was clean and simple. The linens and towels felt fresh and new. The kitchen has very limited cooking tools, utensils, and pots/pans but we adjusted just fine. Vik responded well to whatever issues we had. My family had a great time and it was a warm feeling to have a home away from home.

Nice & clean cozy cottage
We visited Big Bear during my son’s spring break for a mini-cation! The cottage was clean & the owner was phenomenal! He was very responsive & contacted me to checked in on us pretty much every day we were there! The location was great & it was even better bc it snowed while we were there! I would highly recommend this property as we did NOT experience any type of problem/issue at all! I will definitely keep this location in mind for future visits!

The exterior of the property needs a lot of work. Nothing Zen about it. Inside was cozy.
The house appeared abandoned as the exterior of the house was not maintained. I understand that its winter but the grounds could have been raked and kept up. The are various areas that are uneven and are trip hazards. The property was advertised to have internet Wi-Fi. But it did not work properly and we were unable to utilize it for work and tv viewing. There was no other tv service even though there was a satellite dish on the roof. It wouldn't have been such a big deal, but it rained during our stay so we spent most of the weekend on site. No internet or tv kinda sucks. The cottage is also located in a dead zone (no cellular service) would have been nice to know. I can't be totally negative. The interior of the home was nice. Very cozy. Unfortunately, the house was a bit dirty. The floors were only spot cleaned. Visible stains and residue were left behind. The window sills and blinds were dusty. Being that I have allergies it did affect my stay a bit. The beds were comfortable, but we did see some white stains on the comforter. That tells me the bedding was not washed or at least the comforter was not washed. All in all this would be a great vacation home if they would hire a better cleaning crew, be honest about the poor internet and cell service and maintain the exterior of the property in all seasons. We were disappointed to say the least. We both work hard and long hours and saved for this trip. It was unfortunate that the weather wasn't great, but the house should be equipped as advertised. I wish I could get my money back or some form of refund.

Comfortable and Clean Cottage
My family of 4 enjoyed the cottage for a weekend getaway. Since we arrived late on a Friday, the cottage took a few hours to warm up. Once we settled into the comfortable beds, the cottage grew warm. We spent Saturday at the snow and had hoped to watch a movie in the evening. Unfortunately, the WiFi for Netflix was weak, but that didn't ruin our stay. We had enough space and it was clean. The shower was amazing with warm water and good pressure. Communication with the owner is excellent. We will keep this cottage in mind for a summer weekend.
