Great rural location, spacious base
Warm welcome on arrival, comfortable base, visited Bude, Hartland Quay, Westward Ho. Dartington glassworks a bit of a highlight, along with those scones, cream and jam.

Peaceful secluded retreat on north Devon coast.
A spacious (perfect for 6 adults and two dogs) well laid out property in a lovely quiet location within reach of some spectacular coastlines in Devon and Cornwall. The cottage was very warm and cosy and the owners very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our week very much and would certainly return and recommend it.

Very comfortable and peaceful stay
We had an extremely relaxing and comfortable stay at the spacious Parlour. The Parlour is set in peaceful, rural surroundings and provides easy access by car to the spectacular coastline which offers plenty of walking opportunities. The five star rating is well-merited!

Great property lovely and quiet
Had a lovely long weekend, house spacious and very clean. Distant views of Sea from bedrooms and a real feeling of being the countryside. It was an excellent base for our next stage of the South West Coastal path. Wished we could have stayed longer!

peaceful Philham
This is a beautiful conversion, all bedrooms are huge and with en-suite. We love the decor, ambience, home away from home feel and the location was perfect for discovering the sites around. Local pubs were great for food drinks and ‘scene’.

The perfect family break.
A very comfortable home with stunning views of rolling hills and high-hedged lanes. We absolutely loved it here - thank you Kris and Pete for sharing your paddock - our morning coffee will never be the same! We explored the area on foot - walking along the coastal path. The coastline is so beautiful and the locals so friendly. We hope to return soon!

Hidden gem!
We had a wonderful break at the Parlour in Hartland! The accommodation was immaculate, spacious and very well equipped. The welcome gift of a gluten free cream tea was a very thoughtful addition, and reflected the care put into the details to provide for an easy and enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend!

Lovely property, a real home away from home.
Philham Parlour was perfect for our stay. The owners were very welcoming and the breakfast pack was a lovely touch. Plenty of space (we were a party of 6 adults and 3 dogs) and very comfortable. Beautiful part of Devon but a car is essential to visit all the nearby beaches ... Bude and Sandymouth were our favourites. Highly recommended and we would definitely stay again. Thank you Mark and Lorraine.

Home from home!
An immaculately presented property in beautiful country setting. Extremely spacious and well laid out. Mark was on hand to offer help if needed or a cheery wave. We were a three generational group and we were all extremely pleased with the property. I would thoroughly recommend this property!

Lovely break with friends
This property was ideal for our annual get together (5 ladies). Three well appointed bedrooms, all en-suite. A very well equipped kitchen and warm and cosy with central heating and a log burner. Ideally placed for various walks and close to pubs for bar meals or Sunday roast. Kris made us very welcome and her gift of a gluten free cream tea was much appreciated. The whole was spotlessly clean. Thank you, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Perfect Easter break
Fabulous weekend spent at the barn. Firstly communication with Kris was spot on, quick to reply to messages and very helpful. The barn was exactly as listed, plenty of space for the 6 of us but very cosy too. It was just perfect, beautiful outside seating areas, a basket of logs for the woodburner and a very welcoming cream tea when we arrived. We had some lovely walks in the area, and visited the local pubs too, just perfect!

Lovely, spacious holiday cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Parlour. There was plenty of space for a family of 5 and the small pool table and the outdoor space was a big hit with the kids. The cottage was situated in a small hamlet and was a lovely get away from our normal busy lives but had quick access to some beautiful beaches and coastal walks. There was certainly plenty to do in October, even when we had a few days when the weather wasn’t at its best. A beautiful part of the country and I would highly recommend the Parlour as a base. We felt very welcomed by the owners and we knew they were on hand next door if we did have any issues.

We had a fantastic time
Fantastic property and location. So quite away from busy life, but just a mile to a small village and perfect for exploring Bude, Hartland Quay, Bideford. Everything on hand for cooking a meal, or go the the local pubs. Kris and Pete were on hand to help us through the storm, extra logs for the fire, candles and hot water bottles. The bedrooms are spacious, upstairs rooms are massive. The downstairs bedroom is perfect and greatly needed to accommodate a disabled friend. Would recommend this property to anyone. Come and enjoy North Devon

A great "away from it all" barn conversion.
"The Parlour" fitted our requirements and provided us with all the space we needed. 3 great bedrooms, all en-suite, with plenty of hot water. We were an all adult party of 6 but I am sure that should you bring children there's plenty for them to do inside the property, loads of games provided, and a beautiful garden with a rope swing for the sunny days. Food waste shouldn't be an issue as the onsite hens gratefully received our waste every day. Hartland offers a lot for people to do, walking, taking in the sites, arts and crafts as well as the usual offerings from local tea rooms. The owners were on hand at the start of the holiday and their door was always open for us to ask about local things to do and pups to visit. The Parlour was immaculate and very clean and the owners left a welcome basket of food, eggs, milk and butter, and I would without question book again at the Parlour or even if its just the 2 of us try their B&B accommodation.

Fantastic property that suited our needs perfectly. We would definitely recommend this property.
This property was brilliant. With 6 adults and 1 child there was loads of space. The 2 bedrooms upstairs were massive, which the owners had made the most of by making an area to sit and relax with 2 chairs, coffee tables and tv. The ensuite shower rooms were lovely, light and airy. The kitchen was a good size and well equipped, Christmas dinner was a breeze. The property must be very well insulated as it remained comfortably warm, well after the heating had gone off. Views from the property are very nice across the country. It is set in a very quiet location, in the week we were there we counted no more than 4 cars and 2 tractors passing by, so perfect for a lovely quiet break. Mark the owner greeted us on our arrival, made sure we were happy and just left us to it, which was perfect. My son made this stay extra special by proposing to his girlfriend at the beautiful Hartland Quay. We would love to return in the future. Do not hesitate to book

Happiness in Hartland
This property certainly had the wow factor. All 3 bedrooms were of an extremely generous size with en suites also of a very good size and all with a lovely rural outlook. The lounge and kitchen areas were similarly spacious and well equipped. There was a smaller games area with table football and pool and a well stocked cupboard with a variety of other games. Outside was a covered seated area as well as a table large enough to accommodate all 8 guests as well as a bbq. The outside area was secure which was important for guests with dogs. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and a nice touch was the scones, jam and cream left for us to have. We also thought having a television in all the bedrooms as well as the lounge was a thoughtful touch. Needless to say the whole family and dogs enjoyed a really wonderful stay.

Thank you for your kind host
Kris and Pete are very kind and helpful providing us with useful local information and suggestions. We have spent a great week there. The house is very children friendly and we are two families with four children under 5 year old. They had great fun running about in the garden. Kris has also brought us the beach toys for the children to play at beach. Speacial thanks to Kris that she offered help to search for the lost book and post me the chopsticks I left behind. Thank you very much!

Perfect countryside getaway
The website did not really tell the story properly. The property surpassed expectations (and they were quite high), there was a new covered outside seating area, and we were constantly entertained by the swallows, martins and sparrows, not to mention the birth of a calf just across the way. A little tricky to do the first couple of miles of any journey, but well worth that because of all the lovely places to visit in the area. And the fitter guests will have no trouble walking to Hartland with its pubs, small shops and post office. Altogether great.

The perfect stay
The property was the perfect place to stay, owned by the perfect hosts, in a beautiful tranquil part of the world. We had a small dog and a 15 month old granddaughter, and we could not have been made to feel more relaxed and at home by Kris and Pete the hosts. Thoroughly recommend this property. The upstairs bedrooms are stunning, and the downstairs bedroom was just what we needed with our dog who unfortunately hates being left on his own. The facilities at the property covered every eventuality we needed for the weather. A great job Kris and Pete.

What an awesome location and property, lived up to everything.
We spent a week here, 2 families & 4 dogs, plenty of space to get away from each other if needed. Location was awesome, in 1week we only saw 3 cars, 2 bikes &1 tractor. Very quite and a great little sun trap in the garden. Great place to base yourself and explore both Devon & Cornwall

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful cottage! Everything was perfect, can not fault it at all! Kris and Pete were both so friendly and welcoming. The scones went down a treat! Kris was so attentive, having noticed a few items had been left behind after our trip, and was more than happy to drop them off to us as she was heading our way!! We loved our holiday and would definitely consider renting out the property again!!

Family holiday
We all had a lovely holiday here, the house was perfect for us, 5 adults and 2 young children. Plenty of room both inside and out for the girls to play, we arrived a little early but were made welcome and Kris had made us some yummy scones and gave us some nice jam and clotted cream as well. The house is in a very beautiful part of Devon , we went to some great beaches, don’t miss going to Welcombe beach which our 2 little ones thought was great. I would also recommend going to Hartland Abbey, the gardens are amazing and I should think they would be spectacular in the summer. If you are considering booking this house we would certainly recommend it!
