Hotel is unfriendly for foreign guests
This hotel is good only for those who speaks German. If you don't know German, you may have a hard time trying to check in after 6 pm. When we arrived, we have found the gate closed and the letter with the instructions on how to get in was pinned to the gate. The only problem was that the letter was written in German, which nobody of us spoke. So, we had to spend a lot of time to find a local person who kindly helped us with reading the letter. This really has spoiled our impression about the hotel. Other than that, the breakfast was below the expectations compared with other hotels we have visited in Germany and also, since they did not accept VISA at check-out, we had to waste some more time to find the ATM in town and to get some cash.

Little establishment, great room
The hotel is located in Potsdam, about 45-60 min from Berlin. Our exploration was of Berlin and the Christmas Markets. We stayed two nights. Check in is by 6 PM but arrangements can be made to arrive later by calling ahead. There are about 7 rooms in the hotel, very creative and fun, not the usual box shape. Good varied breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. A 20-30 minute drive to the Potsdam train station. Full day parking is 10 Euro. The train trip into Berlin about half an hour.

You will love this place.
This is the perfect, cozy, wonderful place to book. I wish I could have stayed a week. The breakfast is incredible and the whole experience was better than being at home.

Very nice welcoming hotel
The hotel was very pleasant, with a nice character in the architecture. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Just be aware that if you arrive late the main door may be locked, although there was someone in reception who let us in after a few minutes of knocking.

Stop Over x 2
We travelled from the UK to Warsaw this Christmas via Car, and on the way there and back we stayed here at Alfred and Otto. We were very pleased on both stays with both the rooms and service we were given, Breakfast was fabulous, and we will definitely stay again. We also stayed with our two dogs who also loved the facilities.

Nice hotel close to Potsdam
We stayed for one night on our bike trip. Nice little hotel with restaurant. Good breakfast and friendly service. However, they only accept cash or EC debit card which was not mentioned prior to booking. For international guests who only have credit cards this is somewhat inconvenient. The owner was quite unfriendly when I mentioned this. His reply was that I just have go to the bank and get cash!

Wer die Nase voll hat von immer gleichen Hotelzimmern und teurem Frühstücksbuffett ist hier genau richtig. Selten haben wir so liebevoll eingerichtet gewohnt. Mit viel Charme, stilsicher und gemütlich, dennoch modern und ansprechend wurde eine außergewöhnliche Unterkunft geschaffen. Dazu sehr sauber und mit allem Komfort und gutem Frühstück. Man fühlt sich ganz herzlich empfangen und umsorgt. Vielen Dank. Wir kommen wieder.

Privat geführtes Hotel an der Zufahrt zur Insel
Der Check-In lief über einen Schlüsselsafe am Eingang. Das Haus ist ein früheres Landwirtschaftshaus mit ausgebautem Dachboden. Das Zimmer war mit Dachschrägen etwas eng, aber geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sauber. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und die Chefin sehr freundlich.

Mit viel Liebe zum Detail

Wir waren für 2 Nächte dort. Für ein Hotel in dieser Preisklasse war alles hervorragend. Besonders gut haben uns die Betten gefallen. Aber auch die außergewöhnliche Gestaltung der Räume war sehr ansprechend. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Schöne Unterkunft mit kleinen Abstrichen
Sehr schöne Pension / Hotel mit gutem Frühstücksbuffet. Die Zimmer sind liebevoll und schön eingerichtet. Bei der Zimmerreinigung muss man leider Abstriche machen. Alle 3 Tage Handtuchwechsel ( was ok ist ) aber saugen und Wäschewechsel findet nur alle 7 Tage statt. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut, Kaffee ist lecker und das Personal freundlich. Für Ruhesuchende ist es, unseres Erachtens, nicht geeignet. Das Gebäude ist sehr hellhörig und aus dem gemütlichen Innenhof schallt es bei abendlichen Gesprächen zu laut. Da es keine Ruhezeit gibt, ist hier " Open End ". Zusammengefasst ist es eine gute Unterkunft für einen Kurzaufenthalt. Die Rezeption ist nicht immer besetzt aber über Telefon erreichbar. Die Gegend um Werder ist ein Paradies und jede Reise wert. Wir würden das Hotel wieder buchen aber nur in der oberen Etage um von oben Ruhe zu haben.
