"The Emerald is a beautiful, homey place and I enjoy stopping there on my frequent trips. It's affordable, and simple (no extra accessories), but I am good with that. Always very clean. They are very convenient coming from the airport on the hourly shuttle service. Being a single lady traveling alone, I would appreciate it if the door were a little stronger (no loose door knob, a sturdier lock, etc.) just for securit's sake, but otherwise I am happy with the property and services. "Overnight stay before safari - we arrived in the dark after a flight delay and had to leave early so unable to enjoy most of the facilities - but the room was clean, great facilities, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff (the receptionist even walked me to the nearest restaurant). "I think it's important to know this is someone's house with a few hotel rooms upstairs. There are some less-than-ideal aspects. The place is very echoey, so if the owners are entertaining downstairs you will hear it in your room. The lighting is very harsh, bright white, which is a big no for me personally. "Everything was perfect. The only thing the property needs to do is to invest some money to get an electrity generator for the lights and WiFi. Otherwise, I really enjoyed my time the property. Special thanks for George, Albert, and the people running the guest house. I definitely recommend it.
