Central location
Nice house in the middle of a part of downtown. It’s centrally located enough that if you had a bike you could do all the fun things without ever getting in a car. Has it’s own parking with is a plus for the busy weekend. The backyard is shared with another unit but my son had fun hanging in the hammock.

No A/C
The place was as described. The location was great and it was very clean. I did not to think to check if there was a/c since it was a rental in Bend in the summer. And so, it is accurate, because it’s not listed. However there is a review from July 2023 that reports no a/c and the power says it’s in the works, but a year later and there is still none. I also now see a recent review with the same complaint, however I didn’t see that before our trip was booked awhile back. We used the fans and opened windows to try and cool it off before bedtime, however our daughters went to bed at 8 and we weren’t going to leave their windows open, so unfortunately it was still hot. I don’t think it was obvious that there is no a/c, so I do feel that’s important to point out for others making the decision to stay here. I’d stay here again if was winter, but probably not again in the summer.

disappointing experience
This is a difficult review to write, because I do not like to give negative reviews. The overall experience of this stay was negative, mostly because the property was uninhabitable during the heat wave that predominantly Bend during our stay. The daytime temperatures were in the high-90's and low-100's. When we arrived at the property after a 4-hour drive from Portland, we found a rental unit that was simply unbearably hot. There was no air conditioning or swamp cooler, only one weak celiing fan, no screens on the windows -- we determined that the rental unit was not going to cool down overnight and provide comfortable sleeping and living accommodations for the duration of our short two-night stay. The owner offered up that there were box fans in a storage unit at the property, but this "remedy" was simply inadequate. I made alternate arrangements for two hotel rooms at a nearby property, at a cost of well over $1000 for our stay. Insult to injury: no consideration of even refunding the cleaning fee, though we never even unloaded our bags at the property. Very disappointing stay. Expensive lesson learned: double-check for air conditioners in Northwest US rental properties in the Summer. They do not call Central Oregon the High Desert for no reason. Property owners should be prepared to accommodate travelers who cannot tolerate 90-plus degree temperatures inside their rental units.

Great location
Four of us stayed at this small home. The location was awesome. Walk to grocery store, food carts, park, town, breakfast, restaurants, breweries. It was great! We didn’t eat in except for breakfast because of all the exploring we did. Easy location to Mt Bachelor. A couple hours from Mt Hood. Easy enough to travel to National Parks. Communication with property management was easy. They checked in and provided all the details we needed.

Great location!
Amazing location - very walkable to bars, restaurants, parks, etc. Small but cozy and well updated old house. Good space for our two little kids, including a separate (though no door) office space that worked for our infant to sleep in. They were very responsive to any questions and needs we had while staying.

Location, location, location! but REALLY needs A/C
The place is cute and comfortable and the location is absolutely what I wanted. No need to make coffee, a great shop is 50' across the street. Impossible to beat the location. However, you assume that a modern place has A/C. The one box fan was missing a blade and unusable. $150 at Lowes puts an A/C in this place and its perfect. Also, tiny details matter.... the check out list says to ensure you fill the dishwasher.... there isn't one. So please fix the form letter feel of the experience stay.

Very Walkable Location
The home is on shared property with a small cluster of other homes. The yard is shared with a fire pit and room to lounge, which is described in the listing. Some folks might like to know the corner lot is is a bit noisy. 10 Barrel is immediately across the street, and other pubs/breweries, coffee shops, and popular places are very close by. There is foot and car traffic. The home has no a/c, which is accurately listed, but I did not notice. Pre-check-in materials indicated I should turn the heat or a/c up or down before departing, and I got thrown by that. The weather was fine while there, so not a problem. Some folks might not feel comfortable leaving windows open at this busy location, plus, not all windows of the small home open. We had trouble with the door code on arrival, but the property owner was extremely responsive and we got right in. Please note the rooms of this home are very small, although the kitchen is large. We had a toddler with us. His pack and play fit in a very small office space next to one of the small bedrooms. We were only in Bend for a long weekend, so we enjoyed the local food and beverages. We walked everywhere we went, including the amphitheater, not pulling our vehicle out of the carport even once during our stay. We did not cook in the home, although I could tell there was adequate supplies to do so, if we wanted to. The home fit our needs and we enjoyed the walkable location. Still, would probably choose a different home next time.
