Bend, Oregon is famous for its outdoor activities and beautiful scenery. You can enjoy art, dining at an award-winning restaurant, spa treatments, or take part in the Bend Ale Trail, which is the largest beer trail in the West. Bend is also great for family-friendly activities. In summer, go tubing through River Bend Park on the Deschutes River or do some world-class rock climbing at Smith Rocks State Park. West of Bend go boating on Cascade Lakes or hike the peaks of the Cascade Mountains. Year around, hike up Pilot Butte, an extinct volcano. A little to the south, the High Desert Museum showcases the local environment, with history and live wildlife exhibits.
