"It feels important to mention that the owner does not speak english, it is listed as a language they speak, but they don't. I received a message from them a couple of hours before we were due to arrive (after traveling for over 20 hours) to say that our bedding was wet and in the washing machine and we would need to dry it. Luckily, i found some more bedding which we could use, as we arrived after midnight. There isn't any internet connection, so we used mobile phone data to connect to the tv. We found a booklet and it was a list of cleaning instructions, which felt like the property owner wanted us to deep clean the whole place before we left i.e. 'wipe down all of the window sills' 'wash the skirting boards' etc. It is also very slippery outside when it rains, my son slipped over coming into the house and hurt his back (and he was wearing walking boots with good grip). The ladder leading to the roof top bedroom is a bit dangerous, there are no safety rails and it is very steep. The house is very small, so although it says 'sleeps 8', it is very crowded with 4/5 people (and only one toilet). A big selling point for me was the hot tub, but i was too scared to actually use it, there were strict instructions on using it and then washing and cleaning it afterwards, it didn't seem worth it :( I was very relieved that the lights on the outside of the house are on a timer, because it definitely helped me to find the place. Beautiful wood and scenery though. "

"Sigurd’s home is absolutely lovely. The location is peaceful and beautiful, with a wonderful view. But more importantly, the house is spotless and equipped with everything you need to have a home away from home. We hated leaving. And he responded to any needs we had right away. The entire experience was easy and made is feel welcome. We enjoyed spending time there more than even driving around. We would go back without hesitation."

"I stayed here with my family (2 adult couples, 1 10 year old) in late September. We got lucky with great weather. The house got a lot of sun - we made good use of the window shades! - and we soaked it up on the deck. Several of us enjoyed a dip in the fjord and a soak in the hot tub afterwards. We rented a boat from the hotel next door one day, and went hiking another day. It was a great place to relax and enjoy nature, and had everything we needed. "

"Lots of room, light and great kitchen. Just gorgeous back gardens and access to water and dock. Probably could be clearer how to operate the many wonderful amenities (W&D, media systems, pool) but the setting is the raison d'être! Wonderful place. "

"Villa Oleanna is magical. The view from the room, the view from around the property is amazing and mesmerizing. The rooms are terrific, the entire property is wonderful. And the proprietors are caring, warm and everything one would want in a place to stay. Sitting outside with a capuccino looking out at the fjord as the sun sets--- Wow. We will go back as soon as we can."

"The house is absolutely beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The host was available easily and answered all questions in a timely manner. We loved walking to see the animals up the road and sitting out back watching the water. Definitely a 10/10!! A few notes: If you want dinner or drinks at the hotel up the road, call to see if you can reserve a table as they typically only serve hotel guests. We were able to talk to them and get a table one night. The farm lets you walk around and interact with the animals! They were so cute!! Not the owners fault, but the weekend was VERY noisy all day and until 5am. After those houses left on Sunday, it was so peaceful! Great grocery store within 5 minutes and the staff are so helpful! You cannot buy wine or alcohol there, and not at all on Sundays, so plan accordingly. All the alcohol stores close at 6 pm. The drive to Bergen is stunning, but takes a bit. We did it daily and it wasn’t bad at all. "

"We so appreciated being right on the water and enjoyed the view from each room in the house! The sunsets were magnificent! The owner was available and responsive to the couple of questions we had. We cooked our meals and the kitchen had all that we needed. The hot tub and sauna were enjoyed at the end of each day for a relaxing moment. The house is approximately 45 minutes into the center of Bergen and a beautiful ride. We wanted our first trip to Norway to be authentic and the best way we found to do that was to stay in a lovely fjord to take in all the natural surroundings… this house provides that and sweet memories that we won’t soon forget!"
