The hotel is not far from Dongsi Shitiao Line 2 which is a ring, then you may connect to Line 1 for tourist attraction places like Wangfuching, Tianenman and Qianmen street. But be careful not to confuse this station with Dongsi station on your metro map. They are completely different.
The hotel itself is a big and old building. I choose the cheapest available room which is on the basement floor, there is no windows on these rooms, which cause stinks from the bathroom. Apart from that, the rooms are worn out, cleanliness is an issue and not their priority. The wifi in the room sometimes works ok, sometimes it deconnects. If you are lucky, you may get a good wifi signal. During my last time, the router of my room was broken down. This time I was lucky and had good connection. And on the basement floor, my China Unicom simcard didn't receive any 3g/4g signals.
This hotel is not aimed for international tourists, I only saw local peoples as hotel guests. And the area of the hotel is not also a tourist attractions places.
Even the front desk people doesn't have an English knowledge, they are helpful and try to find a solution. The reason I choose Qinglan is, my first option hotel in Qianmen st canceled my reservation twice.
This is a hard place to find a taxi and the front desk also doesn't help much to call a taxi for you. So, if you have a flight to catch at Beijing airport, you had be better to check out early and do the job by yourself.
