Come check out our new condo! Have fun with the whole family in our gorgeous, stylish ski in/out condo at the Snowbird Lodge nestled on the hill overlooking the Monashee Mountains. We are Premier Hosts for a reason. We want our guests to have the best possible experience and feel like they are in their home away from home.
About the condo: Gorgeous ski in/out (or bike in/out in summer) condo in The Snowbird Lodge nestled on the hill overlooking the Monashee Mountains. This spacious 1600+ sf and bright unit has high ceilings & a private hot tub w/ 180 degree mountain views. It’s the perfect space for any time of year. It also comes with a portable Air conditioning unit (14,000 BTU) which will make the hot summers much nicer. The open concept plan creates plenty of space for your whole group to socialize.
The Rooms: The kitchen, living and dining rooms are open to one another with plenty of seating for your group to relax and enjoy the many amenities. In the living room we have a brand new, large, comfy sectional couch that could sit 8 easily along with a pair of smaller chairs if you need some additional space. The living and dining rooms are surrounded by large windows which allows for lots of sunshine but also a nice draft in the summer or it can be the perfect spot for gazing out at the winter wonderland of fresh falling snow. Relax in front of the cozy fireplace, watch a movie on the new, large screen TV, watch Netflix, Disney, Prime, or Crave on us, or your other personal content from your device with the equipped Apple TV system. Oh, and we just bought an arcade game with 300 preloaded games on it for kids...and adults...to enjoy. Beside the living room we have a large dining table with comfortable seating for 8. The kitchen bar also has additional seating for another 3 in large comfortable chairs.
Cooking: The kitchen is well equipped for the Chef in your group! We have all the appliances, tools and utensils that you would need to cook up meals rather than going to dine out. We also provide basic condiments (ie coffee, olive oil, ketchup, salt/pepper, etc). Don’t forget about the BBQ on the covered deck for those nights you wish to grill something.
Sleeping: The three bedrooms offer plenty of space in these large rooms. The King master has its own ensuite with a giant, gorgeous steam shower, TV and large closets. The Queen room is bright and cozy with a comfy queen bed. The bunk room (aka kid room) is quite big and sleeps up to 5 between two large bunk beds. The room also has a TV for kids and adults alike to enjoy in a private space away from the main living area.
Patio: One of the best features of our new place is the patio. It's large and wraps 180 degrees around the building which gives you glorious views from sunrise through sunset, especially of the Monashee mountains. Oh, and did we mention the hot tub? Sit and relax in our Beachcomber hot tub on our private deck. You can apres ski and stare at the phenomenal views while you relax and massage your tired muscles. We will be adding patio furniture shortly as well so keep an eye out! Just looking for the perfect addition for the space.
Check-in: We have convenient keyless entry via coded locks and we are available by phone/email 24/7.
Kid-Friendly Suite - Leave some things behind to save on space:
The Bunk "kids" room has two large bunk beds (twin on top - max 125 lbs, double on bottom) so all your kids can hangout and sleep together in one well-insulated room that also has a TV. Note that we also have a baby/toddler Pack-n-Play, baby bath, baby seat and various toys.
General Supplies:
The house is stocked with critical items like toilet paper, soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies, dishwasher and washing machine detergent, dryer sheets, linens/towels, coffee, condiments, etc. There is a large washing machine and dryer.
Guest access:
You will have access to the entire apartment, with the exception of one pantry which we keep locked for personal use. You will also have access to the garage and storage locker. We will send you the door codes and detailed instructions 24 hours prior to your arrival.
Location:
Snowbird Lodge is located in Happy Valley, with ski-in access right to the back door of the complex, and ski-out access just a cat track slide away to the Lara Gondola. With the nearby gondola in Happy Valley, you’re only a few minutes away from the Village Centre. You’ll have great access to all the amenities and activities that both areas offer, including tasty restaurants and bars, an ice skating rink, a tube park, sleigh rides and more.
Getting Around/Parking:
We have two tandem parking spots in the garage so you can easily fit two vehicles inside. If you require additional parking, you will need to park in the nearby Happy Valley parking lot. You will not be able to park in front of the building, as each unit is only allowed two spots. Parking on the roads is not permitted and you may be towed.
There is a free daily Big White shuttle that runs every 1/2 hour throughout the resort during winter months. To get to the village, you can wait for the shuttle (stop is just down the street from the building) or just walk down to Lara's Gondola (3 min walk) which will take you to the center of the village. Alternatively, you can also walk the Happy Valley trail to the village, which will take about 10-15 mins.
Other things to note:
This unit is on the third floor of the building which is in turn equipped with an elevator. The house has hardwood floors and new furnishings. Please take care. Do not drag anything over the floors to prevent scratching. Skis/snowboards will not be permitted in the unit at any time. Please use the locker provided on the second floor.
On Mountain Groceries: There is a grocery store in the village which has most critical supplies (groceries, wine, beer) but it is quite pricey so we suggest you stock up in Kelowna (ie Save on Foods) or plan to have grocery delivery services drop you your supplies. Ask us if you need any recommendations for grocery delivery companies. There is also the occasional service from Big White to Kelowna. You can inquire with Big White Central Reservations. There is also a very reasonably prices and fun service provider called "Ride out West" that offers returns trips to Big White after activities like wineries, bowling, hockey games, etc.
There are shuttles during the winter ski months to/from Kelowna Airport and Downtown Kelowna. There is also free daily Big White shuttle that runs every 1/2 hour throughout the resort during winter.
